Question's pretty much in the title. I registered for 2014 at con last year. Is there any way I can make a group and be the pick up person?

And while I'm at it... can I log into registration? It asks for my email and confirmation number, but I have misplaced the little sheet I got when I registered last year (not sure if that even had anything on it). And of course, I never got a confirmation email since I registered at con. @___@ Does that mean I'm cooked?

Hey, Artist Alligators!

I'm hitting the AA first thing on Friday to find a headdress for my maid outfit for the rest of the con. Which one of you guys is selling headdresses (preferrably black and/or white) at your booth?? >:V

Just thought I'd post here and see if I could make an preliminary map for whoever's selling them <:  AA is my favorite thing at Fanime, so I'll take my time and look through everything throughout the weekend. But I want to choose a headdress asap!

Are they usually pretty packed, or is it easy to get in?
I'd love to go to the B&W Ball, but I only want to prepare an outfit if I can get to the dance lessons.

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB Long White Wig
February 04, 2013, 09:41:46 PM
Heyo, I'd like to buy a long or extra long white STRAIGHT wig. I prefer it to be unstyled, but will consider anything that is reasonably similar to Togame from Katanagatari.

I'm hoping to save money by buying used, so I will accept pretty much any price that is (maybe ~$15) cheaper than having to buy from Cosworx or something (nowadays, Cosworx is selling Ivy Long wigs for $45 after shipping). I have Paypal or can pay with card if you have a merchant's account.

Thank you! (:

What do you guys think of splitting an Artist Alley table by days? Maybe one artist is there for Friday-Sat (obv puts up signs that say "only here til Fri-Sat"), packs up Saturday night and the next artist takes over Sunday and Monday?

I'm sort of considering something like this just because I'd really like to have a table this year to recoup some of my money (I'm pretty broke :C). However, while AA was SUPER rewarding and fun last year, I was stuck at my table the whole time and didn't really get to enjoy the rest of the con. I don't have enough friends to man my table for longer than a couple hours, heheha D:

I guess what I'm wondering is:
a) Does anyone do this?
b) Does this break some sort of rule?
c) Is it sort of an assy thing to do?  I remember reading on some AA guide that it wasn't very good form to abandon your table halfway through the con. But maybe it'd be okay if someone else uses the space instead?

In the FAQ, it says that "only helpers which will be handling money need to be included in your table signup request.." Can I bring in a non-money-handler to help set up my table before the AA opens?

He has a con badge.

I'm about to order mine for the very first time and I'm curious about what everyone else puts on theirs.

So far, I've got:

  • Name
  • Deviantart or Website
  • Email

Anything else?

I'm preparing for a con THIS WEEKEND AAAUUUAH. I only learned about it recently, so I didn't have time to order any sleeves online or anything. Also, the 11x17s turned out WAY bigger than I thought they would @____@ I checked my local Office Depot, but they only had plastic sleeves in tiny sizes.

QUESTIONS:
How do you guys usually package 11x17 prints for your customers?
Where can I get that kind of packaging QUICK (i.e. not from the Internet)

Thanks, guys!

Live Programming and Events / Bookmarks: how do?
March 13, 2012, 10:56:41 PM
How do you guys usually make bookmarks? Do you print them separately, or print a bunch and cut them out, or what? Laminated? Cardstock?!??!
I feel like I have a lot of info on how to make prints, but none on how to make bookmarks :S

Another first-timer here, just wondering how many business cards I should bring to hand out. Does this usually depend on anything, like my location in the room or the quality of my art?

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys! Sorry, I know there's another price range thread already going around, but I've posted in it multiple times and no one seems to have any input on plushes or on-site commissions. Plenty of info on prints, though.

So, any ideas on how to price plushies and on-site commissions? So far I'm developing midsized (6" tall) plushes and smaller 3" plushes.

As for on-site commissions, I mostly want to do bust or full body pencil sketches, MAYBE colored, MAYBE inked. I know this depends largely on the artist's skill, but does anyone have a sort of price range for what people are generally willing to pay?

Hellooo,

I've never signed up for a table before, so I have no idea how the form looks or how long it takes. Does a link appear magically on the AA page at 12 noon? Do we click a button that holds our space while we fill out our information? Or does the table go to whoever fills out their info the fastest?

My understanding is that Fanime badges can be purchased at the same time as AA table tickets. Does buying the Fanime badge at that time make the process any slower? I'm not sure if I want to go to Fanime if I don't have a table. However, I would be willing to buy the membership badge before sign ups if it gives me even a slightly better chance of getting a table.

I feel like I'm being really nitpicky, but I just really want a table and I know they sell out super fast.

edit: Also... what's the process for signing up in pairs? The AA Agreement form I downloaded doesn't say anything about signing up with a partner.
