The picnic last year was one of the highlights of the con, and I had the most fun there than I had probably had before at a convention.
Of course I'm in. :D Do you need any help bringing things? I can attempt to bring cookies, though that has always been doomed in the past. I hope I can this time.
I may or may not show up actually in lolita. If not, I would probably be wearing a beautiful cosplay that was heavily influenced by 1890s mourning, anyway.
I cannot wait for this again. It's going to be great.

It would be easier for you to purchase it from Fan+Friend than to make one. They are fairly cheap and do cosplay items as well.
Keep in mind Lolita is NOT cosplay. It is a fashion style not a costume.
Most lolita outfits are hard to make and I speak from experience.

paul and i went last year, and while he has written you and already informed, he and i will be attending again this year and are looking forward to it with great anticipation.
on a somewhat related note, should i get off my lazy bum, i will be selling my own lolita dresses this year at the swap meet, along with onigiri. hopefully they will be between 60 and 90 dollars and will include accessories, such as tiny top hats which i enjoy making so:) so if you are new to loli, and want to look for a few elegant pieces, stop by, in fact if you're going to wear it to the picnic, i'll give you a discount ;)

For the most part, Because this is a Anime Convention and whatnot, It is appropriate enough. If you were going to wear this to a formal tea party I would tell you no because it's so over the top.
In the end at Fanime I totally think you should wear it.

I would highly recommend getting a hotel room because it is a good place to sleep even if you're a ways from the convention center.....

I will most likely be coming!! This is gonna be my first anime con and Lolita meetup, I'm so excited! :D
I think you should make a post about this on the Lj community egl, because a lot of us over there don't know any specifics about this event and many of us would like to go!

I'll be there and I'm bringing my husband (who even promissed to dress up, woot). We plan on making cupcakes, tea sanwhiches and bringing a blanket or two. Is there anything else you can think of that we should bring?
The shady area outside seems like a nicer location that inside on the convention center floor.
A small suggestion: you might want to think about making it clear in your first post that it's a pot luck and you want people to bring stuff because right now you only know that if you read all the comments and people are lazy sometime and don't seem to bother with them.
I'd also like to second hazelasher's suggestion about LJ. You might want to post about it over on egl and/or ca_egl because people over there have been asking about fanime a lot recently and even specifically about your picnic.
Egl Requires that you don't double post stuff so I was waiting until May, I plan on posting it tomorrow actually since it will offically be May. Thanks for reminding me still though!

Actually, this seems a little inappropriate to ask.... But might anyone have an extra white poofy petti I could maybe borrow for the meet? Part of my shame is that I don't have a great blouse or petti (Mine is black and limp, and the dress is pink BtSSB). I'm mega perfectionist when it comes to the idea of loli (not that I hold everyone else to the same standard exactly @_@) But anyway, if I could I could make sure it got back to you and everything... I could give you whatever hotel room I get or anything like that, as well as my cell that I' be carrying. And I could wear a slip or somesuch under if you'd be worried about that somehow. I'm very clean.

I've been making a replica of a Mary Magdelene dress. Since I'm not going to have a new cosplay and will have to wear street clothes for a day of the con, I thought it would be cool to at least have some pretty, new ones. :D
So for the first time ever, I will actually be wearing loli to one of the loli gatherings.
Mango: I have a HUGE white petti, so huge it may or may not fit under your dress (can I see pics to determine?), but I am willing to let you borrow it for the picnic. How would I get it to you, though? I don't really want to be lugging a petti around with me to the picnic, but that seems to be the best option, and then just let you put it on in the bathroom right before. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about bringing it to the con in the first place, since we have limited car space, but I will bring it if I know for sure that you will be there. Maybe we can meet up a few minutes before the picnic so you can put it on, and I will have enough time to run it back to my room if we don't meet up?
I know that I would hope for someone to offer up their petti if I were in the same situation. :D I hope that mine works with your dress.

By huge I do mean super-poofy. It should fit under that dress, since it does have a gathered waist, it might just make it... a little too big.

I'm so sorry everyone.. I've been busy cooking this week... There will be a donation box avalible for next years picnic. Last year there was donations and I doubled it with my own money then some..... So I would greatly apperciate donations for next year.....
