All cosplayer gatherings & cosplayer events that wish to be on the Gathering Info Boards @ Fanime Con 2011 MUST have a Fanime forum thread. All information to/from the organizers to/from me will be passed through their Fanime threads or by PM on the Fanime forums.
The Cosplayer Gatherings & Events List along with the Cosplayer Gatherings and Events Thread URL list will ONLY be on the Fanime Con forums in this section. They will not be found on Cosplay.com like it has in years past due to the problems with updating the posts and size limitations.
So every year there are cosplayers that want to join a gathering, but they are unsure if there will be enough people interested in doing a gathering. That's what this thread is for :)
If you are looking for other cosplayers from a particular title or genre post that info here on this thread.
If your looking for people to join in your FanimeCon skit then those question are perfect to post in here too, but make sure to come back and check.
Maybe you want to let people know who you will be cosplaying @ FanimeCon in 2011. That's also what this thread is for :) So post that info here on this thread.

Last year, I think we missed the majority of the Leiji Matsumoto-verse characters (Harlock, Emeraldas, Yamato, etc). We kept hearing that people had dressed up in them on Friday or Saturday when we were walking around on Sunday in them. It's what we get for wanting to surprise the general public for Masquerade :(
So...that being said...if it looks like there could be enough folks, I'd love to see them get all in one place. I don't know whether I'd bring Miime or Emeraldas...and I might even go as far as to consider my jail-Kei as well (or maybe I could get a friend to wear her..).

I have been a fan for a while and I attended lots of cons back in 2001 to 2004. I fell off the map for awhile due to financial. Recently my gf started cosplaying (Her first cosplay is silent hill nurse)and I named off a few popular cosplayers when I was into the scene. Apollo Smile, Adella, Lillyxandra and her sister Hakura, and Kitty, but when I went to show her the their costumes I noticed that she stop cosplaying, just wondering why she left the cosplay committee?
I'm not entirely sure that this is the right place to post this thread, so if it's wrong, please move it. e_e;;
ANYWAY. Me and my friend are going to cosplay as Kurama and Hiei for fanime next year, and we really wanna do a skit for the masquerade. :D I think it would be awesome, since there's not a lot of YYH cosplayers around anymore(SOBSOB). So, we need your help to decide what to do.
There's just the two of us, nobody else, but it's possible to make a dance routine or something.

Well, let's see how many people perk up between now and say..early next year. I'm not entirely against even going so far as to organize if I am able to and the interest is there. I am just holding off on making any strong commitments until the new year hits, that way more people could pipe up interest and I can be sure to be able to commit to it and not have any other conflicts :)

Well my first suggestion regarding doing a dance skit... DON'T! Not unless you can come up with an amazing routine like the pokemon guys a couple years ago.
If you think you can then be ready to practice it a lot because a dance skit is already hard to get an audience behind, a poorly rehearsed one just is torture for them.

I plan on attending and one of my old costumes I could bring out of retirement is Kuwabara both his school uniform and his Dark Tournament outfit. However, I will caution I am in stationed in Japan currently thus I would only be in the area starting on the Thursday the con starts.
Ok, each year I see a few of us wandering around and this year we need to organize. So we can drive the foul Xenos, Heretic and Mutant out from the con in the name of the Emperor. :P In all seriousness I am working on a Tech Priest costume for next year so I figured why not start a gathering for us. Obviously this far out dates and times are going to be fluid but more this is an interest gathering thread currently then anything.

I hope someone makes a Leiji-verse gathering, or even just a general old school anime gathering. Every year, I see Harlocks and such, and no one ever seems to be wearing their costumes on the same day.
I apologize if what I ask is posted in the wrong area.
I'm thinking about setting up a gathering for the Marvel/DC Universe for 2011, but I don't know if there will be enough people to bite on this sort to speak to even have one set up. If anyone thinks that this gathering idea is worth doing and/or is interested in joining, then I am willing to go ahead and set it up.
I haven't quite decided which character to do yet, but I've run across a couple of ideas so far to do.
Hope to hear some feedback on this possible idea ASAP.

As sad is... I see less Death Note cosplayers out there. I want to believe that there are still more out there. I am going to be cosplaying as Matt, Mello, and Beyond Birthday. So please let me though that Death Note cosplayers are still a live and it will be wonderful.
Well of course there will be at least a few, but as Anime/Manga get less new, less people cosplay for it.

I agree! on Sunday this year when I was dressed as Miime and Hubby was Harlock, we by sheer -luck- tumbled across a Maetel and Conductor. I heard rumor there were others. I'd love to get them in one place. I'd even organize it if I knew my own plans a little better, but I can't make any strong commitments until probably early next year.
Oh yes old school! I'd especially be quite happy to see me some Voltron. Unfortunately I can't remake my Lotor costume for a -little- while longer, so that might have to wait.

DN cosplayers can join in the Shonen Jump gathering on Sunday.
Well I already have the music, lyrics, and relative choreography done. Granted, it's still only half baked at the moment.
But at this time I need six people total. Five Narutos and one Sasuke. I'm willing to compromise and change the choreography if I can't get all the Narutos, but I do need one Sasuke.
If it's not possible for me to meet everyone in person I'm willing to create a video to send out the choreography I had in mind.
Also, should I create a forum post to try and gather people now or should I do it later?

What you do is post that info here & change the thread title to something like Looking for Naruto cosplayers for skit. That way they can reply you by clicking on Quote. You might want to keep the title for any other threads concerning that.
I also want to note that it would be good to have people pm you or start a thread in the Fanime section of the Cosplay[dot]com forums.

okay me and a friend of mine are going to do a skit for Fanime 2011 in the masquerade
and we're in DESPERATE need of a Terra and Ventus (no armor, just regular clothes)

Hey so 2011 is gona be my first Fanime and i'm planning to cosplay as the Spy from Team Fortress 2 (red or blu). I have no real experience with making a cosplay outfit and the spy's seems fairly simple but i dont know where to find a red or blue suit. I'm also quite short since im also 14 which makes it even harder. :P Anyone know where i can find one? Also i was thinking of starting a Tf2 gathering if enough people would join. Try looking at thrift stores/2nd hand stores. they're usually good places to look for old suits or odd clothing.

AS PRODUCER OF THE MASQUERADE GROUP - "Undergrad Heroes" (we won the second time we ever performed). I NEED YOUR HELP AND SUGGESTIONS FOR MASQUERADE IDEAS!
MY KIDS TEND TO GET BZ ABOUT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR WITH COLORGUARD AND BREAKDANCING PERFORMANCES (which I'm also proud to say they win numerous awards in) and we haven't been able to really come up with anything atm... :)

~ I humbly ask tho that your ideas stay reasonable and physically possible lol. I also would like if your idea is somewhat related to a school kind of theme because thats what we're known and good for. I mean, we are called undergrad heroes because of the school themes we perform.
SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT US:
- We are a total of about 14 to 15 performers. I know you can't have that many at fanime but we rotate our people around taking turns as stage ninjas.
- Our skills include singing (the girls have musical performance backgrounds), breakdancing, tricking, flipping, colorguard, drumline and doing physically difficult stuntwork.
- We have about 4 girls and the rest/most of us are guys.
- If you need more of one of the other gender. We can take care of that.
IF WE USE YOUR IDEAS FOR OUR SKIT WE WOULD DEFINITELY GIVE YOU CREDIT FOR YOUR WORK.YOU WILL BE MENTIONED IN THE SKIT DESCRIPTION WHEN THEY GIVE THE PERFORMANCE INTRODUCTION.

So i WAS gonna do a leather pants/TF2 skit with two of my friend's but they're flaking out. How about a parody of Scott Pilgrim vs The world?
we were already thinking of a parody of scott pilgrim but it may be too time consuming and could stray away from the anime focus.also.theres the fact that not too many people knew of scott pilgrim before the movie.and theres also the possiblity of the fanime public not really knowing of scott pilgrim.
it would still be a great show tho.the evil exs could be evil anime boyfriends and so on and so forth.
another problem would be the special effects.there were many effects in the movie that would be hard to stage live...
i still like the idea tho.i probably wouldn't give up on it completely..

Fun! I did a K-ON group last year with myself and 4 friends. We had all the girls covered (even had the only Azu-nyan at the gathering) in the Don't Say Lazy costumes. Got stopped for pictures a lot. You're gonna have fun! I might wear my Yui costume again this year for the heck of it, but I won't have my group. :(
This year my main costume is Celty from Durarara. I'm looking forward to seeing all the other DRRRers since it looked like the gathering last year was exciting.

I think a Tron skit could work well. Have the stage ninjas rig a few blacklight bulbs so you can darken out the stage and have the audience still see the suits (without having to make self illuminating ones.) Just a couple of actual Tron folks and the rest could be dressed in all black to move the discs and help balance/hold the Tron actors in difficult/impossible positions. Kinda like the Defying Gravity group from Americas Got Talent.
While not precisely anime it is still something most the audience would know and I think enjoy.
Just don't do a dance skit.

Anyways, I am new to this cosplay business, and my friends usually go as a .hack//G.U. group. I wanted to join them this year, and they really want me to be gaspard. I can only find one other example online, and it's not very helpful. It seems like I'm the second american to attempt this costume ;D. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good example, tutorial, some reference photos, or have any advice for this costume? I'd really appreciate it.
I'm planning on being a somewhat skinny version of gaspard, as i myself am not terribly skinny, but I am not going to make myself look almost spherical as the character does in the games.

- We have about 4 girls and the rest/most of us are guys.
- If you need more of one of the other gender. We can take care of that.

It'd be nice to have some friends from these series (like Shinra from DRRR!! or Cloud from FFVII and maybe the whole exorcist crew from D Gray Man) but I'll most likely attempt to stay silent and in character when I'm Celty.
I heard amazing things and saw amazing photos of the Fire Emblem gathering from 2009. It would be fantastic to have one at Fanime again this year. Do we have any interest? My own group has Soren, Ike, and Ranulf for certain.
Date, time, location, and other miscellaneous things are wide open to suggestion from those whom it may concern. Whether or not this will actually happen is certainly up in the air.

I know this might be a weird request, and I assure you my friends and I aren't crazy people...at least not in the dangerous way ;D We require the assistance of a Russia cosplayer for a Cosplay Music Video we wanna do.
Requirements:
1. Must have a Russia cosplay. (Any version ok. Example: Soviet Union, Military, Casual...ect.)
2. Must be attending FanimeCON 2011. If you are present for more then one day, that'd be fantastic!
3. Be able to work with a group of people, and my horrible directing skills
4. Not mind your photo or video of you being taken. You are giving us permission to post the finished product on Youtube and any pictures onto DeviantART.
5. Must be able to have fun and not take things too seriously...honestly, that's my area of expertise
Here the script...I know it's kinda confusing. But it's easy to explain in person. Altogether the video is just made up of short scenes. So the total thing, or at least the parts including Russia can be finished in one day...hopefully.

The scene switches to Ukraine alone, with eyes closed flashing back to a memory of how cold, dark, and lifeless Russia's land is.

Back to Ukraine she is speaking with Russia...but he doesn't seem interested in anything she has to say. She starts to get closer, and try to comfort him, but he only coldly pushes his sister away.

I am organizing a charity dinner for the Japan tsunami relief, Zen Cafe. It's based off of the anime Ouran cafe!
The event is organized by the Japanese Culture Club (i'm the president!), at Silver Creek Highschool (still in San Jose!) and will be held on Friday April 22nd.
As part of our entertainment we have a fashion show featuring street wear and cosplay, but we need more cosplay costumes and models.
This is the third cafe we have hosted, and they have been very successful as we have raised over $600 in profits and over 150 guests. 2011's Zen Cafe is hoped to raise much more to aid the tsunami victims in japan; all profits will be donated to Red Cross.

and pre reg should open up within the next month. its 45 (ish) for the whole weekend if you pre register. but about 25 a day if you do it at the door

Fanime 2011 is just around the corner. I've been so busy with school it kind of just snuck up on me! At any rate, I'm doing my Malik Ishtar cosplay as per usual, with my buddy Freai as Mai. We didn't think this was much of a foundation for a group, but I just got two new cosplayers going as Isis and Jounouchi to join up with us and so I'm thinking arranging a photoshoot and making this thing the real deal is in order.
I would LOOOOVE to find other cosplayers to hook up with and have an epic photoshoot. YGO needs more love and I want the fans (of any of the series, even Abridged) to come on out and join forces with our smexy leather pants'd selves.

I noticed there is an Inuyasha gathering scheduled for this year, but I was wondering if there were any other Rumiko Takahashi cosplayers this year who would be interested in having a general Takahashi gathering. Are there? Ranma, Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Kyokai no Rinne (the newest one), heck even less known stuff like One Pound Gospel or Mermaid Saga--all would be welcome!
But are there enough people who would be interested? I don't particularly want to start/run a gathering, but if there are enough fans who would want to meet up, I'll try and get one going!
Oh, and to start us off:

hi im new on this forum and i just wanted to post that my and my group are having a full one piece crew with other one piece characters but we dont have any female one piece characters with us, our friends that were trying to get to cospaly as nami or robbin are planning to cosplay as another character,.

You can come check out the Nintendo/Super Smash Bros. gathering (http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,16088.0.html) on Friday and/or the Legend of Zelda gathering (http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,15125.0.html) on Saturday. Post on those threads if you're interested. Probably shouldn't smoke at those though. I imagine some cosplayers would hate the costumes they worked on for so long to smell like cigarettes.

I'll be doing a Takuto cosplay in school uniform. I'm trying my best to style the wig as best i can. This'll be my first cosplay ever, so we'll see how this goes.
I'm not sure how often i'll be actually wearing the wig, so you may see me walking around still in the school uniform, but no pink tie. I have long blond hair. Me and a friend plan on showing up on day 0 around 9 AM just for the hell of it, so come and say hi! We'll be marathon'ing Katanagatari and what's out of denpa onna so far on my ipad~
Otherwise on other days you can find me playing in the arcade. I'm pretty good at music games and djmax technika, so you may see me there, too.
I have plans to attend the bones gathering on sunday, but i also have church here at home in morgan hill on sunday from 9 am to noon, so i'll probably make it there in time, but knowing my luck sometimes, something may or may not come up.

well, considering i dont have any other cosplays, i plan on cosplaying every day. the only thing i dont like about the cosplay is that it's a pain to get my hair into a net before putting the wig on because i've grown my hair out way too long. so doing the wig would require a good mirror or something. once you know what time you're doing the photoshoot let me know so i can be ready and in the right spot!
i /do/ live a 30-40 minute drive from the convention center, and i dont have a hotel, so if the plan is to do photos and such before 11, i would definitely need to know. haha. you can also get hold of me via the AIM or MSN provided in my profile

Yeah, styling wigs are a pain in the buttocks when the character's hairstyle is gravity-defying crazy, [kinda like Takuto].
Friday: Uchiha Madara
Saturday: Pain for the Naruto gathering, Zero (Megaman X series) for the rest of the day.
Sunday: Toph (Avatar) Zero for the masquerade.
Monday: Up in the air.
