Registration / Re: "Valid Gov't Issued Photo ID"?

No... no passport or any form of ID. I'm not sure if my guardian would be able to stay for registration either....

QuoteAll FanimeCon members must have student ID or a valid government-issued ID. If an attendee is under 18 and does not have a government-issued photo ID or student ID, they can still pick up their badge if their parent or legal guardian accompanies them and the parent or legal guardian has a valid government-issued photo ID consistent with information on the attendee's registration. The parent or legal guardian is not required to purchase a badge and does not need to accompany the attendee at all times, but they will still be responsible for the attendee's actions.

Registration is going really smoothly, so I doubt you'll be in line for more than 20 minutes. Go ahead and bring your guardian.

Is there any other way to get your badge if you don't have an ID? I graduated high school, and the school made me give back my ID. I don't have a driver's license, and I'm not 18.

Do you have a passport?

Do you have anything that has your picture and name?

I was working line control for a few hours, and I actually heard some people complaining it was too short. :P

Along with this subject, you said peacebonding doesn't open until 6pm, right? What if someone has a prop and comes early to get in line? o__o

I would ask in this thread to be sure, but I think as long as you don't brandish it or hit people with it, they'll probably forgive you. Personally, I would just put it in a bag or box or something until I could get it peace bonded.

I'm 97% sure you have to be wearing the costume to get it peace bonded, since the prop is only validly peace bonded when it's with the appropriate costume.

Hi, I wanted some clarification about buying badges on site.

I want to buy a Friday only badge...so it's possible to buy a Friday badge from 12:01am until 6pm that day?

Also, if I want to attend on Sunday and I already have a Friday only badge, can I use the Special Registration line to upgrade?

If you're planning to attend both Friday and Sunday, it's cheaper to buy a weekend badge than it it to individually buy Friday and Sunday badges.

As for the other questions, I'll let the Reg Goddess get those.

There are two Peace Bonding stations this year. One will be in the Hilton near the Santa Clara Room and will be open continuously from Day Zero starting at 6pm to Noon on Monday. The other will be near the Cosplay Gatherings table and will be open Friday - Sunday 10 am - 6 pm & Monday 10 am - 12 pm.

Correction: Masquerade pre-practice is in Blossom Hill 1 & 2 (on the 3rd floor of the Marriott), not Willow Glen.

I still have not heard any information about the Blood Drive, but I'm looking into it.

EDIT: I have confirmation that there will not be a blood drive this year.

The Dance (aka the "Rave") happens at night in rooms 230, 231, and 232 of the SJCC over the course of several nights. This is the one in the dark room with electronic music.

The Black & White Ball is the formal dance that takes place Sunday night in Parkside Hall. There are also formal dance lessons/demonstrations throughout the weekend leading up to the B&W Ball also in Parkside Hall. These both involve ballroom dancing.

Hope that clears up some of the confusion.

When does the artists ally open on friday?
And will there be a rave this year?

The hours for Artist Alley are listed in the link below:
http://www.fanime.com/exhibits/#artist-alley

I think when you say "rave," you mean the Dances. These times were posted by kookiekween99 in a previous post. :)
That's what I said, but my girlfriend insists that there's a so called fanime rave. XD

The only "rave" at Fanime is the Dance. The only other thing I could think of that goes with the category of dance is the Black and White Ball, which is a formal event Sunday evening.

You may drop them off any time the Manga Lounge is open. Their hours are: 10-7 Fri, 10-8 Sat & Sun, 10-2 Monday.

You're welcome. And if you have any questions during con, you can always find an info desk or track down one of our walking teams. :)

Shuttle Info is at the bottom of this page: http://www.fanime.com/accommodations

Video schedule can be found here: http://www.fanime.com/video-programming/video-programming-schedule

As for wifi, in my experience, there is wifi, but with 25,000+ people trying to access it, it isn't very reliable, so don't count on it being there.

Oh wow, has that map been there the whole time? I had been told that it hadn't been released yet.

Anyways, Willow Glen I & II belongs to Masquerade for pre-practice, and Willow Glen III is the Idros Closet aka Donation Station for Black & White Ball.

Other than that, a quick scan over the map matches all the info I've been given.

According to the map there's going to be a blood drive this year, anyone know when?

Which map are you talking about? I haven't seen any con maps released for this year yet. (If there has been, I'd love to see!)

The last thing I heard was that they were unable to organize a blood drive this year, mostly because the people at Red Cross didn't respond to Fanime staff in time.

Do people need to print out the e-card or can it be scanned on a smart phone?

From another thread:

Phones will work if you have them at maximum brightness, but I've found the scanners are more reliable with printed QR codes.

Please print if you can.

I have allotted $350 spending money for both AA and DH. I don't really know what I'm looking for, I just kinda look around for anything that sparks my interest.
