I actually feel a lot of those fandoms are treated pretty unfairly as well, Anix.

I will acknowledge, as an MLP fan (though not one terribly active in the fandom), that some parts of the MLP fandom are gross even by Bad Parts Of Fandoms standards--but again, every fandom has its scum, and that shouldn't reflect on the entire fandom.

I should note that no more than an hour after I posted that, I got the email and a nice reply from the Fanime team. Thanks so much! <3

I might be able to attend, depending on what day it is (since I also plan on attending the Homestuck gathering, and that takes precedent for me since it's my main fandom).

If I do attend, though, I'll be Rarity! I'm pretty excited...it's my first time cosplaying MLP!

Make any male friends (or even non-pregnant friends) wear a fake belly under their outfits (can you imagine a whole Sailor Moon gathering with pregnant Sailors?).

While I've never been pregnant and never plan to be, from what I've heard about pregnancy, all the advice given so far seems pretty sound! And I'm gonna second the moon dress thing--I know very little about Sailor Moon (shameful, I know!), but the dress is gorgeous and it seems far more practical for a pregnant woman than the regular outfit. :)

I didn't have any real issues, but then again I'm not exactly a social butterfly in general.

That said, there is a lot of disdain for Homestuck in the general fandom community (both online and off--I once had a girl refuse to talk to me when I mentioned, after she had asked, that my hoodie was from Homestuck). While I do agree that the fandom has some serious issues, I honestly don't think it's that much worse than a lot of other fandoms. Its main problem, I think, stems from the fact that the overall age of Homestuck fans tends to be relatively low--largely teenagers, many as young as 13 and 14. A lot of them genuinely don't get fandom etiquette, so it kind of brings the overall "image" of the fandom down. Which is a shame!

But yeah, I do agree that a lot of people's hatred for the fans is pretty over-the-top at times.

I apologize if this has already been asked, and I know it's probably a super obvious question, but...how does one go about contouring troll makeup? I'm doing two troll cosplays this year (Damara and Meenah), and I want them to look really good, including the makeup, but I'm a bit clueless.

I have a wee bit of an issue.

I registered for Fanime last night, and I have yet to receive a confirmation email. I checked both my email accounts (including the old one I no longer use, just in case), and there's no email from Fanime, at least not in regards to this year's con.

The registration went through, I know that much. I can't remember my registration number off the top of my head, though (and have no idea where I can access it), so I'm pretty darn confused about what to do.

Could someone please help me out? :(

Okay, honest question here: WHY are we not allowed to re-audition for the same roles? I auditioned for Terezi in the 18+ panel and was rejected, for instance, but you're still looking for a Terezi. I'm sure plenty of people would be more than willing to redo their auditions, and with Fanime so very close, it would make a lot of sense for you to allow that.

Another probably-dumb question, but is body paint allowed? I plan on going to the ball as formal!Terezi, and I need to know if I'm allowed to grey up for that or not (if not, that's fine, I'm just curious).

I notice that there's still no one listed for one of the characters I auditioned for in this panel (Roxy; same with Terezi in both panels). Should I try to improve my auditions, or are you still scanning through things and trying to decide? I'll be at both panels as an observer if I don't get in, of course, I'm just curious. :3
