Title: Do you need to register for an Artist Alley table?
Post by: mekalai on June 07, 2008, 12:27:14 AM
Hi guys.

Me and a friend are thinking about setting up a table in the Artist Alley. All I know is it costs something like 20 dollars, right? But where/when do I pay for that? Is it related to the registration itself? Do I need to contact someone?

I was just wondering, since I was hoping to maybe set up a table next year. Is it possible? Or am I too late -- did I need to sign up at the convention itself for that?

Thanks,
_Ricci

There's usually a whole section about that on the main website... but I'd say to check back in a few months to see if the website has the Artist's Alley information page up, first. You're not late, you're just a wee bit... too early. (:

But with the way AA was this year, it's never too early

I recommend that you mail [email protected] immediately and get official word.  There is actually a rather good chance that you're already too late.  I know the 2009 contracts are already available because the 2008 artists got 2009 contracts before the 2008 convention was over.  I imagine most of the artists would want to come back given how good 2008 was, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were already out of space just due to existing artists wanting more tables next year.  In any case, don't wait.  If you wait until everybody else sees the 2009 instructions and contract on the web, you'll have to race all of the web visitors for a table.

Oh, dang, very true.

But who doesn't like friendly online competition? xD

It doesn't hurt to send an email just to ask, at any rate.  I think for 2008 that the information went up sometime in October 2007 and there was a deadline of the end of December to send in the registration.

But I may be mistaken about the dates.  Hence the importance of getting the facts from a more reliable source ...  ;D
