Now imagine that over a 3 or 4 day weekend...3-4 conventions a year.
On a related note, we're setting up a web site where we'll post past contest results, "Most Requested" lists, articles on song recommendations for those looking to expand their j-music horizons, and also, our song library list, so that for those who want to save time at-con, you can just look up the numbers online before the con. Stay tuned for an update/announcement!

Mm. Include that Instrumentals and Karaoke versions are your FRIENDS.
On another note, filling yourself with energy drinks pre-Karaoke is a BAD thing. :\

..I'll probably lose hope of life if I had that experiences.. :-X Imagine feeling sick of all my favorite songs..what else can I listen to? I think you guys should recruit more people so that each person has less chance of reaching his/her maximum capacity.
The web site is a really good idea! I'm especially looking forward to see the song recommendations, since I'm a big fan of doujin music (or artists originally started as doujin singers/composers, such as rekka karakiri, haruka shimotsuki and sound horizon)
I sang at the open mic! I was the one and probably the only one who sang the Naruto Ondo!

that would be awsome!! i wanted to know what all the previous finalists sang, for future reference ^^
Let me guess- I was the only one who did Birthday Cake, or anything else by Cibo Matto, for that matter? ;P
i was the only silly girl who did "Ukifune" by gogo7188 o.o
If anyone was there at night on Saturday, I was the "poor unfortunate soul" that took things back to the past with the remake of the Mazinger Z theme
wow
i didn't expect 1000 no kotoba. that seemed pretty old
man, i really wanna try singing next year instead of just watching
you don't have to actually be good at singing to participate right? ???

Same here I sung it Friday night. Luckily I had it on my mp3 player so I didn't have to sing it acapella. That had to be one of my favorite moments of the con. Though I kinda feel bad for the chick cosplaying Venasaur that I surprised glomped afterward. ;D
I sang "Real Emotion" with my friend.
We sucked.
xDD I was the cubby Yuki on Saturday.
Next year, I wanna sing Be a Man from Mulan with my friend. xDD
im happy sakura kiss is first. I love that song and the movie. im surprised the pokemon and sailormoon songs are on. but It is good. i wonder how you guys going to put it together.
Let's get some Mr. Roboto in there! And how about some Rush while we're at it? I wasn't at Fanime last year, is it all anime music, or other stuff too?
Other stuff works too (two years ago I did an Elite Beat Agents song).
:D I'd looove to see the website. :) And I think the music I listen to...is nothing like what other anime watchers listen to. xD AHHA.
I hope they'll be a deeceentt list of Jrock/Jpop up there too~ OwO
The whole karaoke event sounds fun but sadly I'm too much of a wuss to sing on stage. If I had the guts, I'd sing songs by Gackt, Nightmare and Malice Mizer.

HEY! YOU!! YES YOU~~~
xD I looove Nightmare. D: I'd sing with you!~ But I'm a wuss as well~ I think singing in front of otakus is a little easier? Rather than say, a national show. O_O;
Or a national show for otakus!

It's anime, j-rock/j-pop, and selected songs from American cartoons. We do not have "mainstream music" but you are welcome to bring it on a CD or other device (for a complete list, see open mic rules which will be posted next month).

Aren't you forgetting video games too? (There were songs from Elite Beat Agents on the selection list at Fanime 2007)
Don't forget that Eurobeat counts as J-Pop, and is also found in game soundtracks and Initial D.
(It's also in ENGLISH~)
Yes, my bad- video games are also included.
can i requested this song called yakusoku or here we go by chikara shinjuru!
