Title: Probaly a really stupid question...were?
Post by: Uzumaki-san on June 21, 2008, 04:23:07 PM
Ok you may think this is a stupid question that should be asked some where else, but I'm not exactly sure where, so I posted here.

I'm new and stuff, and have absolutely no idea were the cosplays or cons are held. My parents told me I could go, if I found out two things: Were they where and how much they cost if I had to pay.
If you can answer these questions...I'd be really happy~! Thanks in advance.

We cosplay during Fanime Con.

FanimeCon itself is in San Jose, CA. It's very easy to get to; it's inbetween (and inside) the Marriot and Hilton hotels inside the San Jose Convention Center.

Urrmm...I think the dates for next year's Fanime will be something like May 22nd-25th, 2009. I think anyways. The Official 2009 site will be up in July at fanime.com. :)

The cost is fairly cheap (for admission) if you pre-register at its earliest stages, which they will announce on the fanime website. During fanime (2008) you could register for $25.00 (I missed that...T.T). I think the price range will be about $30-35.00 in the beginning for the entire weekend. Prices will continue to rise from there until pre-registration is over (about mid-May). However, if you choose to only go for a day, and pay at the door (which I HIGHLY DO NOT reccommend) the individual day has a different price.

I always pre-register now, no matter how long I plan on staying. It's cheaper. The line to get in is WAY shorter. And it's much less of a hassle. Believe me, you do NOT want to pay at the door. The line can take an average of two-three hours, I've heard even four at times. O.O;;

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. There's no such thing as a dumb question. ^___^

A-Kon is supposed to be a lot of fun, and it's in Dallas.

We'd love to have you at Fanime, but if you'd rather stay a little closer to home A-Kon could be a good place to go.   :D

Yep yep yep. San Jose, CA. You would most definitely need to fly out, unless you caught a train or a ride. >.<

Ya know, whenever I lived in TX there was only Akon, and I never got to go.  TT_TT
Now there's like a ton of cons out there since I moved out here to SJ, but then again I like it here and would never leave.
