R.I.P. George Carlin
May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008
Yesterday the great God of comedy, George Carlin, has passed away from heart failure. He was announced dead today at 5:55pm while at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica.
Though he may be gone, he lived every moment of his life doing comedy. He made millions of people happy (and offended just as many), including myself. He will be missed and never forgotten. His memory will love on through his stand-up and books, and in the hearts of his loving family and adoring fans.
George Carlin was more than a hero to me, he was a teacher. I will miss him dearly.
May your soul float up and get stuck in a roof and your body either blown up or thrown out of a plane and left there. I'll personally make sure the dogs don't get to you.
I always wanted to go on a most excellent adventure, and now there's no reason to.
I saw this earlier somewhere and I was sad. My friend was like..."Shocked" I believe?
I just heard about it on the news. :'(

I never got to see him perform live.
I just remember him as the Cardinal in the movie:
Dogma.
Hopefully he's in a better place. :)
I wonder if he's run into Good Buddy Jesus yet.
EDIT: On further consideration, it seems more likely that he's having a good time playing hard to get (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frisbeetarianism#Religion).
It's hard to think of a world without his wit. What an exciting entertainer to watch.

You and me both my friend. At least he won't be giving us bj's for a ride across country (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reference).
He played Rufus? Aw man. :-[

Most non-triumphant, he was a great entertainer and just a great man all around. He will be greatly missed.
