I had a great idea for a contest that involves the theme for FanimeCon '09 - music.
It should be a mashup contest, but here's the twist - it should be a mashup of East meets West, meaning it has to include anime, game, J-Rock, J-Pop, anything from Japan, but can be mixed with all other genres (rock, rap, techno, etc.).
Good idea?

How do you prevent someone stealing someone else's work?
Simple. You submit at FanimeCon via CD.

You act as if it's hard to find a song on the internet, download it, burn it to a cd, and then submit it.
I doubt that the staffers and what not would know everything done on the internet to be able to say something is copied or not. Especially when there are a lot of dedicated groups that do stuff like this, even on the JP side.
Crap, you're right.
It sounded like a good idea when I first thought of it...
