Thanks, everyone. It's kind of funny to think that most of, if not all of you, met me when I was 16. Including Pyron.

What, was it not clear that he was the local pedophile? I guess not anymore. That's Mizuki's job.

I've had a wonderful week celebrating so far, and will finally end it with a day with close friends tomorrow. Kazuko~ Come early so we can watch HSM3 and bust our wallets in Sephora!

But anyway, I really appreciate the thread wishing me a happy birthday. Thanks, and it was really sweet of all of you. Despite all the heated debates, hard feelings, and people cowering in fear, a good chunk of all of you turned out to be very nice people. Except a few. (I'm looking at you, Mizuki...)

As for the ice cream cake, haha, I dunno. We have a mocha mousse cake in the fridge, along with a chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, a ton of candy, and Kazuko and I are supposedly baking cookies tomorrow. I think an ice cream cake would be an overkill. lol

Welp, my birthday will be over in officially 7 minutes from now. I no longer have health insurance!

So, for those who've already reached your big 18th, I'm curious-- what'd you guys do?

So, for those who've already reached your big 18th, I'm curious-- what'd you guys do?

1) Bought porn. Just for shits and giggles. Bunch of my friends went with me and were like, "Today, you are a man".

I laughed, I cried, I was like damn that chick is f'ing hot.

2) Bought a pack of cigs. Just because you can. I gave the pack to a co-worker who smoked, so it wasn't a complete waste.

3) My family isn't huge on birthdays, so I got a small cake.

4) Prom was actually the same day as my birthday. Most people completely forgot, which I wasn't too worried. They were completely engrossed in the whole "OH EM GEE PROM IS TODAY" deal. I went to Prom on my birthday....lol

5) Had an all night sleep over thing at a friends house. Lots of video games, movies, and weird shit happening to certain people when they fall asleep.

Oh boy what did I do during my 18th year, I don't Smoke but I did buy one pack for a friend just for shits and giggles seeing if I pass as 18. Never did buy any lotto tickets or Porn. I'm not going to Join the Armed Forces. My only high point of me being 18 was getting into the Hentai room at Fanime last year.

Now 21 that's the year I'm Gung-ho for (Kazuko you lucky *@#%$)

I had my 18th birthday about two months ago...
Let's see, my eldest brother took us out to dinner at my favorite Korean place on the weekends.
I had all my friends there....
My other brother bought me a cake... Don't remember what it was called...
My mom flew over from Asia with many gifts. ^^

Not to mention I was eating a lot of desserts until the end of the month...

I don't know. I think I kind of spoiled myself before the whole 18 thing.

1. Porn. I mean really, what teenager actually follows the whole 18+ rule?

2. Cigarettes always readily available as there is a new carton of Mild Sevens every month.

3. Clubbing, I guess. But I already have gone clubbing many a time, already, and it's lost its luster. 18+ clubs are normally really retarded, too.

But I guess there's always being able to sign my own documents, I guess. ww Also, I can't even count how many jobs turned my applications away because I was underage.

It was really funny though... She used my birthday excuse to buy herself more stuff...
Like she put an amount of money into one of her cards and said she would buy me stuff with it. Heheh. She got carried away with shopping so she had to take me shopping and buy me stuff with her other cards.

Well, at least she doesn't buy me stuff on her own anymore.
Her sense of fashion scares me...

I'm having my sister's birthday cake right now. ^^

Haha, sounds like my mum a bit. We went shopping in a huge Sephora boutique last night, and I wanted to pick out some stuff for my her because she rarely wears make-up on a regular basis, so I wanted to find stuff that'd fit her schedule and skin-type. What happened ended up to be her going completely excited to find everything, and ended up buying much more than we had initially planned to. I picked up some stuff for myself, too, but she decided to treat me by paying and bought me even more additional stuff. Our total came down to about $450 on cosmetics, alone. XD;

Now your mom sounds a lot like mine in a way... I've seen it, the $500 cosmetic spree... The only thing I find weird is, we can go shopping for clothes and buy designer jeans, but my mom doesn't want me wearing make-up because she fears the chemcials in the make-up will mess up my face... Though that's rather hypocritical since she cakes her own face because she loves make-up. xD

I just remembered that my mom still buys me stuff without telling me......
And the only thing she buys me nowadays is chocolate... I don't mind that. Lol.
She doesn't buy me clothes anymore because I complain about her sense of fashion...

Hahaha. Actually, I could say confidently that there are many ways to maintain healthy skin whilst wearing cosmetics, now. Technology has changed quite a bit, and a lot of brands aim to even be BENEFICIAL to wear. Lots of primers, lip color, etc, are made to moisturize. A lot of lines by many different brands try to utilize antioxidants and organic ingredients to promote health. Skin care products have improved too, especially in moisturizers and cleansers. The use of mineral cosmetics is becoming popular, too. There are a lot of old methods that are still in use and are safe for skin. If anything smells funky, I refuse to put it on my skin.

I'm more well-informed in terms of cosmetics in comparison to my mother, as I was the one who served as her adviser in terms of what suits her skin type, routine, style, etc. Funny thing is, I didn't even wear make-up before this year. =P

I think my mom may still be in the mindset when maikos and geishas still used lead and mercury on their faces.. >.>;
I don't know.. I still use make-up though and my mom doesn't seem to notice at all.
Either that or I try not to wear make-up when I visit my mom...
I love Anna Sui, Shu Uemura, and MAC....Well for now, I still need to look for better mascara and liquid eyeliner.

Haha, the lead in most facial powders and face-paints existed in Europe and Asia like centuries ago. What do you normally do? From what I recall, I met you during your graduation ceremony and your face looked pretty natural. A lot of people that wear cosmetics try to find things that make them look naturally flawless, without any unnatural colors. I enjoy experimenting with colors.

What do you have by Anna Sui? I wanted to pick up some products when we either go to SoCal or Japan soon to try it out. As for Shu Uemura products, I've tried a few things and was impressed by their eyeshadow and lip color here and there, but some things didn't seem worth the price when I had a preference for other brands. And I own a decent amount of MAC stuff.

Have you tried using a gel eyeliner? Because MAC has some pretty good ones. Liquid eyeliner, I'd point Doir liquid eyeliner in your direction, or for less, Lancome's "artliner". Both of these are better for precision, because they're used like pens rather than those tiny brushes that move around and take too much time to perfectly apply. They're also less irritating to most. And mascara, I use Too Faced's "eyelash injection" for volume, but if you're going for length, then I think Doir's Doirshow mascara is perfect for just that.

From what I recall, I met you during your graduation ceremony and your face looked pretty natural. A lot of people that wear cosmetics try to find things that make them look naturally flawless, without any unnatural colors. I enjoy experimenting with colors.
Welll..... Er... That was when I had only lip gloss on.... >.>;
I just woke up after a long nap.. Lol, wasn't really prepared.

Let's see... I have, foundation, powder, lipstick and lip gloss from Anna Sui. I think her store is pretty popular in Japan...
I especially like the lip gloss that is clear white, but when applied on your lips changes according to your body temperature... ^^

I'm using MAC's gel liner right now... Kinda have a small issue with trying to get the line to be finer... Lol.

I forgot to mention... Bobbi Brown's brushes are hella expensive but soft... ^______^;
I need to get back there and buy the whole set of brushes when I have the time and money.

You looked fine! The dress you wore was adorable, and since it didn't seem like you wore any heavy make up, it makes you look younger.

Yeah, Anna Sui is possibly more popular in Japan than it is here, but there are boutiques in LA, New York, and Tokyo from what I remember. Whichever I go first, which will probably be either this month when we go to SoCal, or next month when we go to Japan, I'll be sure to dig up their shop. Their addresses should be listed on their website. lol

Their packaging can be cute, it seems, especially the foundation bottles-- I use HD foundation by Makeup For Ever. I wanted to try Anna Sui lip colors and powder.

A close friend of mine told me that I should try Bobbi Brown products when I have the chance. I bought my brushes from this really cute limited edition set of Smashbox brushes (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml%3B$sessionid$FS20TCIBOZJ2ECV0KRRQQAQ;jsessionid=FS20TCIBOZJ2ECV0KRRQQAQ?id=P223531&categoryId=A47). Softness and texture is really important. As for the gel eyeliner, to make it finer, brush your eyeliner brush into the liner, then wipe off excess product on the sides of the container (like the lips of the container, not actually the side) to shape the brush into a more finer shape at the tips. Then, when you apply, don't apply too much pressure where the line will become thicker, rather run it along your lashline while only using the tips of the brush to apply. You have to be gentle, otherwise, it'll result the same way with any liquid liner if you aren't.

You must buy their pressed powder... It's SOOOOOOOOOOO adorable.
Their colors are really vibrant, but I find the excessive glitter on some of their stuff a bit extreme...

Their brushes are hella expensive though. Like almost 100 dollars for the biggest brush, but I've been told by a friend of mine that it lasts well over three years, so it's probably worth it...

Anyway, since Kazuko posted photos of some of her cosmetics on the Member Pics thread, I decided to take a few of my own, but I decided against posting them on that thread so I don't spam the hell out of people with cosmetic photos. ww

- - -

Yay! Posting my collection with photos, too. Nothing really special, other than the pretty designer Juicy Couture gift tissue these were taken on given to me by Mikey's awesome birthday gift. :D

My camera phone sucks, plus, it doesn't have flash so you can clearly see my shadow blocking my mediocre lighting. I swear, if I am to ever get into photography, I am splurging on lighting equipment.

Here we go! PREPARE FOR BEAUTY SPAM. : DDDDDD

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Fskincare.jpg&hash=f9fc4cdab69edb5853692701c9efe2d92012ecbc) (https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Ffacemake.jpg&hash=2dc93ae6d9ecf70612e86033a09400fce35bb43e)

On the right is my semi-daily skincare regimen. If you think that's a lot, there's more in the shower which was too wet to put on the tissue, but no point in posting those anyway. The top two containers, right is Nordic Skin Peel by Skyn, which is a chemical exfoliant, and the right is moisturizer/brightening cream from Sekkisei Kose. Then from left to right in tubes/bottles are a deep facial cleanser by Biore, a exfoliating scrub by H2^O+, Shiseido toner, lotion and body milk from Sala, and a generic oil-blotting tissue.

On the left photo is face cosmetics, MAC Studio Fix powder foundation, Make-Up For Ever HD foundation (Yes, foundation comes in HD now!), Bare Essentials mineral veil finishing powder, highlighter in Dandelion by Benefit, cheek stains in Posh, Fierce, and Chic by Tarte Couture, Benefit powder concealer, mineral foundations and concealer by Sheer Cover, and blushes from MAC and Lorac.

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Flipcolor.jpg&hash=dae3854217a529ae34534ff38e5daa30fa4a3c8a) (https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Feyesmake.jpg&hash=2c14fb010f969ac1bbd1d7e8db0a8bd18a373058)

Left photo is selected lip colors that I like and use most often. From left to right are a couple of Stila lip glazes, Buxom Lips in Bambi by Bare Essentials, vitamin-infused lipgloss in 40 Winks by Tarte, a couple of lip sticks by Benefit, a gloss by Beauty Rush Victoria's Secret, and another lipstick by Stila. My favorites are the Buxom Lips and Tarte lip glosses.

Right is eye make-up, the huge palette ion the left is a limited edition Book of Shadows by Urban Decay featuring their most popular shadows, a pot of Benefit cream shadow/liner, a pot of MAC gel liner, a cool MAC liner that's all shiny blue-green, MAC eyeliner pencils, a couple of drug-store liner pens and liquid pens, black soft kohl by Rimmel London, Glam Eyes mascara by Rimmel London, my favorite mascara by Too Faced called Lash Injection, A couple of shadows by Lorac and Too Faced, and some off to the side by Prestige and Maybeline from when I was too cheap to buy other brands.

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Fbodymist.jpg&hash=e477427aba487d84c350eba71aeab491a6762a57) (https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2Facessories.jpg&hash=2dc9cea6d4c4e4856b876b4b7ec63472e02cc4a5)

A photo of the lovely Victoria's Secret body mists I got from Kazuko, and my must-take-with-me accessories which are that limited edition plaid Hello Kitty clutch, that huge compact mirror, and occasionally that face brush I got from Sheer Cover.

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi232.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee298%2Fshoegazer_tokyo%2FP223531_hero.jpg&hash=f27b15f0d5790bc174807eaef103195bb796295d)

And here's the Smashbox brush set I spoiled myself with.

Aren't you grateful that I didn't post this on the Member Pics thread? lol

In the first image:
The four items on the left side are two sets of foundation and primer. The top set is composed of my liquid foundation, followed by UV foundation primer from the Coffret D'Or collection by Kanebo.  Under that, we have the Anna Sui liquid foundation and primer respectively.  On the far right side, we have foundation by Bobbi Brown and a mousse type primer by Shu Uemura.  Now some people have been wondering why I would have three sets of foundation... For me it's just personal choice from day to day... And the fact I'm still trying out different types of foundation, so far I'm about to ditch Kanebo and stick with Anna Sui since it gives me a smoother texture.
In the center, the first row is composed of Bobbi brown products.  We have the neutral colors eyeshadow (with an insane amount of glitter in them), and loose powder.  The next row is brown tints and quarto-colored blush from Maquillage by Shisedo.  Third row is basically two pressed powder by Kanebo and Anna Sui respectively... I'm leaning towards the Anna Sui pressed powder since the case is cuter and the powder is well, more fine...

In the second image:
The top row is made up of all MAC cosmetics except the bottle with the clear stuff in it. First we have the cream color base for the eyes, followed by a Blushbaby blush.  The pink compact is a limited edition three color set (white, pink and dark purple) from MAC. The next item is a thermal lip gloss from Anna Sui that changes color according to your temperature; trust me, it gets very pink.... And then followed by a fruity limited edition lip gloss from MAC.
Second row is composed of an Anna Sui mirror, two mascaras from Shu Uemura and Mac, two lipsticks from Shisedo and Bobbi Brown, and lip gloss from Bobbi Brown.  The last bottle there is the gel eyeliner from MAC.

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh318%2FFreaky_Nobody%2FPB110615.jpg&hash=4e8eb44f02457dd72a88e55f25f70ec466fc81d2)(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh318%2FFreaky_Nobody%2FPB110617.jpg&hash=3cda37317898541684cc9ee1439b3bbd6107a600)

Third Picture:
We have my brush collection with an Anna Sui Mirror.
The first and second brush are both for well, anywhere you want it to go, from Bobbi Brown and Oriental Princess... The third is a blush brush from Shu Uemura. The fourth and fifth brush are both eyeshadow brushes from MAC. Sixth is the only thing I got from Sephora... Seventh is also from MAC... Eight brush looks a bit dirty but that's because I had a hard time using the gel eyeliner from MAC.  Next comes another Oriental Princess eyebrow brush... Followed by two lip gloss/stick brushes from Anna Sui and Mac... The last item is a two in one lipstick and gloss from Shisedo. The two items above all those brushes are pencil liners in different color from Anna Sui...

Fourth Picture:
Exclusively from Anna Sui... I bought the black box a long time ago and uses it to store my nail stuff... In the back we have hand cream, and nail polish remover... Infront of that we have three bottles of nail polish: Enamel, base coat, and gold glitter... I forgot where I put my black nail polish, and I haven't found the time or monies to buy more colors....  And the cute rose looking thing is a pink lipstick, followed by clear lipgloss with stars in them.  I also bought the eyeliner pencil sharpener and their nail file, too bad they don't have the entire nail clippers and such collection......

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi67.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fh318%2FFreaky_Nobody%2FPB110618.jpg&hash=56ee370d8ec0a70b184784d919cffa057a2ff82a)
I also found those lying around... More Anna Sui stuff.  Eye cream, moisturizing mist, and liquid liner....

-----------

I'm still saving up money to buy eyeshadow in more colors... Probably going to MAC and creating a palette for that, and when I get the chance to visit the nearest Anna Sui, I'll probably pick up more nail polish colors.... =3
Oh yeah. I need to get Anna Sui's brush and bag collection too. ^^

Haha, thanks Jazz.

And DARN YOU GUYS with your cameras!

And DARN YOU REI-REI for being from a wealthy family!

*Shakes fist at you all.*

What do you recommend I get at Anna Sui when I get there, Rei-rei? I want one of the foundations (just to have a lighter one AND to have the bottle), eye color and blush (they're very vibrant, aren't they?) and I really wanted the DOLLY GIRL Bonjour L'Amour lipsticks, but they were limited edition. Augh, I wanted them so bad. Oh, by the way, I recall you living around Sacramento so how do you normally purchase your stuff? Do you order online?

Plus, is it me, or are MAC brushes not very impressive sometimes? Some lines are wonderful, yes, but most others don't seem up to par with up to par, especially Bobbi Brown brushes. Plus, out of all the brands you're using, why are you using Kanebo as a primer? I'll be okay with using Kanebo for soap and what have you, but not a preference for cosmetics. (Maybe cute drug store lip balms.)

And Kazuko, what I say about hooking me up at Victoria's Secret? I want my bras and lotions, biznatch. I should get new bras soon, though-- before I go to Japan, even. Too bad bras are like $40. I don't wear much fragrances, but mainly because I can't afford the ones I like, like the one by Misaki Matsushima Pretty&Pink (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P179307&categoryId=C17790), the Marc Jacob's Daisy (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P191858&categoryId=C14812) line, Chance (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?productID=FWCHA09V%5B/url) by CHANEL, and the Miss Dior Cherie (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P219911&categoryId=B23) fragrance. I've been meaning to pick out a fragrance I like on Mikey, too,  but I'm not sure what's suitable yet.

Oh speaking of Mikey, Rei-rei, you asked what he got me for my birthday. Along with dinner and leaving a huge tip, paying for one of my Sephora orders that were over $50, and my favorite of all, the Pave Heart necklace he bought me from Juicy Couture. I don't even take it off until I shower, now. : D

Here's a picture, but me and Mikey agree that it looks better in person.

(https://forums.fanime.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcn1.kaboodle.com%2Fhi%2Fimg%2F2%2F0%2F0%2Fef%2F8%2FAAAAAhRpZUsAAAAAAO-ICw.jpg&hash=5e3836fbe428272993da84d9b3b530cb94dd484a)

I play with the pendant when I'm idling which has proven to be, despite it size, quite heavy.

Yeah, I love the body mists! And yes, Miss Dior Cherie is absolutely wonderful. I sort of like Vera Wang's new fragrance, but it doesn't feel like something I'd use very often. Same with Juicy, while I really like their new fragrance too (and it even smells Juicy!), I think the fragrance is too loud and trendy for everyday wear.

But you know I'm going to buy you stuff in Japan anyway. loooool. If you want me to make special purchases for you, though, you need to give me the moolah to buy it! I'm going to be really limited on cash. ;;

Wealthy family?? Lol I'm faaaaaaaaar from that. True I get a moderate allowance, but I practically spend nothing from day to day. I go to school and come home.... That's all... When I splurge on make-up, I practically have no money to buy clothes for a year.... >.>; And that's like... Once or twice a year that I get to splurge like that.

Well, I believe there are six colors in two (maybe three different categories).  I'm not sure if I remember them having a gel based foundation, but as you can see, the white round bottle in the first picture is the liquid foundation that I got for mixed skin (dry on some areas, and oily on the T-zone area).  The two different categories have the same six colors, the categories are basically for different skin types.. (I remember there's one for dry skin and one for mixed skin) You could ask them on arrival to help you choose your color, or do what I did, have them blotch all the similar colors from all the types of foundation they have on your face... I tried on A LOT of make-up when I was at Anna Sui.. I believe I took about an hour trying different types of make up there alone, and out of all the Anna Sui stores I've been in, they were pretty helpful.  I think they have the dry gel/powder foundations that they'll show... You could buy those but I prefer the smooth liquid foundation.  The bottle I got is the B02 bottle, but you probably would want something lighter (I believe your skin tone is lighter than mine..)  And something I did not find out until I was at the shop... If you by their pressed powder, you have to pay for the powder and case separately, since the powder itself is not attached to the case... I think it's called a refillable?

They have two sections in their eyeshadow, the cream type eyeshadow, and the normal powder type (like MAC's palettes).  THe colors are waaaaaaay more vibrant than MAC's stuff.... The gel/cream ones are usually the one with glitter, and the the matte ones may or may not have glitter (they have a lot more colors than their website shows.) Unlike MAC, Anna Sui doesn't give you the option of building a palette, so you'll have to buy individuals.

I've never really liked their blushes too much, I think the colors are very, dark and somewhat dull, I'm not sure if it has changed or not since I don't pay much attention to that area...

Oh I suggest you try out their "golden sunblock" lotion for shits and giggles... >.>;
I looked like the sun after I applied it all over my arms and legs one day....

Also most of these things almost never come in complete compacts with the tiny brushes... You'll have to buy brushes separately, or use the brushes you normally use for make up...

Quote from: Jun-Watarase on November 11, 2008, 02:08:49 PM
Oh, by the way, I recall you living around Sacramento so how do you normally purchase your stuff? Do you order online?
Technically, you could order online I guess... I believe that's what my sister did to *cough* copy *cough* my Anna Sui collection....
The Anna Sui stuff, I brought over when I moved to the US (which is like 2 and a half years ago). I still constantly visit the Anna Sui stores when I go back though... I don't recommend buying any make up online unless you've been to one of the stores and tried on their products...
I've tried to look for Anna Sui in San Francisco but with no luck...
You can buy their stuff here after you visited their shop:
http://www.annasuibeauty.com/site/welcome.htm (http://www.annasuibeauty.com/site/welcome.htm)
Though I don't know why, the bottles on their website are different from mine, and as far as I'm aware of, I've been to Anna Sui in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand, all the foundation bottles and whatnot look like my bottles. (The latest I've been there was during the Summer..) And their color sets are incomplete in almost every category...

Kanebo was on like, a 40% discount... And well it it's decent, better than some other brands... It feels really comfortable on your face, but I guess as I used the microscope mirrors, they weren't as fine as Anna Sui.. Not to mention the Anna Sui stuff smells GORGEOUS....

Some MAC brushes deserves a F+.... Honestly I don't know why I spent the money... They're like wooden sticks with horsehair, wrapped and held together by tin foil.... The white blush brush I got that was from MAC was horrible, the hairs kept on falling out. I eventually threw it away and went with the current Shu Uemura one in the picture.... The wooden sticks on the brushes felt really cheap... =\
Bobbi brown brushes are like godly...... Shiny and very soft.... But oh man... After I paid for the brush, I wanted to dig a grave for myself. T.T;

I've actually got samples from the Marc Jacob's Daisy... I love the smell, the only thing I don't like about it is that the fragrance doesn't last long at all... It somewhat changes and diminishes easily... I actually walked around the mall and got samples of lots of perfume... And ended up with Miss Dior Chere... Though I think the fragrance is a bit.... Too girly to be me.  I would say I love the perfumes for men at Burberry's... But I can't afford that stuff... -.-;
Mikey might like them?

Haha, I assumed your family was at least upper middle-class, because, well, Sean's family definately is, so it seemed like that sort of income was average in your private school. XD Plus, quite a bit of the caucasian girls there seemed pretty spoiled.

But yes, I'm definitely only buying things from Anna Sui once I get to try them in-person. I was wondering how you ordered them, because you live so far away from all the stores, here. There isn't one in San Francisco, but I believe there's one in Melrose down in LA. I can't wait until I go! I'm definitely going to pick up at least foundation, eyeshadow, and lip pigments, but still am bummed out that the dolly limited edition lip sticks are discontinued.

But yes, Kanebo can be decent, especially in comparison to most drugstore brands (I refuse to buy most of the stuff you find in Walgreens, especially if it smells funny.) I use some Kanebo products, but only for very simple stuff, whereas for most I would prefer something more higher-quality. My favorite primer so far is the Photofinish primer from Smashbox. The texture is crazy smooth, like satin.

As for Marc Jacob's Daisy, yeah, I admit it's actually pretty light. But pertaining why perfumes change in aroma over time, it's because professional perfumes are built to have certain notes in fragrance to appear at different times. The initial scent is the impression that you get from the perfume when you apply it, which is called the top note. As time passes, what lasts the longest once the top notes dissipate, the heart notes appear. At the end when the heart notes are about to depart comes the base notes, which are the last impression of the fragrance that doesn't appear until at least a half hour later. Cool, huh? Professional perfume nez's have to pay attention to the body and construction of perfume based on creating notes that go well together.

And that necklace is so cute! I love Juicy Couture stuff, so I was really surprised and elated by the thoughtfulness of Mikey's gift, and the fact that he remembers the brands I like. =)

EDIT: Oh yeah! Speaking of Mikey and fragrances, I do like some of Burberry scents, though I'm not well acquainted with them, I'm not familiar at all with their men's fragrances. Also, I'm not even sure what's suitable for Mikey yet. He's pretty masculine, but not over-the-top. I wonder if he pulls off nautical scents.

Some perfumes like the Miss Dior Chere retain their unique fragrance longer... Daisy is very... Fragile, when I expose the perfumes to harsher environments, Miss Dior Chere seems to be the more resistant to change... That's what I was having a hard time with...
I love the initial smell of Daisy.. (and was going to buy it) but after a while... I really didn't like the secondary smell.... Now that I think about it.. I would rather buy Daisy... >.>; Sigh......

Haha, well, Mikey needed to ask for some help from one of my friends too. He's good, but not that good. XD

I don't really know when they discontinued the dolly girl bonjour l'amore lipsticks, but I do know that they're gone and almost impossible to get a hold of. And yes, it's very much true that Miss Dior Cherie > Daisy Marc Jacobs. Daisy is a very casual fragrance, and I do admit it's fragile. But again, it's very casual and cheaper/available than most professional fragrances from what I recall, but I'm too lazy to look it up right now. I mean, if you were to give me the option of with I'd want more, it'd definitely be Miss Dior Cherie.

I really like the smell of Tarte cosmetics. They all have their own scents most of the time, and they don't smell too cheap and toy-like, either. Tarte cosmetics aren't super expensive, either-- I love them for their cheek stains and lip glosses.

Yeah, that would be fun. Maybe even save up a ton of money to go on vacation and blow it all at Melrose. lol

But yeah, currently I don't have the money for fragrances but I'll probably pick up either Misaki Matsushima's Pretty&Pink and maybe Miss Dior Cherie for myself one day. I pretty much just wear the mists I have from VS and Bath and Body Works (plus the new VS mists from Kazuko) for after I shower, and leave with that. I heard the lotions of L'Occitane are pretty good, so I have some for the winter coming in the mail soon. I'm VEEEEEEERY picky when it comes to cream-lotions because some of them feel like you're spreading butter into your pores. But for winter, some water-based moisturizers just aren't enough. You should invest into finding scentless or lightly scented lotions, though. The fragrances are said to not be very good for skin. And since you plan on using perfumes, anyway, it isn't much of a loss.

Now, go do your essay!

I've only wore it four times, once for a joke and three times for a Halloween costume and two of those times was just a bit of eyeliner under one eye. (For Alex from A Clockwork Orange from two years ago and this Halloween for a Blackeye.)

Hahaha. Cosmetic artists that work specifically in theatrical cosmetics and ones that work for beauty are COMPLETELY different. With theatrical make-up, it's your job to make the actors and actresses look adequate for presentation, e.g. less flaws or emphasizing certain areas, highlighting, shading, etc. But theatrical cosmetics breaks into huge sub-categories that are significantly different from each other-- in cinematic make-up, the aim is to simply make the characters seem natural or flawless, or special effects make-up, which can turn out to be very extreme and include the use of prosthetics, mostly in horror films. Theatrical make up is also very extreme and distinguished, because they have to make sure that the people in the audience are able to make out the characters' features.

And beauty make-up is a more open field. When it's to present a product, they have to make sure that everything is applied onto the model's face, professionally, so that everything appears consistent and of the likeness of what the product should look like if included in your look. With photoshoots and runway modeling, it's a more open field. The models are the make up artists' canvas, the photographer is the one that captures and interprets it so artists must make sure that it'll appear nicely on film. Preferences of what the make generally should be is dependent on the client or what the photos are for.

Oh well... Err...
Going back to the make-up thing...
I'm trying out the new Anna Sui eyeliner that I haven't used before....
And well trying to apply it differently on my eyes.
Just need some feedback... =3
This obviously isn't the greatest since I did it in a rush.... But yeah.
Tell me what you think.

Thank you.  =D
How do you mess it up? I remember when I was still really bad at using mascara, I often smeared it on my eyeshadow a bit when I tried to brush it up...
Now, I normally just brushed the mascara left and right a couple of times more than brush it up, since it'll be thicker if you brushed it left and right... I only brush it up when I'm satisfied with the volume....
Sometimes I find my hand shaking a lot when I try to move it... So I'd just keep it still and turn my head left and right a little to help the brush get into the little corners near my nose...

I often mess up the bottom... xD I can't get close enough to my eyes so i have the tips being dark and it looks weird.....

XP I meant using the eyeliner part my hand tends to tremble a little or whatever D:

:T I need to invest in some mascara though it makes my eyelashes all dry and stick together sometimes i guess it does that >w<

Your eyes are beautiful! I wish mine were, but I never know how to pose them in my photos and I always end up looking tired. I'm terrible at curling my lashes, too.

As for eyeliner, normally what people do is lightly pull the skin so it's easier to run the liner on your lashline. That's pretty much it. The supposed proper way to apply it is to draw it from the outside and in, a little past the iris on the top, and right at the end of the iris on the bottom, becoming thinner as you go in.

I have horrible allergies today, so I keep rubbing my eyes. It's terrible. I feel really conscious of putting on any eye make-up when I'm all irritated like this, and it really sucks, because if I put any on, I'm afraid of smudging it all over the place, especially under my eyes.

Thanks... Wait out then in? I think I'm doing it wrong then. xD I go from the inside out, but I prefer doing it that way for some reason.. I don't know, it depends if I am using liquid liner or the gel ones by MAC.

Yeah, I find it easier to go from inside first, then out, for applying eyeliner, but in order to make the right shape of the line (thick on the outside, thinner towards the inside), it's better to start from the outside first. By this, though, I mean gel liners with brushes, or pencil liners/soft kohls. Most professional tutorials I've seen from large magazines and their online videos normally say that the proper way is this, for control reasons. If you get the result the same way, then it shouldn't b a problem doing it your own way.

If it's liquid liner, I'd think it's generally the same, but depending on how you control it, it might be better to start inside, and just apply more pressure towards the outside to make the line thicker. It could be better to do it from the inside because most people who use liquid liners tend to want some of the liner to be drawn extending from the lashline to outside of it. Like those flicks at the end from the corner of the eye. That way, you can finish it with just one line, etc. Going by my own logic, here.

P.S. What kind of eyeshadow are you using in that pic?

Your eyes are really pretty, seriously. I think it's your eyelids that I like the most. I have double-eyelids, but they're pretty much evenly folded throughout the entire thing, whereas yours has this cool feature of how it's open from the outside, but starts to close from the top fold to the inner corners. Jealous!

Thanks. ^^
I'm using Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow by Bobbi brown... I got it in a neutral tones compact....
Limited edition compact I believe... But you still can get the individual colors here:
http://www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY2751&PRODUCT_ID=PROD12725 (http://www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY2751&PRODUCT_ID=PROD12725)

My eyes just LOOK like they're perfect... But actually it's really annoying since both of the folds are different in width, so when I apply eyeliner down evenly, one eye looks bigger than another.... I just create the illusion they look pefect by applying thicker liner to the eye with more area between the folds... Which I believe is my left eye...

If your eyes are even all the way, you could perhaps thin it out at the corners and make it extra thick at the center... It might help? I've seen this trick done by a couple of people and they look gorgeous. But Jun, you're eyes are fine. ^^
They're really pretty!

Edit: Now that I look at those colors, they seem really mute, but in real life they contain very VERY small glitter particles. Don't worry about going for the mute colors because it will SHINE. The ones I used for my eyes are a sandy color, their white, and a dark brown... It goes on very lightly... Not even the dark brown could change the colors on my eyes that much.. And the glitter brings it out even more...
