Funny how it can play JP, US games and more :V

$50 for this, two white controllers, a white memory card and a sexy multitap... :D

Maybe my PS3 breaking was a calling for me to encounter upon this baby..>_>..

Yeah, I've wanted something since my PS3 broke that's cheap where I can finish some of the games I started2. Didn't think I would run into this thing though.

But this is actually the limited edition JP PS2 released when the Grand Turismo game came out. It's actually my first JP system so it's even more special on top of the fact that he told me it was modded.

On a side note, does anyone know what's up with the 220-240V for this PS2? Why is it different than the other JP PS2 'V' where it's the same as US? I have this 20 pound mini-power converter to go along with the system. Not a big deal since I don't have to hold it ( let alone see it), but just curious what the deal is with it.

japan is 100 Volts, 60Hz.  That is usually no problem for a device using a switching power supply.   240V 50Hz is used primarily in the U.K, Europe, and the Middle east.   Some devices (like lap-top chargers) are designed to work with any input voltage.

So wait... this is 220-240V yet it says it's a JP PS2. So this is an European JP PS2?

Here is a picture that's worth any paragraph I can type. Sounds like a mutt among PS2s...>.>

Clearly, the label demarcates it as being a Chinese PS2, based on its area of manufacture. =P

xD

I dunno. I would say my analogy to this PS2 would be a product that's supposed to WORK in JP (since where it's manufactured doesn't determine where it can function) can't be used in JP and needs a special transformer in order for it to work. It's like, fuxed up.

Stop..messing with my head people..@.@. It's too early >_<

Ok, double post but hell.

So basically this is it. I guess it's a JP PS2 for Asia in general. I think the guy said he bought it in Indonesia (forgot)? That's so wierd.
