Title: Schedule's Format
Post by: HarpB on May 17, 2009, 01:30:09 AM
I still have this catalog of FAnime 2007 that I recived. It has detailed information about the event, such as brief description about the animes shown, the events and so on. I am wondering whether or not I will be receiving one this year, prior to fanime. Is there even one that has been created this year?

Also, I remember that the schedule had a different, better format posted on the website. It was all in PDF format, so I could print it out and carry it with me. Furthermore, all of the room's event was displayed in coloums and row with time frame, not just for Video programming and Panels 1-3. Is it possible to get list of the fanime in that old format? It is much more clear for me to figure out as to what event is when, and which one to go to.

I would greatly appreciate your effort.

this is our current schedule:

It makes a lot more sense when you get it in printed form. For now, whats posted is all we have.

Every year I've gone, there has been a nice program that got handed out with your badge that has all this information you're requesting. Synopsis on whats playing in the viewing rooms, a run down of various other events, and I think little interviews with the Guests of Honor. I'm pretty sure you only get that at con.

Could you provide it in PDF format? The font does not looks that good in the img format.

I prefer the layout of last years Schedule better also. this years is kind of annoying, and could have been built a little better.

Now, if you scroll down to the bottom of http://www.fanime.com/schedule.html
you'll see that there are links to individual PDFs for each half day, a link to a zip
file with all the daily pages, bundled up, a link to a version of the schedule as
an OpenOffice spreadsheet, and a PDF version of the spreadsheet.

So, now there's lots of different ways you can see the schedule, and if you don't like
any of them, you can install OpenOffice and slice and dice the file into something even
more readable and exciting.  And if you do come up with a better way of representing
it, send a note back to the webmaster@ address, so we can add it to the list.
Chances are if you found a better way to represent it, somebody else would find it
useful as well.  ^_^

Thanks!
