There shouldn't be a need to change the credit card on your reservation unless that card won't be present at all when you're at the convention.
The card you reserve with isn't necessarily the card you pay with, so if that's what you're worried about don't worry.
If, however, you made the reservation with a card that won't be physically with you at the con upon check in then yes, call the hotel.
Does the same go if that card is like no longer in exsistence. because my card had to get changed and I don't even have the numbers for it either..

If the card has been deactivated you should still bring the physical copy of the card with you and explain to the front desk that it has since been deactivated. If you no longer have it physically then you should call the hotel to change the card number.

Just got off the phone, and the lady I talked to said I can change that there, which confused me because I was under the impression that we need the card we reserved with on us to get in......Totally confused...

Generally, you only need your ID when checking in. Most hotels prefer that you have the Debit/Credit Card that you used to make the reservation, but I've never seen a hotel reject someone because they didn't have it.

I apologize for the confusion, but I have had the experience of being denied check-in because I did not physically possess the card I used to reserve the room at the time. I had to basically get a new reservation because of it.
Then again I usually like to be more safe then sorry, so my guide may be a bit more on the cautious side.
Just confirmed with the Hilton. You don't need the card with which you made the reservation with so long as you can pay for it with another card and have your confirmation number.

Ok thanks, I've made a change to my guide pointing out that the card isn't necessary at all hotels but you might still want it on you just in case (if it's a card you typically carry around anyways).
