She danced a bit with my sis, too, but neither of them had much experience before that day, so it was kinda... xD I got to dance with a Zero, that wasn't my sis :P it made sense 'cause I went to the ball as Kaguya (minus the yellow ribbons; they got loose after Friday ;___; ). I hadn't ballroom danced since middle school, so I was pretty awkward, too xDD
Next year, maybe the Code Geass crew should all plan to go there together? And if my sis and I go through with our plans, our costumes should be pretty ballroom-worthy! :D
LOL if i cosplay as Knight of Zero it might not fit in with the Black and White ball rules. So if thats how it goes ill just have to wear my Knight of Seven again.

Straight and kissing Zero! That's awesome :D haha. The black and white ball was so fun! I almost went over to your group kannazuki... but didn't end up doing so ^^' I was dressed as C.C. and went with my Suzaku and Zero. Then my Suzaku went back to the hotel and my Zero changed into girl clothes! haha. And we all just asked random guys to dance :3
I vote if we all have different characters we go to the B&W ball as all our different characters.. but as a group! would be epic!!

@konataFTW : lol I thought I was the only one who made a schedule early! lol Saturday sounds pretty good for the CG gathering! My sis and I are really thinking of going as young prince Lelouch, and me as blue dress Marianne (which would be tons easier for me to make!). And maybe for Monday or Friday, I would go as 17-year-old Marianne (the one when she and C.C. are in the red jackets).
And if my cousin and I get some serious work done this summer, we can go as Haruka and Kantarou from Tactics on Sunday. But I still have three more costumes I wanna make! And I'd rather wear one costume per day... >.<
I don't understand how you guys can make multiple great looking cosplays in such a short time. I Dump all my time and effort into just one cosplay to make it the best i can get it to be. I don't have a sewing machine so have to resort to having my friend do lotsa the main sewing work and I do all the structure designing(to make it look like the anime and work like it), fine detailing such as sewing collars, getting the right accessories, and creating the smaller details such as the gold trim that was on my suit and cape. I would never have any time to make a second, not to mention even a third cosplay. I feel so incapable... T~T
oh and does anyone think the Knight of Zero outfit wont work for the Black and white ball?
(oh god im gonna have to work out and train more to get better kicks out and to get my arms to look right in this cosplay..... no sleeves for the shoulders!!! >~<)

Yeah I know most of the geass outfits are formal (knight of rounds and all royalty clothing for example) But the post Emperor Lelouch outfits revolve around the theme "eyes and wings" and dont really have the "Brittanian Royalty" theme anymore. so thats what i was worrying about for my knight of zero cosplay. but i guess if it isnt ok ill just wear the Rounds outfit again to the ball so its no biggy.

and the Zero cosplay is hardly black and white lol...
There were a lot of girl-ciel cosplayers this year,
I was surprised lol,
too bad most people only watched the anime instead of reading the manga.
Well Suzaku as Knight of Zero does have a collared cape (kinda like rounds but with a bigger collar) and I have photos and screen caps to prove it, so i have no idea what you guys are smoking... but ya gotta stop ^~^ But as i said before If it isnt B and W ball appoved ill just go in my knight of rounds suit.
Honestly, they're pretty lax about the dress code of the ball. They only turn you down if you're obviously not trying. Like I saw some girls get turned down for wearing tennis shoes. The Knight of Zero costume is definitely ok :D very complex tho... good luck making that collar!

In my opinion, I think you should stick with Knight of Zero.
You were so convincing and totally epic as Knight of Rounds Suzaku that I'm having trouble seeing you cosplay as anything but Suzaku (Sorry for typecasting you :P)
As for the whole "is it appropriate for the B&W Ball" thing: as long as it has the cape, KoZ is definitely formal attire.
Then again, I'm a guy who wears aloha t-shirts to funerals and whose Zero cosplay is the most formal attire I've ever owned in my life, so I may not be the best person to address this issue.

So, im gonna stick with KoZ but.... OMG its being such a B finding out how to design the KoZ suit, the designs keep changing on me in all of the screen caps, designs, and illustrations!!!! I have a general plan and blueprints of it but the small details like this gold line running along the left leg comes and goes, it also sometimes seems to continue on along the length of the knee high boot sometimes too. Its the small things like this that really piss me off and slow me down.... T~T any suggestions? Think I should go with what I want and what I think will look best? or chose one design and follow that even though it may be wrong, but correct according to the image ???
OMG I hated that about making some of my Code Geass costumes!! Best bet, watch a clip of an episode with the KoZ and see all the angles when he moves and such. Some of the pictures that seemed different will make more sense and you'll see that they're really the same (hopefully!). If not, go with the pictures that best match the clip you watched in the episode. Cuz people will look at you like the animated character, not necessary still pictures ^^

I agree with Rukia-Hitachiin. You can also just pick the version you liked best in the eps (if there are inconsistencies); people don't usually mind the slight differences, if you make it to look like one of the ways its shown. Good luck! ^-^

I like cosplay chess. It should definitely be a tradition! As for the relay race, my costume for next year may not be appropriate for that event... Pizza is good~~ On Friday, me (as Kaguya) and my C.C went to Pizza My heart and took some pics xDD

The first year of the Geass cosplay chess we were aligned on the day of the BLEACH Gathering and and they happened to have their cosplay chess on the same day...
I was thinking we'll have our gathering at the same time as their chess so afterwards we could have our chess... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

because I think it'll just become uncomfortable in the end xD
My 'group' (if you could even call it that; there's only the four of us!) is going to be cosplaying from Code Geass, and we're fairly sure, as long as it doesn't clash with the Bleach gathering or any of its events, we should be able to make it to at least the picture portion, although we'll try to make it to some of the events! That is, if we can change fast enough, and manage to grab our Nunally's wheelchair. xD I'll be going as Euphemia, although an incredibly short one. I guess that's what happens when a twelve year old tries to look four years older than she really is. My friend Waffle, who also goes on this forum, is going as Nunally, but I'll have to check with her when she gets back that it's okay with her to go. After which, I'll bug her to post. Then, we have another friend going as Anya, and one more going as my Suzaku~ Can't wait to see you all there!
Besides, even if we arrive late, we'll still be there to take pictures, and lots of them~! ^_^

about the Bleach/Geass clash... please read my post above about the events clashing with the Bleach gatherings^^ sorry we need their board and the only way to get them is to have our chess on the same day as theirs

Eh, we won't mind missing it~ ^^ I'm pretty sure one chess game'll be enough, though. xD Anyhow, we'll try our hardest to rush over to at least make it to the relay race, which I'm sure is gonna be epic. If not; we'll probably be able to make it to the picture taking portion.
Hmm, I was thinking of having everyone migrate to Pizza My Heart, but considering our group size for '09 (and, hopefully, it'll be bigger in '10!), it would be a problem ^^; That would make it easier, though, for everyone who wants to buy a slice. I say we should wait til it gets closer to the con to have a final decision??
Annnd...I kinda agree with koreanking about the relay race. Don't want people messing up their hard work! But if majority decides on having the race, then that's fine, too ^-^

Okay, a slight change of plans has Waffle and I leaning toward different characters, although I might stay the same. Not sure. She claims she wants to switch to C.C., and because of that I may be transitioning over to Karen; as long as I can find a wig for her. Either school girl with spikey hair, or Mini!Karen. I've been cosplaying a hell of a lot of mini's lately... If not; eh, I'll see what she says from there. Either way, I usually humbly obey her orders. ^^;

Uwah, I'm trying to think back; er, do you know what day it was? Ack, if only I watch Code Geass back then! The two of us were only ather recently dragged in by our Anya in the group, so we started watching a little after Fanime. >_< And thanks, although both of our costumes had numerous flaws. And I learned that cosplaying someone half your age isn't exactly the best idea...But even then, it's probably gonna be easier than trying to pull of someone who's about sixteen, I think it was?

It was Saturday, 'cause that was the only day I cosplayed from Bleach ^-^ Sunday was Geass day for all of the people in my group, so we couldn't make it to the Bleach gathering/events. Ahh I think we have opposite problems~? The past few costumes I've done were either around my age or younger xDD

Nanao, Mini!Lavi, and quite possibly Mini!Kallen, although Waffle has me going toward just school Kallen. Oi vey, still too many minis. I love mini cosplays ^^ I generally try to find characters short or tiny to cosplay as, Hanyuu from Higurashi and Blair from SE are my plans. I had to do school Kallen because my friend might be doing black knight Kallen and we didn't want to get mixed up XD

Wow a lot of stuff happened while I was gone XD I think the relay may or may not be a good idea. I think it would be fun for people who have costumes easy to move in as long as it's a fairly short relay... it could just turn into a sort of tournament too. I'm not sure what games, but little short games would be cool.
As for pizza, I'd suggest a C.C. and maybe a Lelouch or Kallen go get the pizza (with someone taking pictures of course) and bring it back for the gathering (but at least 15 minutes before). Because restaurants won't approve of that many people inside disturbing business and not everyone needs to go since the place can't accomodate for everyone to eat there anyway ^^' and figuring out how much each person must pay before hand would be good too.
Cosplay chess should be a regular thing. It's such a Code Geass thing :D I loved it this year!
I can't wait to see all your cosplays next year and I hope I'll have a new one to wear for next year :D
Oh and I looked at your first post, konata :D great job! Except I'm not planning to be Euphemia ^^' I'm planning on being Anya or C.C. either Lolita (since I don't see many of them and I have that costume) or one of the ones I wore this year (the white outfit or black knights/R2 outfit). As for the pizza, yeah. The only problem with bringing it back is that there are no tables (though I thought there was an area with tables somewhere... we could meet there... if you know what place I'm referring to! :O) and we could drip sauce on our costumes or something. About the pizza substitute: Maybe something related to pizza, but still a little less messy,(pizza pockets or calzones?) So it can kinda have the atmosphere of pizza but not ruin everyone's lovely Code Geass cosplay.
@electrocute: I think going with a shorter wig would work. In my experience (and I'm sure others had this problem, as well), longer wigs tend to tangle easily. I think the shorter wig would be less trouble; but if you're a stickler for accuracy, go with a long one. I don't think anyone will mind, really ^-^ The amphigory wigs look nice, but having no experience with them myself, I can't say if they're manageable.
@mi feng: Something pizza-related sounds good. Pizza pockets are pretty safe, but we would need microwaves right? Are there any in the nearby hotels?

Wig. reason: it'll get so tangled and crap that you wouldn't be able to enjoy your cosplay^^ (I definately didn't enjoy my cosplay because of the tangles in my Suigintou and Nunnally wig... gosh especially if I have shoulder-lenght hair and is not very tangled everytime... so not used to it)
suggestions: color 613 http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=25867&cat=2451&page=1 this wig seems soft enough to flow like his... if you want volume, mousse is a solution^^
@electrocute: I believe no matter what you get, it should be from cosworx :D That site is amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone! I got my C.C. wig there and it's great quality and it got to me in just a couple days.
As far as the wig choice... long wigs are a pain, and getting one the actual length of V.V.'s hair in relation to his body... you'd have to basically stand still in order for it not to tangle. So getting something a little shorter with the option of curling it or adding hair products for the wave he has in his hair is ideal! Good luck! :D keep sending us links for your options!

Only problem with those is that they're microwavable so we'd have to make sure that someone's hotel room has a microwave that they can microwave then bring it back to the picnic. But yeah. I've done many cosplay picnics and they're a bunch of fun! :D and less messy foods would rock!

@ konata: I don't mind which day the gathering is on. For me and my group, this is the main one we plan on going to; all others we're basing around this ^-^ Personally, I think we would have more of a turnout on the weekend-days.
@Rukia: I kinda agree with you on that. We don't have to do chess this year if schedules are busy and whatnot. We can just focus on making this gathering the best :D

I wouldn't worry too much about missing the Bleach gathering for the Soul Eater gathering. The ones who are running it in 2010, Fanime Love and MidnightRoseBud, are also frequenters of the Bleach gathering. Heck, they were there this year! I'm not the only one worried about costume changes? Good. @~@ If I do somehow manage to make 'three' of these new cosplays in one year {I'm a whimp compared to the huge list you have xD} I'm going to have to find a way to change in time just to get to the Code Geass gathering, as well. Then dart over to Soul Eater to take pictures~ I got something like...what, a hundred of last years gathering? Hopefully the Ouran gathering will be on Sunday, or else I'm not too sure I'll be able to go and take pictures. D8
Just as a word of advice, I'd try to stick to 2 costumes/gatherings tops on one day. XD Cuz changing that much, you'll forget to put parts on and be really upset. :D So yeah. We should hold off on Code Geass gathering til all the other ones are released. We could always have it a long time from when the other gatherings are so that we all have time to change :3

wow, its been two months since I posted anything on here... Sorry guys I was in japan going over my knight of zero costume and was unable to check up on the forums (or more like having too much fun in Akihabara)so I see there are more knight of zeros this time around. If there ends up being an excess of K.o.Z. then Ill be the good old K.o.S. but for know keep me signed up as knight of zero. Did anyone here go to Comiket? there were some awesome CG cosplayers there and a hilarious Jeremiah(R2 Lulu side) with boxes of oranges and orange related candies, i got some candies and an orange!!! LOL'D \(^~^)/

Welcome back KoI! We've been talking about events and days to hold the gathering on. It's still a bit early, but I think everyone else is getting settled with their time and days, so we should do the same. And of course people are signing up ^-^ Comiket! I didn't go, but did you get any good doujinshi? ;D
Oh Yeah! I went and took a taxi to Comiket at 4AM so I could get in line with little people before me and be one of the first hundreds of people to be able to buy the brand new releases! So I got my hands on several high quality Code Geass doujins! mostly LuluXC.C. but one SuzuXEuphie, one LuluXShirly. and two Majin Tantei Neuro doujins. thats about it for doujins but i spent hundreds on other stuff like two of those boob mouse pads, towels, pillowcases and what not. And im planning on going to the next winter comiket too cuz my winter break coincides with it. Hey ill see If i can remember to bring my doujins for everyone to read durring the picnic LOL'D \(^~^)/ ill also see if i can get my group to scanlate the doujins for ya guys.

well all you need to do is install (more like activate) japanese by going into control panel, click the date, time, language, and regional options button(easier to find if set for category view) and then regional and language options. Finally the languages tab at top of the window and find and install japanese.
But of course you can always just go to the english Cure site and not have to worry about trying to display japanese. plus even if you do install japanese you have to know how to type in japanese which gets annoying even for me once in a while.
OH!!! i just remembered I bought a suzaku Knight of seven cosplay from this cosplay shop in japan called ACOS and its made super accurate and super clean, I bought it only because i needed the vest only version of the inner jacket with no sleeves that comes with it, so I wouldnt get hot at Comiket. so im selling the rest of it, Because im short on cash and the older one I made is custom tailored to my size and body shape so it looks better on me then the one from acos. heres a link to their page for pics. I dont mind selling at a very low price and i will sell it in parts so if you want just the gloves or cape or jacket we can make a deal. oh and one more thing I bought the last one they had in stock for good. lol they aren't gonna make any more.

I love how this fanime we are actually having Euphies in the gathering!!! there was a definite lack of em last year. or at least they didn't join our gathering. hmm this is getting me thinking, if i go as knight of zero i dont think ill look too good with Euphie will I? or do you guys think it would be fine? Ohhh, I think due to my Nunnally cosplay I might be either her, or Euphemia at the gathering. It's so hard to decide! :P I'll see after they're both done. The worst part, if I'm nunnally I have about two versions I'm being for Fanime which woild be very hard. I would suggest the day still be Saturday, and time should be 11am,12, or 3 pm
As long as it doesn't class with a lot of the big gatherings, I don't have a problem with any of the times, though we really should have something set soon (less than 50 days left!)

I posted this on the cos.com forums, but 12pm is in between several different gatherings, and I'm not sure if people signed up for the Geass gathering have plans to attend those other ones. From 4pm and onward things look pretty calm, so I would suggest that time frame.

that'd be pretty cool! i'm going to try and get the sword so i can have a zero stab me and i've been practicing my lines (going to marathon Code geass with buddies before fanime)
once we get all the group shots and pairing shots done, i think we could try scene reenactments, we'll need lots of props though....

Hey guys, long time no see!!! I bring with me a few updates on my status.
First off Ill be glad to organize the CG gathering like last year and I hope I can help fill the gap with konata out.
Second. Crap my initial D craze has caused me to go out and buy a white Mazda RX-7 same as Ryousuke if any of you guys know the show. Thus robbing me of my money as I bought parts and what not to modify it... and guess what! My Knight of Zero cosplay is still not done and it most likely wont be in time for fanime. so Ill have to resort to going as Knight of Seven again... ill just tune up my KoS and make it better. Ive been working out so my figure is finally perfect for Suzaku, nice and buff at the top with wider shoulders, very thin and slim at the waist and wider hips \(^~^)/ I even look like him from that naked geass flash back scene ! ROFL

i'd like to make an important announcement regarding the pizzas. I checked the prices of large pizzas and they're about 12 dollars each with 10 slices ( i think) if everyone gets two slices, we'll have to order 12 pizzas and split among 60 people and that would be about 3-5 dollars per person. i'm saying this now because i want everyone to know this ahead of time and if everyone is willing to pitch in

@rukazu: Pizza would be nice at the gathering but not everyon who will attend will know about this because
not everyone has a fanime forums account or cosplay.com account either so it may be harder to have pizza if there's not enough pizza and everyone might bot pitch in. So maybe we should think more about having pizza there.
@azuru, yeah i thought about that, what i plan to do is right at the start of the gathering, or when about everyone shows up, i'll ask if they want to buy pizza hut and after the gathering, we all eat. that way, i can get the majority of the people and everybody knows of the plan, i do the number crunching and call up pizza hut, figure out the total cost plus tip and split that among everyone who pitches in. i will also announce that everyone must agree if not i can always geass them to do so XD
@rukazu Haha then they can't refuse! ;D That sounds like a good idea, seems like you have it well planned, brother. (lol) Would pizzahut really bring the pizzas to a con?? I saw it was done before but with all the confusion it took awhile to pay them.
@azuru. yeah will have to set up a location that would easy, perhaps like at the intersection or something like that. but yes, when i plan for cons and events, i try and think of everything possible and cover all the bases.
And this is for anyone else reading this forum. I'm planning to do a reenactment of the last scene in code geass, i was wondering does anyone have that purple sword that suzaku stabs lelouch with? just curious

it was an idea that was thrown around by a few people at this point, there's more possibility of a pizza luncheon than the cosplay chess. but yes, since the masquerade is taking place saturday night, i think it'll be nice to have dinner with everybody before that

@RobotPengiun: The gathering is at 4pm on Sat. Rukazu will order pizza as the gathering winds down, which will be determined by the cosplayers ^^ As for chess, thats not looking like it will happen. So its just gathering and pizza.

Really?!? well it was my very first gathering I had ever attended. I was Anya....Most people who where dressed up as code geass didnt want to be in the shots so there were more people but they didnt participate......... I hope to be in the '11 gathering next year too! Ima find a nunally to bond with since Anya is tecnically her knight. lol
I hope I can see other code geass goers at SacAnime 2010 in September!

To everyone who showed up to the gathering, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I was really nervous taking over and running this gathering, but help from some cosplayers and everyone's overall AWESOMNESS made it really worthwhile! I hope everyone had an equally great time =)
