Title: Open Ballroom Dance
Post by: Mantaray3000 on May 27, 2009, 12:09:46 PM
Do you think its possible if next year we can have a open ballroom dance floor? I like the idea of open rave dance nights but I'm just curious if a an open ballroom dance (combination of fast and slow dance songs) is possible.

Hello, This is Jim, the BWBall 2nd for FanimeCon 2009.  This year, for the dance lessons we did have open floor so people can come and request music to dance to, practice, and take advance lessons if they wanted to.  The turnout for the open dance floor was good but it was mainly due to people wanting to learn more patterns for the dances.  We can look into having a period that is just strictly an open dance floor for people to come and practice or dance.  Did you come to any of the open floor times that we had during the weekend?  Thanks for the idea.  We will take a look at it for next year.

- Jim

I also like the idea of open floor hours because of the possibility of semi-private lessons for those people who'd like more in depth instruction.

I would like to use that time to teach other con goers new trick and tips on ballroom dancing.

Haha, yup :).  Depending on the size of the floor, you can probably run something in each corner without interrupting the others.
