Title: Old School...
Post by: deonchan on June 11, 2009, 12:03:15 PM
So I got really nostalgic last night and d/l a NES and SNES emulator. I scored FF 1-6, Secret of Mana 1and 2, Chrono Trigger, Punch out, Super Punch out and Smash TV. Couldn't get any SF games thanks to the ESA.

What other Old School games are worth getting?

Didn't you fail playing Earthbound though?

For me it was mainly just the Mario games. Did not play much else.

Little Mermaid was so good. Every Disney game made by Capcom was so awesome. Mickey's adventure in the Magical Kingdom for the SNES... so awesome... Aladdin, Lion King, etc... all of them were just too good.

Thanks ya'll I've been getting Roms left and right (if I haven't already had any) I forgot how good alot of these games were for their time. I took Mizuki and Mikey's advice and fired up Little Mermaid last night...

2 1/2 hour later o.O Time does fly when your having fun ^_^

Also d/l the SNES Sailor Moon RPG for shiggles. It's pretty ok I suppose. A little annoying at times though.

Haha I used to d/l emulaters back then. Did ever try the DS emulater? But I stop doing it because the controls were difficult especially when I play Super Metriod. So I asked a friend if he can modify my xbox. He not only added nes and snes emu but he added all the other systems back then. Now my xbox has 9 different emu and he hooked it up with a ton of roms. I still have it. I was thinking of selling it, but nah it isn't worth it. It's not only because it has old school games but it's also a memento/present from him.

You should try wizards and warriors 3 (NES) it's both addictive and fun.

Y's adventure.
Kirby All-Star. Both snes

Try out Spiritual Warfare (nes) you need to see it for yourself.

I HATED Wizards and Warriors 3. 1 was awesome... 2 was... good... 3 was horrible. The whole guild thing and transforming and retarded quests and stuff. Wizards and Warriors wasn't meant to be an adventure rpg... it was just I'M A KNIGHT... I'M GONNA OWN STUFF UP! stabstab shoot crap from my sword or axe, and bust through dungeons getting my jewels.

3 was like... sup moving platforms that you have to jump across with spikes and make way through small spaces because I be a thief, OH WAIT I went to a diff guild, now I'm a wizard and need to blow stu... OH NO DRAGON GO BACK TO THE GUILD... BECOME A KNIGHT! STAB STABSTAB, BUT NOW THERE'S A NARROW PASSAGE! Go back and become a thief again and duck through and pick lock the... IT'S A TRAP RUN BACK AND BECOME A KNIGHT SO YOU DON'T DIE... BY IT!

haha true true. In all my years of playing that game I still haven't beaten it yet. It's fun trying out the guilds. But there are times that I want to destroy the game especially when most of the transformations are useless the hours of time spent looking for the statues, the dreaded wizards guild. The WTF do I give this statue to. The fact that you can't save. Too many looked rooms to explore. The where the Hell do I go next. Gahhh...it's fun but I gotta admit the first and second were better.

Ever tried Shadow Gate?

I beat Shadow Gate/Deja Vu/The Uninvited when I was a kid. Deja Vu is probably the best of the three in terms of overall feel, but Shadow Gate is probably the best as that kind of game.
