That is so cool. I book marked that site. The predator helmets are done the same way, or similar.
This is pretty cool.
I understood that making such armors is expensive and hard :( I'll experiment for Fanime though and I'll update here if/when it's done and is decent.
Just a little update. Almost time for PAX!

It turned out pretty good man. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see it in action. (Damned traffic and bad directions.)
Impressive! Respect. (Lol at the picture at In N' Out)
Very good.
Frick'n Epic. Congrats!
I wish I could start working on my stuff and finish a tutorial. :/
All my costume building stuff has been packed for the past month.
Completed suit. No more work for it to be done by me, other than maybe picking up some nicer parts from other people. All my own work is going to go toward new projects now.

Bungie Afterparty
How much would it cost to commission you (or another) to make something similar to this? I would love to have one, but do not have the time nor skill to create such a thing.
I am not currently taking commissions due to being busy with school and other already scheduled projects. However, once I'm free, I'll shoot you a PM. My schedule should open up more around christmas time hopefully.
The cost of what you want made will vary depending on the item. But for reference, the average price for a rough cast of a helmet seems to be around $150.
If you let me know what you're interested in, I can start doing some R&D and such.
Sounds expensive. But I can always make more money.
What I wanted to do was make a replica of my Halo3 multiplayer armor. That would be awesome.
That is definitely within my capabilities.
MkV helm, EVA chest, MK VI left shoulder, CQB right is what I'm seeing?
As mentioned before I'll shoot you a PM once my schedule starts to clear up.
Edit: Is there a time frame you're aiming for? Fanime perhaps?
Yeah that sounds about right.
And yes, Fanime is the time schedule.
Looking forward to the PM if/when it comes. That is unless I suddenly have no money...
Hey Daniel Did you hear that on GameTrailers.com
Edit I found it- hopefully you've seen it.

*turns out its just an uber hard core commercial for the release coming up*
They did a Live action Series mixing of Halo 3 and a new mini series of the ODST series.
I need to find out when its gonna air and then Tivo it. [I have some shorts from a thing they did with Halo 3 on my xbox]
They should have cast you as an extra.
I heard the majority of the actors were/had previous military service/training.
Semper Fi. Woot.
That was a pretty cool trailer.
Reminds me of the of the Halo: Believe video.
Same production company (and director) as the "Believe" series. Stan Winston studios, only whatever their new name is. Good stuff.
Is it possible/feasible to make a silicon mold out of someone's original helmet and then produce a resin cast from that?
EDIT: nvrmind, already found a way to do it; will probably attempt first with either an ODST helmet or a Level 3 RIG helmet from Dead Space.
Make sure you get permission from the original creator of whatever you're molding before you do it though!

Oh no, I'm not trying to do a recast; I just was trying to see if it was possible to make a mold from a finished helmet.
I'm trying to build one from pep files and other materials, then make a mold of that and make a resin cast from it for myself. I hope this isn't frowned upon as much as recasting is (I have been lurking 405th for a few days now)
