This movie deserves to be shown on the big screen and to support Funimation to get the other movies quickly. Also this is the only time the movie will be shown in Northern California!
I have setup a event notice on FaceBook to see who wants to go and then figure out what would be the best time near the end of the month. It is starting to look like a lot of people want to do this in the evening, but if you are interested please check the link out.
Here is the link:

Is it far from a CalTrain or BART station?
Just get off of BART and take the 38 or 38L to Japan town

True. I'm just throwing out the easiest route to take. Or if people don't want to walk or take the bus, then a cab will take you there for like 5-6 bucks.
Heh didnt think people would reply to this.
Just waiting to find out the times for 9/5.. hopefully soon.
I will have to find the time to make it to this.....
I just hope it gets posted soon, too bad I don't know anybody at the Kubuki to get that info way in advance. heh
I could barely make it, I just need to get a some more money. I hope they don't get sold out on Saturday. I don't know my way around San Fran but I have a friend that will guide me there through the bus.
I'm so giddy with excitement!
*fanboy squeal*

I just spoke with the Sundance Kabuki theater looking for showtimes; they are not showing the movie this weekend. They say that the movie will be shown next week, but they do not have a specific day, and they don't have showtimes.
Funimation's site and their Twitter feed still shows the movie is on, but Kabuki insists they do not have the movie, and will not be showing it. In addition, they have all of their showtimes for their eight auditoriums booked for that Saturday.
I will be keeping the Facebook event updated with new information. As of now, it looks like the movie will be shown on 09/12, the following Saturday. Let's see what Funimation has to say about this...
I think this is in part due to the fact that the bridge is closed for this weekend.
That would be a coincidence if they did it because of the closure.

New details available from the Sundance Kabuki: Auditorium selection, showtimes and advance ticket sales are now available. Here are the showtimes:
11:20 AM | 1:40 PM | 4:25 PM | 7:10 PM | 9:30 PM
We will be going to the 7:10p showing, but here's the crappy thing: It's in Auditorium 7, which holds 57 seats. That is not a typo: fifty-seven. And now it's down to 55.
Tickets cost $14/adult, and can be purchased in advance at http://sundancecinemas.com/
Don't forget to budget for parking ($16 max / car), food ($10-25/person), gas ($15 or so), and miscellaneous expenses (eg: coke and whores).
Get them soon, people!
Thank you for the update! This is going to be fun :)
Tickets have been on sale for almost a day and the 7:10p show on Saturday only has three seats sold?
We need to make sure this movie gets as popular as possible, or we don't get nice things anymore!
Did I mention this is ASSIGNED SEATING??
http://sundancecinemas.com get tickets now!
My work friends have reserved some seats for the 1:40 pm showing. I'm still sure if I can make it though. I have a LOT of stuff going on this weekend, plus I have to factor in money issues. We'll see.....

Heh the whole point was to do it on that time so it would be a huge gathering of sorts. Hehe Ah well!
So, I have a question for anyone that went.
How was the voice acting? How were the VA that aren't the original VA?
The best way to find out is to go see it. It is only in that theater for another couple days, so you have to see it Wednesday or Thursday, or you can wait for the November DVD release.

Hey buddy, the reason why I'm asking is because I can't go. Also The DVD is coming out in November of this year!
Original post modified; I was thinking of the Blu-Ray release.
But yeah, we tried getting a bunch of people together to support the release and expedite the licensing of the remaining movies, and literally six people showed up out of dozens who were invited, many of whom "confirmed", then flaked out. Out of 57 seats in the theater, 20 were sold. At a Saturday screening. At 7:10p.
Unless your water breaks, go see this movie. Don't steal, but lie and cheat to see this movie. We need to make sure the industry gets more of this and less Yu-Gi-Oh-quality dubbing.
And to answer your question, I liked it. The non-Shinji and non-Misato voice actors all did their jobs well. I particularly liked Gendo and Fuyutsuki.

Judging from the trailer the VA for Misato sounds kind... old?

Hehe... like, maybe, 10 years older? It is a little less over the top than before. I liked it.

I didn't think her voice would change THAT much. I guess ten years can do a lot more than I thought it would.
