FanimeCon 2026 Forums

First off, a big CONGRATS to those who won the game in 2009, and a huge thank you to those who played. Thank you also goes out to BSaphire for trying to help our game along as it failed dramtically on Saturday, by alllowing it to try again on Sunday. And of course a big thank you to everyone who tried their hardest to get the game moving, even if it was only to run upstairs to our room to get the prizes.  :P

However, Fanime 2009's game of "Catch the Barrel-Catch the Prize" was in all honesty, a bit of a let down. The game did not progress very far, and while I have ideas on why, I'm not positive on any one of them. I'm toying with the idea of trying to host it again for Fanime 2010, but before I decide, I would like to hear your thoughts.

Should I or should I not start the game again?
Are there any ideas on improving the game?

Sounds pretty neat to me, I hadn't heard about this at all last year though  :-[

My department will be doing as much as we can to help spread the word about this cosplayer event & what ever we can to help you out.

This is a terrific game and I really want to see it come back. Last year there were some side tracking occurrences that hurt the performance of this game. There were also a lot of new people at Fanime. These two things had a direct impact on the over all game play. My staff and I noticed many new people last year and will work on getting the word out to the attendees.

If there is anything we can do to help please let us know. As for everyone else.... sign up and do this game! It will be a blast if more people get involved!

You already know my thoughts. It's a fun game, and sure, last year had some obstacles (I blame the protesters), but that just means 2010 will be twice as good to compensate.

It was on Saturday that is probably the problem since that is usually the most hectic of all days, that and every freaking gathering that matters (I mean like hella big in America) is like on that day.

It sounds really amazing, and I was interested in it briefly last year, but I totally forgot about it come con time, especially since I was occupied pretty much all day with other events.


think that better advertising could help it quite a bit, since even though I knew about it, I totally forgot about it until I saw this thread.
