I just started this thread, mainly to get ideas of what ROMs to download.
We love nintendo, but do you love the OLD SCHOOL?
Please post an old school NES game that you loved, and a game that you hated. Only rule, is that it's Nintendo Entertainment System ONLY.
Love: Super Mario Brothers 3
Hate: Castlevania
I hope you're downloading roms legally...

Perfectly........ -_-;
*sigh* I'm simply going to ignore your post about ROM downloads. You know better than that, SukebeStudios (or so I hope).
On-Topic:
Love: The Guardian Legend
Hate: Deadly Towers
Like: Wizards & Warriors 3
Hate: The Goonies
Here's a website on which games are worth playing, FYI.
http://www.racketboy.com/guide/hidden-gems (http://www.racketboy.com/guide/hidden-gems)
+ Legend of Zelda
- Ice Breaker
also, i actually play them on the NES. no dl for me.
I play both Roms and on my FC Twin. So I play both cartridges and roms.
It's only legal if you own the original copies and are only using them for backups. I also remove the url, because it can be linked to illegal activity.
I have several real NES's, and lots of cartriges.
+ Dr. Mario
- Festers Quest.
I had all mine temporarily in storage and someone cut the lock and ganked them all.
+Tetris
- Roger Rabbit
Why is it that I liked all the games you people hated except for Deadly Towers. Well I didn't like Dick Tracy very much, but it wasn't bad.
Too many good games to choose from, but a bad game?
Ride on Bungling Bay.

I don't understand how you can hate castlevania outside of it being too hard for you. Yet you list a game like Friday the 13th, a game in which they don't explain anything to you, and is pretty much impossible to beat unless you have an FAQ to find the torch(seriously... if you found this on your own...)
Back to the future was ok, but screw the last stage. I never beat it, always went either too fast or too slow. After like 30 replays and still not being able to figure out exactly which to hit and which not to, I got pissed off and stopped playing.

Well, MOST of Castlevania was enjoyable enough, in all honesty. Although there were many frustrating moments. But the one part that got me to dislike it the most was the level with Frankenstein. That just killed it for me.
As far as Friday the 13th, it KINDA explains, well, it explains one thing, light the fireplaces. Everything else is just repetitive and I guess perhaps a little monotonous after a while. But it has nowhere NEAR the frustration level that Castlevania has. BTW, I never did find the torch. I just used the Pitchfork, lol. Blind luck actually. In fact, most of the time I wandered in the forest/cave areas, when I found a cabin I was like, "WTF?"
ANYWAYS, another posting...hmm...

It amazes me that people still believe that.
Anyway:
+ Donkey Kong Jr. Math (I...I don't know, I just find it bizarrely fun)
- Excitebike (never really appealed to me)

There's more to it, but I don't exactly feel like being a lawyer and putting down everything.

Just because games licenses may "expire" does not mean that other factors like IP (Intellectual Property) are gone.
* ahem * [please do not discuss illegal roms or downloads prease]

Uh... no.
License is a right to use intellectual properties in development and release. What you're probably thinking of is patent. Patent's last 20 years, and again, you are still wrong because the patent is about the hardware and development. The patent expiring means, the NES' hardware is now no longer a patent of the nintendo corp, and any company can create/release/sell hardware that performs what the NES does. HOWEVER, the copyright on games and what not still exist, and will so for another roughly 70-80 years. Copyrights last for 90-105 years according to how they were registered.
So since the NES' patent is out, companies can make 3rd party NES' however they cannot steal the games as they still have copyrights, and are still protected.
