I'm not completely sure, but I think I saw a cabinet when I was in Little Tokyo a few weeks out(either that, or it was just a WMMT3DX cab); that, and IIRC, I saw a pair of Initial D Arcade Stage 5 cabs, too.

Is 5 an updated 4 or a diff gameplay style?

- 2 new cars (Nissan GTR and one of the older Nissan Skylines)
- New dress-up parts

Thank you guys so much for bringing the ITG machine to Fanime. It was unfortunate that my USB wasn't linux compatible because I had some good anime songs on there I wanted to play, but I was still content that it was there, so thank you very much! If you could bring it back again, that would be awesome!
This year, I would like to request for a DJMax Technika cab to be at Fanime 2010. :)
This might be an oddball request... but does anyone like pinball anymore?
I miss old fashion pinball games, it doesnt really matter which ones but heck I'll even try anything from Japan if they even have pinball out there.
OR Japanese Plinko, I hear thats fun. :P Does that even count as an arcade ? :P

Now that you mention it, it would be pretty cool to have even just one pinball machine; I remember burning through quarters on a 'The Twilight Zone' pinball machine as a kid.

Personally just because I have had some bad experiences with the DDRX machines, I would hope that you guys have any of the older mixes there without the completely flat danceboard....can't STAND that design.

THIS. Any mix past DDR Extreme no longer has Dancemania licenses (read: the songs that made the game worth playing up until SN), and is hardly any good/fun. Now, granted, there will be players who will vie for the latest and "greatest" version to come up and I'll respect that, but... new mixes just ain't as fun as the oldies and goodies.
I hate to bring up a slightly inactive topic but...
Jubeat/Ubeat, anyone? >_>

I'm gonna have to Second that Simpsons Arcade.
DanceManiax (2nd mix)
ParaParaParadise (2nd mix? the same one as last year)
DJ MAX Technica
That...taiko game. With the drums with loud, high-pitched voices. yeahhhhhh.
DDR Extreme is my serious request. My random would make my heart feel warm and fuzzies follows through the idea of a pool table, air hockey table, or pinball machine. (Plus it would be awesome to play!!!)
DDR
DDRX (Japanese cabinet) ... yeah yeah, I know...but this is a "request" thread. >=D
- so DDR Extreme would be fine
ITG2
Tekken 6
Any recent/current airplane/spaceship shooter. <3
guitar freaks/drummania V6 ... yeah, another 100% impossible request =p
- so GF/DM V5 would suffice
couple pool tables
couple airhockey tables
I must second the idea on acquiring a pinball machine for this year.
I BEG of you to bring the DDR and Para Para machines back. Air Hockey was also a lot of fun! ;D
Pinball

I would really love it if a Jubeat Ripples machine could be brought here. When I was in Japan last winter, those machines would always be crowded. Personally, I think it is much better than Technicka.
TMNT Turtles in Time
Alien vs Predator
The Simpsons
Madden (it can actually be really fun when you get 4 people cramped at the machine)
X-MEN
TRON
Discs of TRON
DEFENDER
Star Wars (1983)
I almost forgot to mention U.N. Squadron/Area 88.
Soul Calibur 1
Ehrgeiz
Urgh I haven't been following up this thread...I need to make a list of requests.
All that really old-school stuff is probably a no-go, but I'll definitely try getting in that Simpsons. Jubeat is a definite no-go. DDR/Para will likely be back, no vendors bought DDRX. Even on a Japan cab the game is terrible anyway, so just wait for X2 at next year's Fanime or something :3 I'm hoping for Extreme. ITG2 will likely be back.
Pinball, HMMMMMMMMM. I'll look into this.

Weird request, but what about Free Play arcade?
I'd endorse it if it were toward certain times so the con doesn't lose profit. At the same time, being in the arcade, I'm most likely to spend $50 downright there which'll kill my wallet almost immediately. :\
This is another odd request, mostly because I'm just so damn old-school...but what about retro arcade games, such as Asteroids, Defender, Space Invaders, DK, Mario Bros. Centipede, Galaga, etc.?
A very very VERY special request is Gradius, the original arcade game. That holds a special place in my heart.
(Side note: I know for sure that XEVIOUS, Salamander (related to Gradius), and Galaga all had anime spinoffs.)

From http://gamestone.co.uk/gradius/games_games.php?system=AC&local=Japan&game=01&page=1
QuoteBack in 1985 Konami decided that it was going to try a new state of the art program storage system to replaced ROMs, it was called "Bubble Software".
Other manufacturers had already tried other magnetic media (disk and tape) instead of roms with some success, so Konami decided to make a modified version of their own new G400 BIOS system.
Bubble memory is non volatile electromagnetic writing/readable memory and was thought to be, at its inception, as a direct a quick replacement for floppy disks.
Unfortunately Bubble Memory proved to be extremely susceptible to electromagnetic fields (not great for something in a arcade environment) and were also more quite a bit more expensive than standard ROM based boards. For this reason the project never got beyond its first couple of games. Anyone who still has one of these systems in their possession and still has it working today is incredibly lucky.
You can tell bubble soft games by the startscreen "wait while system heating up", because the Bubble Memory needs to be heated up to between 30-40 degrees to work properly that's why you get the warming up section before the game starts, they even emulated this "warming up" on the Gradius Deluxe Pack on PSX and Saturn.

Then I saw OCE's post for CVS2 and 3S and then I was like :D
I don't think I'll be putting in any of my money to vanilla SF4 tho..
I'm so pissed they won't have SSFIV on consoles but I completely understand why.
I think one of my roomates for fanime hotel is going to bring a 360 and I'll bring my copy and TE.
:D
So uh guys
they brought us Mushihimesama :D
Probably the best choice now, 'cause the console port sucked balls anyway. Finally something I can really showboat on <3
This is like a full blown everything-under-the-sun arcade! (at least in america) Props for more up-to-date Guitarfreaks and Drummania machine! More motivation to stop people from destorying it 8)
Waiiiiiit a second. There won't be SSF4 console, because SF4 vanilla is going to be on arcade?
Also SatoshiS, if you want an arcade that will make you think you're in heaven in america you should go to Texas and visit Arcade UFO :)

No SSF4 freeplay on console. Only arcade SF4 vanilla.
Taken from Fanime eGaming thread:
To respect the arcade's services provided for FanimeCon, we will not provide free gaming for specific games unless it's used for tournaments only (example: Super Street Fighter IV).
Alright, even though it doesn't make very much sense seeing as they are two totally different games.

Yeah. Pretty upset about that myself. There goes half my time at the arcade. Gotta find something else to do now.

*rolls up sleeve*
We'll see about that =P
I'm getting bored at the booth atm, I'm gonna go check out the high score table see if I can take over Original by the time con's over
EDIT: Screw that, top score is a no-miss clear. I've only done that twice, ain't happenin' out-of-practice lol
Now that the con is over and done with, Shoutouts goes out to all the people I played at CvS2. It was refreshing to see a lot of great low-tier teams (NorCal Regionals prolly has a big effect on that), though I was a little sad to not play Lexy and her P-groove chun. I prolly won't touch the game again until next Fanime so I'm going to miss how on point my K-Chang/Zangief was all weekend.
I had fun at the arcades with Noel on BB:CS. Sucked it up but I managed somehow to beat a few good people. I think maybe I spammed correctly or something but I dunno. Either way, gotta hit up SVGL now that I can actually stay in Cali for the Summer.
As one who plays BBCS every other day, thank you all for showing up and making it look hype. It's been a mad-long time since I saw a line to play the game. So if any of you decide to make your debut at SVGL, then I'll be happy to show you a few pointers AND pay a few matches.
Lordkefka it sounds like we are going to have to make a few trips to SVGL sometime soon.

We will have some iPads as prizes! PSP Go, DSi XL and ipod touch too!
I love that stackers game.
The iPod Touch was totally worth the $25 I put down playing.
Thanks for comin' out guys! I had a blast. I'm happy to hear your feedback, both good and bad, and suggestions. Looking forward to seeing you guys next year :3
duuuuude.
you have no idea how upset i was when i saw
NO INITIAL D V3 MACHINES
4 is utter suck, and 3 is the win.
kk, so take my suggest and use it 4 nxt yr.
kthxbai
4 v1.2 is okay. 4 v1.5, on the other hand, can burn in video game hell with Superman 64, Action 52, and DoughDawnPatchy 2: Shit Storm.

Dude hit me up anytime. I actually went with another friend to Rack and Cue at SF State and they had the same BB:CS machine at Fanime so I could easily go a few times a week to waste money compared to SVGL. But I'm sure I won't get the same challenge as I would at SVGL so yeah.

Yeah I think our best bet in the area for practice would be sunnyvale or milpitas
