I took Ceramics this semester and during some down time I started work on my interpretation of a sandworms tooth from the book series Dune. I just recently got it back from the glaze firing.
The prop is made from stoneware clay and has a ruby red gloss glaze for the red streaks, with a coat of Crystaline glaze over the top of that.

My initial Crysknife design was made using a wood carving and bondo, which I then painted over with a glossy white spray paint. To be honest it looked a lot like a chunk of plastic to me. Seen here.
