Does anyone know the theme of the Fanime for '10?

I don't know if that has been officially announced yet.
Though Judging from the Homepage, I want to say it will be a fantasy theme, seeing the guy with the sword and the chick with the wand.
Thats just my assuption/theory/guess, and my opinion should be ignored until we get a more official answer.

is a theme that important?

after going to fanime for over 10+ years. its just been about anime. shouldnt that just be the main theme?

the motto/ mantra all this time has always been:  " By fans, For fans... "

The " Fanime Five " is a new concept though, started roughly about 3-ish years ago....

Depending on what staff shirts you saw in previous years, we've had our fanime mascots in various cosplay genres like Pirates, Sci Fi, JRock and this year with Fantasy and etc...

Bring your own dice and be ready for adventure. Woot.

Most people ignore the theme, or don't even get it. Like, the cyber punk theme of 2 years ago went over the heads of most people, as it's not really a genre commonly found anymore.

Though, this year's theme is...

PyronIkari is your God....

I'm serious, ask Tony.

I thought Tony was God.

Now I'm all confused. The internet lies to me.  :-[

Ohh, fine - it's "Fantasy-RPG".

I'm hoping Yoshitaka Amano will come this year - it would be so appropriate...

*Shrugs* The art looked neat, but I thought that was purely aesthetic element to the con, nothing more.

Sometimes it drives programming. Jerry usually incorporates the theme into a block of video programming, and if we're lucky, we'll get guests that have work in the genre.
