Title: Nobody knows where San Bruno is/ Tim Burton Ball
Post by: HuggalotXOmocha on February 02, 2010, 08:17:53 PM
It's hard to find some good Convention Go-ers in San Bruno. It's so...Ninja-ie.

But anyways. Convention people. We should chill.

And just to let you all know...There's a Tim Burton Ball in San Francisco.

DNA Lounge
375 11th Street
San Francisco, CA

20 bucks to get in.
18 if you're dressed up in any of the Tim Burton characters.

Whoo Whoo!

um. not to be picky here but you left out some important details about this event / venue. :P
specifically the time and date.

good thing for google.

Wonderland: A Tim Burton Ball

   * When: Friday 2/5/2010 (7:30PM)
   * Where: DNA Lounge
   * Address: 375 11th Street San Francisco, CA
   * Cost: $16-20

And to reply to your comment about Cons between now and Fanime...
there used to be " Tales of Anime " which actually wasnt half bad that was in the San Mateo Marriot, but then disappeared since 2008.
Then there was another mini Con " Recca Con " which was in the Pittsburg/Antioch area... which also faded away due to lack of support as well...  :-\

So the only other " major " Cons before Fanime would be.... um...

Sakura Con  & Wonder Con.... Both on April 2 ~ 4,  2010...   Decisions, decisions. :P

after researching this venue its literally just a huge hodge podge or random dressed up-ness fun.

I heard the venue may be open as early as 3pm for Swing Dance Lessons,
then theres 2 bands playing starting at 7pm ish
and from about 9~10pm will be various DJ's and a Dance party til about 3~4am

its just your usual chaos of fun with every randomized dress up genre you could think of.

I'm gonna try a [basic] version of Steam Punk outfit.  ;)  See you ladies and gents possibly there.

Tim Burton & Alice in Wonderland theme + Swing dancing + Abney Park and all of their steampunk-y goodness = I'll be there for sure :)

Yeah, that would be fine. The discount is if you show up in any sort of costume, doesn't have to be specifically a tim burton version.

Dance lessons are from 7:30-9:30 and I think they actually cost a bit extra. The DJs and bands don't actually start till 9:30.

The headline band Abney Park was freaking awesome! I had a blast considering my last minute dress up and going to a dance party! :D
