There appeared to be some interest for night ballroom classes, so here's your chance to make your voice heard.

I will help you guys on the basic on Waltz, V Waltz, EC Swing, Cha cha depending on what is scheduled at night.  Jim did you get my email regarding saturday?

I think it should be on Friday & Saturday night because some people may want to see the Masquerade, (like me), and (for example) if they miss one day of dance class,
they can certainly go the next.  ;)

what if we did west coast and blues at night?  it would be soooo dreamy to end a great day at con with a chance to unwind and relax on a dance floor full of fellow nerds... *daydreams*

@MyMidnightAffair - And this is the reason I'm doing a poll.  While I personally have no decisionmaking power, having 20 or 30 people say "yeah, I really would like to see classes Friday and Sat. nights" will definitely draw some attention from those who do.  As it is, I can say the idea of having night classes will have a better chance of happening if there's interest.  Getting the resources together to do this is not going to be easy, but knowing that there's a bunch of people who want it will make it easier.

what about an open floor at night?

We're bandying about the idea of semi-private lessons - half an hour, four to five couples.  Of course, if they're not around then it becomes an open floor...

Yes, it will take awhile for the resources to be pulled to the right strings. :)

So, the preliminary indication barring any drastic funding changes is that Friday night is a no-go but we can run Saturday night *at least* until midnight.  I'm disappointed since I was ready to go both nights, but it's not very surprising since Friday was the worst out of the three days last year in terms of overall attendance.   

Well, Friday would be better for me, as I'm likely to be going to Masquerade (especially if some people I know are going to be in it), but if Saturday's runs til Midnight that'll work too, could go afterwards.

Don't quote me on this, but if there's enough people coming in who want to learn, the shutdown time for the ballroom may be negotiated with whoever is carrying the key...

Would the scheduling for the night lessons conflict with musicfest?

Musicfest is on Sunday night, which conflicts with the B&W Ball, I believe.  Lessons are on Saturday night, which conflicts with Masquerade.

I thought that the classes would be held in the afternoon.. but ok, evening is fine.

The class schedule is now posted on the FanimeCon website at http://www.fanime.com/events/black-and-white-ball  All lesson times and dances taught should be up there.

.... Darn it I forgot about that. How do you expect me to choose a Ball over LM.C? *sigh* And I wanted to go to a ball this year. Alas. Had I intended to go to the ball then I would have loved night classes. Thanks for letting me know about the scheduling conflict.
