I'd love to be able to bring a rice cooker or crock pot or the like, that is a really good idea. Unfortunately since I'm flying in, I can't afford to put something in my suitcase that uses up that much space and weight :(

that sucks, i'm sorry... maybe one of your convention friends from cali could bring theirs, and you could have a rice party in one of the hotel rooms lol

Did someone say rice party? I have a pretty decently sized rice cooker if someone wants to use it. ;)
thats one way to make new friends :D another thing to stick into my backpack of stuff. as if there's enough clutter on it.

this actually sounds like a good idea :D
anyone else interested in a rice + chinese food party? I know several places where I can get awesome chinese food til 3am. and we could either take it back to a room or gather out in the concourse and make all the other starving people be jealous. [again not technically sharing it with general public] but more of a group of friends having awesome food.

I'll volunteer my room for a little rice get together. What do people say about that?
That sounds really cool. ^^
What day are you thinking about anyway?
This sounds like fun. Would love to know a day like Somebody?
I may make it if it's at night.
first I need to know the time and then i'll see if I can make it.
i'd love to come! would we order take out and or what?
I want in on this! I could bring my chibi rice cooker too if the group gets a little big.

i didnt know so many people liked Rice. :P and here i thought i was joking about the party aspect and was just gonna let Moonblossom or whoever needed a rice cooker to borrow it.
People also like any excuse to party, I'd imagine. :D
So is this a BYOC (bring your own chopsticks) kinda thing?
Chinese takeout + rice cookers? :3

I guess I have no idea anymore @_@
im down! i can bring a rice cooker also if needed
well, would we order entrees from a restaurant and make our own rice?
If there is rice I am most likely there!!! O_O
... rice party? ...we're such a strange group... :P
Two notes:
1. Check with the hotel before bringing rice cookers/hot plates/crock pots/whatever. They're not always allowed, and could get you evicted from the room!
2. Outside food and drink may not be allowed in the convention center... don't be surprised if a member of the SJCC asks you to take your food outside.
So as long as we pull back into someone's hotel room (which allows rice cookers) we should be fine?
Schedule's out, time to decide a meeting place/time~!

Looks liek we'll have to distract them and sneak it in then.>.>
jk. :D
Rice sounds amazing right about now.... ^^ I will definitely have to be there.

indeed.Or anyone else liek Jerry. ;)
The clock is ticking...
I think we need a hotel room for this, cause of the rice cookers. :s
I want my late night night chinese food! ;o;
I'd like to apologize to everyone about this. It was only meant to be like 4 people and our guests attending but then got really out of hand very quickly. There were problems with hotel crowd, rice cookers being allowed and then if a fee should be charged so the few people bringing things would not get used by many people wanting free rice. Maybe nest year with more planning something like this can happen ^^
I'm still game for some late night Chinese, doesn't have to be today. :s
*tummy grumble*
