So here's a topic for your funny/sad/weird/etc anecdotes that you'd like to share. ^_^
On Friday morning day 1, me and my bf were walking to the Con to pick up our badges (we had pre-reg'd, but got there too late on Thursday to get our badges early). I parked in a small $7 flat rate parking lot behind the con, but wasn't too sure about how to get the convention center from there, so we decided to follow someone who was walking ahead of us in cosplay. We took an unexpected right turn behind some buildings, which we assumed was a shortcut and just kept following.
Soon afterward, we saw him disappear behind a wall. Once we turned the corner we found ourselves in a big warehouse area, and the person we'd been following was nowhere in sight! I saw a small group of people in the opposite direction, so we headed over there. A Fanime staff member nearby realized we were lost, and escorted us through the Dealer's Hall (which was still being set up) and into the main concourse area. ^^;
Adding to that, we then took the stairs down into the registration area and lined up in the surprisingly small pre-registration line... Later after getting our badges and walking around a bit, we realized we had cut in front of a giant section of the line outside the room. ._.;
I was taking pictures of the Gurren Lagann gathering when I heard what sounded like some dude getting pissed off. I kept focusing on the gathering while keeping one ear open, listening to the "conversation". Basically, some guy tried to take pictures of some children without asking the parent first. The father was repeatedly telling the guy not to do it and the dude was just not getting it.
Also, this one blew my mind yesterday. I got an email asking to use my photo gallery from this years con in a massive link list. I checked out the site because it piqued my curiosity. I come across a link with a name that's familiar to me, Brocas Helm, a power metal band from San Francisco. Doesn't ring a bell? It does if you have played Brutal Legend (http://"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVS_TYv3bIQ#t=04m50s"). The web site, reminiscent of the late 90s also features cosplay photography. I scroll down and see a familiar face.
This Guy! (http://"http://californiacosplaytimes.com/metank.jpg") I remember him since my very first fanime back in 2002! He was always with a girl in Cosplay, either wandering around the con or selling stuff in the dealers room. Next year I'm going to say hi and tell him good job on "Defender of the Crown"

being picked up by some really tall man in a furry costume O_O
i haven't been picked up .. in god knows how LOL.. and definally not like that xDDD!!!!
I saw Abe play Mushihime-sama on Maniac difficulty. Now I see why people hate its scoring so much. :(
Also, seeing as many as 15-25 Rocket grunt cosplayers in the Gaming Room. Just...wow. Most amazing group cosplay I've seen. I wish I had taken a pic of all of them.

I actually prefer Maniac's scoring on original Mushi to Futari's Maniac system. Then again I always bank multi at the wrong times so maybe it's a case where I'm just too stupid. x3
I kept getting hugs from people while playing Deathsmiles. Apparently I was really good at it..? Was playing ver1.1 though which looks a lot more complex and hectic than it actually is.
A lot of Klonoa games for sale at swap meet. heh heh heh
Kept getting the ears on my Klonoa hat stroked. I choose not to question it.
the only interesting thing that I recall is ending up in front of the HP Pavilion because I got lost walking back from Third Street parking/was tired almost to the point of sleepwalking at the time T-T
Friday night at E-gaming during the swap meet around 11PM a vendor randomly grabbed me and forced a manga in my hands. Earlier I was playing the candy game with a couple and we won a lot of sweets. I still had a snickers from the machine and traded him the snickers for the manga. The manga turned out to be one of my favorites when I took it out of the bag. Densha Otoko! ;D
Stepping into an elevator full of five people. Then realizing one of them was Momoi. XD
I had the urge to pull out my camera, but I was well aware the two guys with her would elbow my teeth out just for even looking at her.
But still managed to get a little bit of video of her leaving the elevator.
I have another~
I was browsing the Artist Alley with my bf and stopped at someone's booth to look more closely at stuff. A girl decided to inspect the booth more closely too, and just as she walks in front of me my bf decides to touch my butt. >_<;;
I protest loudly and the girl thinks I did it because she cut in front of me, so she started to apologize and ran off. I tried to explain what happened but stopped myself and she got away. :s
If you read the forums, I'm sorry for scaring you off random girl! I hope you stopped by that person's booth later. ._.
I felt bad for the girls who had to kiss at spin the bottle since they were being pressured. Didn't help that the cameras were all on them.

Jun and I rode the elevator with Momoi like 3 times, and every time we had an awesome convo about either alcohol, or something equally awesome.
Momoi loves us~
running into L.M.C a lot through out the convention and they always kept giving me bewildered look cause I hardly acknowledged them. It was rather uncomfortable in some elevator rides and passings. I had no idea they exisited until my friend told my Monday by pointing at a picture of them. >.> <.<

....They joined willingly. There is literally no reason you should feel bad. It's not like they were forced to turn tricks to feed their babies or something.
running into DJ Hellsing from gaia every few hours, wierd since i'm not on gaia anymore and he remembers me from something i did years ago...
somehow i ended up in a "staff" party at 3am monday morning, sitting on the floor drinking with Paolo, and meeting Mr Wendel and Gary., and yeah, saturday afternoon i was dressed as a cowboy, heading back to my room at the fairmont and met some of the guys from FLOW, they were asking me why i had a cowboy hat and a stick pony.
I ran into Chief Pikachu and charlie the charmander while shopping and got a picture with them! also I saw Pedobear molest some random guy. (though I think that probably happened a lot.)
I was waiting in the elevator lobby in the Hilton when some Kingdom Heart cosplayers came by. One of them gave me a hug, it was the 2nd time she hugged me (hugged me earlier in the day); this time though her mother saw this and was none too pleased. She mildly scolded her daughter not to hug strangers. As we entered the elevator, the mother pointed to her daughter and said "you 16" then pointed at me and said "you 25 no hugging". The whole time all I could do was smile and hold back from laughing.

Well it does help that she has some vague recollection of who the f%@k you guys are. XD
Momoi has yet to know the sheer awesomeness of an obscure podcaster in a cheaply made wrestling mask, but she will soon know.(but most likely not)

Oh my, that's hilarious! Glad my mother wasn't there, she might've said something similar ::) :P
I'm having a hard time thinking of any good stories, but on Friday or Saturday morning one of my crew members and I were out filming and ran into two of the TMNT. (I honestly can't tell you who they were because I've never seen more than a few minutes of the movie/show and I didn't think to see the headband color, but I know neither of them were Mikey. I'm sure one of the rest of ya'll saw them, do you know which ones they were?) Anyway, we had a decent conversation with the pair, one of which was AMAZINGLY in character. He was a riot! I hope to get this piece of film and post it on Youtube soon! :P
I played air hockey for six hours straight with a man named josh.
that's some hardcore stuff right there.
DJMAX Technika roulette...too bad most of our attempts ended in some sort of failure. :(
Does anyone know the name of the dude playing the para para game? He was really good, he was wearing (wtf is it called again?!) a wifebeater (i think...) He was incredibly fun to watch.

Was it Saturday or Sunday you played? Also do you recall 4 guys playing, one with long hair in a ponytail? One with long hair and a beanie? One overweight with a stache and a white guy?
My cosplay group organized a little meet up on Friday night at 10 p.m. so that people would have a chance to know who their fellow cosplayers were. I expected 3 or 4 people to be honest. Before I knew it I was suddenly surrounded by about 30 people for this meet up. It was amazing. Probably the most fun I had at the convention.
Some people joined who weren't in our group, but they made it even more fun. I have pictures of some guy using my BrightHeart doll as a projectile from a rocket launcher. There's a picture somewhere of another person pretending to eat my BrightHeart doll. There was an ongoing battle for a box of cheese-its. I had so much fun, and I totally wasn't expecting to have a lot of fun right then.
Ended up selling various peoples items at the Swap Meet, including my own. It was honestly the most fun I'd had the entire weekend (my friends and I joked about how I had the more fun working than not working). Met many a strange person that night (which is awesome), from a guy who had a religious tattoo with the Star Trek symbol in the center on this chest, to a few people I'd met a few times from my universities anime club, to a few creepy old guys who were clearly leering at women (which I reported...that's a bit...much..).
Got to spend and afternoon wondering around San Jose with a few friends I only get to see twice a year. Cherished time is happy time. One friend was so tired when I ran into him, he mistook the cigar I handed him for chocolate and tried to eat it. Hilarity ensued (I'm eternally glad I didn't lite the thing first 0_0).
And I was introduced to Guyver and Casshan, both of which I'm greatly enjoying.
When I was in my blue female soldier (TF2) cosplay on sunday, some guy told me I had nice boobs. xD
Then later a parent asked if their little kid could take a picture with me. Um, little kids play TF2 now? It was probably the rocket launcher actually.
1. I was walking around Dealer's Hall in my Soul cosplay when suddenly I heard the sound of squeeing and some girls yell "SOUL!", and then a second later I was being glomped and hugged, and there was more squeeing. Then they all ran away before I could even react. xD;
2. Two of my friends (one of which was wearing her "FREE HUGS" shirt) and I were going back to our hotel room. Our neighbors were having a random hallway party and we exchanged hellos before going into our room. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door and when we opened it they were all "HEY. WHERE'S OUR FREE HUG?" So my friend went and hugged them all. xD If you guys are reading this, you're awesome!
3. Lost my Pokewalker with Kamina (my Beedrill lmao) in it. Searched everywhere and was very upset, then turns out it was simply on the floor of the hotel room. Fail. (And I'd called my friends I was rooming with asking them to look for it while I searched Dealer's Hall, but they said they were being lazy and didn't feel like it. THANKS FOR TAKING LIKE 3 SECONDS TO LOOK AT THE FLOOR, GUYS. *slapped*)
Getting breakfast Saturday morning.
Lady: "What black hole was I sucked into?" XD
Dinner at Johnny Rockets.
Congoer: "Is it usually this busy?"
Employee: "Naw, not really."
This con was very fun overall...I'm pretty sure only a few people will get this but....
"You're AWESOME -double thumbs up-"
"Yeah, don't you know who he is?!" :P that was a favorite. one person took us seriously. what a riot.
I really enjoyed the Dating panel with Ric and Karen. as well as Iron Fanime. Iron Fanime had some spots but overall it was hilarious ( I was at another event during Whose Line...) "SPPPOOOOOOON"
My story is a bit of a staff story ._.
I was walking around on shift and had to tell someone they can't have signs that solicit and they were totally cool with me and say I was the most awesome staffer they met and gave me hugs :3
It was late on Saturday or Sunday, But I'd have to say they totally made my day and made me want to keep being a Rover for next year too. :D
I just remembered something silly that happened~
One night (I don't remember which) I asked one of the guys in my group to walk me back to my room (it was late and all the creepy people around make me nervous >~<') and just as we left Stage Zero a group walked by singing Bohemian Rhapsody. We promptly joined them as they were walking the same direction we were headed, and the pair of us sang along. (Although, I only really knew the parts used in DGM abridged, he knew the whole thing since they sing it in his choir group xD) Fun times~
... all of my stories are funnier if I tell it in person =(( LOL
How could I forget about the Pokewalkers.
When I had initially gotten my copy of SoulSilver, I thought that Pokewalker was the stupidest thing Pokemon had done on a long line of stupid things. But, I figured I'd fire it up for Fanime. So glade I did, I met a lot of really nice people. I ended up throwing in a Magnamite, which I had nicknamed FanimeCon. Turns out a lot of people thought that was really funny.
A little bit ago, I read something about the Pokewalker I didn't know. Apparently, when you put a Pokemon in it, it takes note of your current team. When you use it on someone, a copy of that someones team is added to the training school in Veridian City. I got to battle the last 10 people I had connected with and I remembered many of the names.
Fanime memories are fun memories.
I was on my way to the convention center, thinking that there was going to be a long-arse line. BUT NO! My companion and myself slid in like buttah and got our badges with swiftness and agility. Best, feeling, ever
since i'm a gaia-tard and all that, i was super excited to meet lanzer randomly in the artists alley :)

also, i didn't cosplay this year, but some random teenage guy stopped me in one of the hotels and was all like "oh my god your costume is so good, did you make it yourself?" i was just wearing stuff i normally wear, so i was confused about what he was talking about.
