So this was just an idea that we at KakuiCosplay would like to share with everyone. We are a small cosplay group, but love to meet new people and have fun adventures, so we thought, why not have a gathering?
Our plan for this is so that everyone can meet new people and make friendships, bond over funny games and contests, and of course have fun competing for prizes. This gathering is open to everyone, all cosplayers. Regardless of what you are cosplaying as. We are still formulating the games, contests, and prizes; we are taking suggestions.
Location:
FanimeCON '11 @ the left side of the fountain. You will see a Belarus, Belgium or Ukraine cosplayer holding a sign reading "All Cosplayers Welcome!"

You're not being selfish at all, don't worry. My cosplay group and I respect that cosplayers want to attend gatherings for their anime/manga. We are attending the Hetalia gathering ourselves. We want to pick a time and date that would work best for everyone. So don't feel selfish in your request.

Okay then, I think you should plan for both a large and a small group of people. At the Naruto picnic last year, we had a group of around 10 people and we played card games like Uno and larger games like duck, duck, goose/ red rover. I wish I could be more helpful.
Card games! That's brilliant! I can't believe we didn't think of that. There are so many different types of card games that can be played, maybe even have a small Poker contest? Ha-ha, who doesn't like duck duck goose ;D ? I sound like an idiot, but what is Red Rover? I've never heard of it before.

Is it like a gathering for all cosplayers or crossplayers to have fun and meet people and such?

Well, my cosplay group and I thought this would be a good way to meet and hang out with other fellow cosplayers. Everyone from all fandoms are welcome, even if your not in cosplay attire. We just want everyone to meet, play games, hang out and generally have fun. We will be having contests, games, and prizes.
My friend,
NeoVerona is also considering bringing Onigiri (Rice Balls) for people to snack on. We are giving away out stuff to the contest winners and at the end if you didn't win anything, but still want to buy something that we brought, you are more then welcome to pitch us a price. All our stuff will be cheap. Our goal is just to socialize and have fun.
Sounds like it really would be something I might like to attend.
I might be able to perform something too if there's like a boom box or something that can accommodate a CD.
But it sounds great =)

Ya, it's outside, I'm sorry about that :( It's the only place we have available. Still it'd be wonderful if you joined. This is our first time doing something like this, so we're nervous but we promise to try our very best!

I was thinking of some other stuff that you might fun or interesting.
I think to make poker more interesting...to make it texas hold em.
It's fairly easy to learn and very interesting to see how different people play it...well if you follow it. ^^;
Just a suggestion for the dance off...since it's outdoors people might get injured if they accidentally try something and fail.
Not saying it'll happen, but at least I'm just thinking it would be better indoors (though I know you said it's outdoors)...at least this part of the festivities. ^^;
Also considered like a batsu game (or punishment game) to be part of the fun too.
It won't be like humiliating or anything...I hope it'll be fun.
Idea taken from the "Silent Library" series...everyone will get to pick a card (like for example 6 players participating).
The cards will be lined up face down and the punishment will be shown on a standee or small billboard or something.
Then everyone chooses their card and whoever gets the 'safe' card will be safe while the only one skull or "punishment" card drawn will be subjected to the batsu game.
It's meant to be fun and harmless (at least in this case) ^^;
Like chug a soda, do a funny dance, sing a song, get hit by dekopin, etc
Something that everyone can have fun with. ^^;
I don't expect these to be taken into much account since it's a late suggestion, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

I might be able to donate a few of my extra manga as prizes...perhaps a box of Fate-Stay Night Dark Saber figurines.
The figurines are still mint condition and un-opened.
Though I would really like to have it sold though ^^;
Same with manga, but we can even have like a sale going on too just to help people get rid of items they don't want.

Um, if you want to donate something you can just tell us when you show up and we will put your items with the rest of the stuff. If you want to have people buy your stuff, then maybe we can have a small period at the ending where you can haggle prices with people? I really don't know.
Also, due to lack of money at the moment, we had to cut a few activities from the list. I'm really sorry T___T The list will be updated in a minute. If anyone can bring stuff for the games, we'd really be grateful.

For the dancing contest and all around music, we will be playing Vocaloid songs mostly. It's basically all that my friend, Tristian has on her Ipod. If anyone else wants to use their Ipod in her speaker system, you are more the welcome to bring it along. When the gathering starts my friends and I will ask what everyone wants to do. We can just sit around and talk, or vote on a game or activity. Don't be afraid to speak up ^^
