Anyone planning on cosplaying K-ON at fanime this year?
I didn't see one for 2011, so I thought I would make one. I'm planning on playing genderbent mio, which I did at AOD. If anyone has any preferences, feel free to offer them, I'm not sure what people want to do.
I hope you guys are ready for Fanime! I'll provide some snacks, and feel free to bring some too! We can try to do some activity if anyone is interested, but other than that I have nothing planned.

If you would like this to be an Official gathering on the Fanime Gatherings list you will need to first update your first post with the correct format. I would also like to strongly suggest reading some of the pinned threads to find out more info.

Hi. Well if people can't really do Friday, how about sometime on Sunday before 2PM? As for me my Friday is free, but my Saturday is pretty busy with gatherings and MusicFest and my Sunday is sorta busy with an afternoon gathering and either the Masquerade or the B & W Ball. When is a good time for everyone?

The
VOCALOID gathering is at 5:00 PM Friday, roughly 30 minutes before your
K-ON! gathering (which will lead to several members not being able to attend due to other gathering)...you could perhaps move it to early Saturday morning (like between 9:00 and 11:00 AM) or just move it to Sunday morning before the other gatherings on that day.
Alright, if Saturday seems to be the better day for the gathering we'll need to figure out what time. Any time preferred?
Currently I put it at 1:30, but if it needs to be earlier, I can change it.
I wouldn't mind meeting earlier on Saturday, my schedule is pretty open but I hope that we can find a good time for everyone to make it.
Right, I wasn't thinking when I made the time change. I'll try to change it to maybe 10:30 or 11 unless there are some complaints.

well I don't have much either but I hosted twice, the second time, I got caught up with so many cosplays so just a word of advice, if you have any gathering planned before, make sure you they are at least 1 hour and 30 mins apart because I was so late to the k-on gathering. Luckily the girls knew to gather without me ^^'' so embarassing.
The first year was the best though. You can always count on fans to randomly come out of nowhere with a boombox and play k-on! music which will create quite a bit of attraction to you guys C:
I also planned a mini tea party or snack break for the first gathering so you guys can host something like that.. just bring snacks and share but man.. people went nuts that year. Pictures stretched for an hour and they STILL weren't done so we eventually had to get on with our activities and ate and then finally photographers went away since we were eating haha.

[On a side note, my friend who's going as Yui has a problem with her skirt, as in its like two inches to tight on her even then she ordered it a full size bigger then she needed :x I know its hard to alter pleated skirts, but does anyone have any suggestions as to a solution? She can wear it a bit higher on her hips for a better fit but then its insanely short on her XD]

If Saturday still works for you, could you please repost so I know you can make it? I want to make sure the first post has the correct number of people actually coming.
Count me and my friend in for sure, not sure if I already posted that I'd be there, but I just found out that my friend can make as well.
I'm honestly glad the time was changed to saturday morning, friday is a hectic day so by the time the gathering rolled around I would have been spent on energy.

well for one the shortest it should get is midthigh else its "insanely short" @_@;
The only thing I can suggest you is to either use a belt since the blazer should hide the top of the skirt and just loosen/un zip until its fine. If your skirt doesn't have belt loops, make them since it should be rather easy.
OR
the other option would be to use suspenders because, once again, the blazer will hide the straps so =w=b
I'll be there as Mugi in her summer uniform, with a set of 4 tea cups!

i didnt even think of suspendors :x thats a good idea, i might be going to thrift store and stuff to and see if i can find her a new skirt that will work with it

I don't think there will be an power outlets in front of the convention, so having an amp would just be dead weight. I'll be bringing a bass, and I think other cosplayers will bring instruments.

I was going to go as Ui since my friend is doing Yui do I wouldn't have to buy a wig, but then I ended up dying my hair bright red XD so I just went with Azusa since she's my favorite.

This might be the last time you guys can check the forums, so I'm glad to be hosting this. I hope everyone can make it, and I'll try my best to make it a fun experience!

I won't show up in K-on cosplay (might be going to RO gathering so I'll be wearing that instead), but I do want to see all the fabulous cosplayers and have some fun too~

I had 1 hour of sleep so I was really struggling to do stuff.
I had fun! I met some really nice people and got free cake, so I can't complain. It was my first convention, so I wasn't exactly the most relaxed, but it was really fun having people take pictures of me, haha~

I was there as the uniformed Mio, and I had lots of fun ^_^ It was my first gathering so I definitely thought it was a success and I loved the cake!

We met in front of the Mariott and basically had it near that trash can that's in front of it.
ahh oh well :P
