So every year there are cosplayers that want to join a gathering, but they are unsure if there will be enough people interested in doing a gathering. That's what this thread is for :)

~ If you started a gathering thread and "Think" it got removed... look here... I'm sure you will find your thread title in one of the last posts... Please be kind and respectful to each other and the more you can help each other the better.

~ If you are looking for other cosplayers from a particular title or genre post that info here on this thread.

~ If your looking for people to join in your FanimeCon skit then those question are perfect to post in here too, but make sure to come back and check.

~ Maybe you want to let people know who you will be cosplaying @ FanimeCon in 2013. That's also what this thread is for :) So post that info here on this thread.

I'm hoping to go as Izumo Kamiki from Blue Exorcist next year (summer uniform hopefully) and I'd really love to have a gathering or meet up if more people are thinking of Blue Exorcist costumes as well. Ive never really participated in a gathering so if someone else wants to take the lead I'd still be happy to help out. I'm super excited about next year so help me join in on the fun!

Cosplays I'll have for sure are red TRAP!Ciel, Maka Albarn, Marluxia, Grell Sutcliff, Cheshire and Sister/Nirvana. Maybe is a sleepy hollow version Ciel Phantomhive.

Wondering if there is any groups hanging out or gathering for Blazblue, have a Carl as well with me.

It's an idea I've been tossing around and I thought I'd share it here since it requires a bit of planning to pull off.

For fans of the movie Kung Fu Hustle, I want to pull together a huge Ax Gang group for Fanime. While there have been others who have done the cosplay before, but never in huge numbers which is something I want to change.

For the group cosplay the outfits are pretty easy

Black suit
White dress shirt
Black tie
Prop Ax (more like a woodsman ax or hatchet as opposed to a fireman's ax)
Top hat (optional)

Most likely we'd just handle the cosplay as a gathering, meet up, take some photos, do the dance (if we know how) then ,if others are up to it, walk around the con like we own the place. Afterwards we'll break and you're free to go.

Anyone up for this?

K&K4ever is running a Guilty Gear/Blazblue gathering and I'm running a Kingdom Hearts gathering.

I dunno if I'll be able to manage dressing up, but I'd love to see this happen!  (must watch film again to check out the dance)  My brother thinks he can make up a foam ax for me with craft foam and silver duct tape...

I want to form a group of  the ouran host club and lipsync "I want it that way" by the backtstreet boys. Im a guy by the way. and Im comfortable with mostly girls cosplaying  as the members of the club. But the few guys who are actually fans of the series are encouraged to join as well. I just thought it would be pretty funny for the masquerade. I want to rehearse it but im happy with just playing it by ear.

me and my boyfriend are doing a big blowout of .//hack characters i'm going as helba and mia and he's going as kite and elk so if there's anyone doing a .//hack gathering or photoshoot (we found one this year by chance passing us in the hall and we had an amazing photoshoot the cosplayers and photographers were super cool <33)

Hey, well i am not new to fanime.. this will be my 3rd year attending (yayz) but I've never really been to a gathering. usually i end up getting lost, or just don't remember where to go. those are both my faults. but anyway onto the point...

At this point in time I am solidifying my cosplays so that i don't end up with the same issue as last year. (too many cosplays..too little days..and not enough energy) :D
so at this point I'm planning as going as Chobits Freya with my friends who's going as Chi. we will be doing Maid versions of them,  designs for them are still in the work. =) so look out for us.  (we'll probably be at the clamp gathering if there is one)


My second Cosplay is the one I'm worried about the most. It will be the first time I've taken on something this difficult. (note: I'm still a newbie). I will be cosplaying as Majeh from King of Hell. his envoy version that shows up in the first 2 books (alternate coloring) . This has been over a year project. I'm fearful of traveling with such an overly styled wig. so any tips for traveling with it would be helpful. (we are driving if that helps)(also any tips for styling would be great).
Also I'm looking for any fellow fans of the series..cause at this point i haven't meet very many people who know the series.  I'd love to meet people who know it  :D ;D :D

so if you can help me or if you know the series, let me know, cause I'm already scared that I'll be weird person running around in the unknown cosplay. (<--has happened in the past)   :P

First off, I'm glad that you're returning. :D I love it when we get returners. Second, there is usually a CLAMP gathering of decent size. If I remember correctly, it is usually on Sundays, but that isn't always a guarantee. You should keep an eye out for it on the Cosplayer Gathering Department's official list (though it may still happen even if it's not on the list.) I plan to keep returning to fanime as long as possibly can. oh, yay for the clamp gathering, i was supposed to go last time but was unable to due to schedule issues. which if it takes place on Sunday i will most likely be unable to attend.  :(  but i will keep an eye on it and hope that will be able to attend it, if not oh well i will still have fun with my Chi.
lol yep ism representing an old series, which is my personal first and favorite series. whether or not people recognize me is something that scared me a little, cause it is a bit of an older series. But hey if you see me wandering around on either Saturday or Friday (most likely Saturday) say hi to me please  :D

Any Le Chevalier D'Eon cosplayers out there who wanna meet up??

I just received my ALPHONSE ELRIC ARMOR COSTUME ( Full Metal  Alchemist Brotherhood) from shadowdalecreations. Cost me $1300. Measurements are off. Doesn't fit me.  It looks really nice!   Im thinking about selling it or having it used for a masquerade skit??? Pm me for details.

So, this is my second year going to Fanime in San Jose. :) I went in 2008 and (in a nutshell) the people I was with didn't really want to be there and they went for my sake for half a day. :S I had fun for the short time we were there and now time has passed by (fortunately XD) and I can come back with a cosplaying VENGEANCE. XD

Anyways, that leads me to part 2 that I am tossing out there. :D My man and I are (on Sunday of Fanime) going as the book versions of Erik (The Phantom) and Christine Daae from Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera (probably with a small anime spin on them). If anyone wants to join the book version cosplay with us, you are most welcome to. :) If not, that's great too. :)

If for some crazed reason you want to know the difference, I'll give a brief explanation. In the musical/movie Christine is usually depicted as a brunette, in the book she is blonde with blue eyes. Also in the movies/musicals the phantom is rarely deformed correctly, he usually is depicted as having a half mask or something such as that. In the book, however, he has a full mask and without it he has no nose and what is described as "yellow eyes and a terrible death's head" - much like a zombie-looking horror. Although I love the musical/movie, I love the book more. Rarely does anyone try to depict Erik and Christine correctly in cosplay form, so we want to attempt it. XD

We're super excited about the drastic contrast that the book version will provide of these two characters. :D There will be a lot of attention to detail with our costumes and we just hope to entertain ourselves, as well as whoever is there. :)

Forgot to mention, if you're interested, you can be from either the movie/musical too. :) The more the merrier. If you're interested in the book and have never read it, just ask myself and I can tell you what you want to know. Or you could just read it. :O

So Ive always wondered What it would be like to roll up in my RX-7 which will be covered with Ayanami Rei decals for fanime.
I figured why not make it a special gathering with other cars covered in their owners favorite stuff!

Oh wow, that is awesome!  I'm working on Takarazuka version Erik cosplay right now, but I'm not sure yet if I'll bring it to Fanime.  Either way, I will keep an eye out for you two :)

The Pluto is on the thread for this years Kuro gathering so you can find him there, his picture last I saw was of him as Pluto so you should be able to figure out which one he is on there.

Is anyone else going as characters from Prince of Tennis? I know there are always a few of us at the Shounen Jump gathering (or at least there have been in the last two years) but it would be nice to actually get a gathering going if there are enough of us...

I went as Echizen Ryoma to the Shounen Jump gatherings for the last two years; I can also do Yukimura Seiichi or Inui Sadaharu (or I should be good on Inui before Fanime, just need to order the wig).

Which characters are you looking for for P&S?

I'm looking for someone to cosplay Saiyuki with? ;3; I'll be going as Gojyo.or fem!Gojyo depending on how things go. (Here's what the last minute version looked like. http://pharaohmalik.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d49qt9q I'd be fixing the wig obviously. I put it together day of con.) I'm 5"6 but with heels or boots on I can easily hit 5"8.

And I have been tossing around the idea of doing a Panty cosplay... but no one to do it with. My body type is average (as you can see above) so I don't want a petite Stocking obviously. Or I wouldn't mind having a Brief. And gender bending could be fun too. :P

I was debating about wither or not to make a Ragnarok Online gathering :) Would anyone possibly be interested?

I'm also wondering if anyone will come in DW cosplays.  XD  I've a fondness for Sima Shi and Zhou Yu~  Although I know a few people who're contemplating coming as each of the kingdoms, they have to finish their cosplays still~

I'm not sure there is an exact gathering for that, but a lot of gatherings will have people who are crossplaying or gender bending characters.
Take Kuro gathering for example; on average 80% of all the Ciel, Sebastians and Grells are crossplaying x'D

I will be a Sebastian with black angel wings! I'll be wandering around with large wings so I won't be hard to miss! I probably won't be wearing the wig though unfortunately but I do have natural dark hair so I'll still fit him. Don't be afraid to approach me either ;D lol

The reason why I ask if anyone is doing her is that I'm doing a dark angel (all black tux with red bowtie) and I'd like to have a partner fit the theme :D if you would like to duo let me know. My girlfriend Skuld will be doing Hellgirl in the school uniform. We might be able to get the kimono done by fanime, but she'll definetly be the school version at some point.

I'm new to Fanime, and I'm really excited about going.

Here's who I'll be cosplaying as.

Fluttershy from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. If I don't have a yellow outfit by then, I'll be wearing a pink and teal-greenish dress with a scarf/sash that has her cutie mark on it. And a pair of angel wings, hopefully dyed yellow by then.

Megurine Luka from Vocaloid. I'm not gonna do anything canon, since 1: I don't have enough time. and 2: my friend invited me to a Vocaloid meetup (different than the gathering I think..) on Saturday, and she doesn't want any duplicates. But yeah, I'm not sure what outfit I'll wear as her, yet...

Shuichi from Gravitation. If I don't have a canon outfit by then(which would be the orange hoodie and cargo pants), I'll have a fanon outfit, which consits of a blue shirt with a peacesign on it, a black short-sleeve hooded jacket, and black jeans. And I'll have my Kumagoro plushie as my prop. I'll cosplay him on Saturday, and maybe Monday if I'm there the whole weekend.

Stocking from Panty & Stocking. Since I can't get/make anything canon(I was hoping to do her school clothes...) I'll be wearing black almost everything. Dress with short skirt, shoes, choker, fishnet gloves, all black. Except the stockings are black and blue striped, of course.

So yeah, if anyone's cosplaying from the same anime/shows as me, I'll be looking for you. ^^ Sorry none of my outfits are canon yet.. I'm still newish to cosplaying.

well, the entire SKET dan situation is a bit complicated right now. We don't actually have a Himeko, although I could talk my friend through into bring out his Switch. I on the other hand, am still iffy about Bossun (however the Switch/Gintoki hybrid is on the definite to-do list for me).

So if it all goes according to my plans & I find a Himeko on site, then either the entire SKET Dan will show up. If not, then just Switch & Bossun. Worst case scenario, only i show up w/ my Switch/Gintoki hybrid. At least i'd be wearing something related to Gintama on me.

You misunderstand, my Bossun is the standard version. My other costume is a Switch + Gintoki 2-in-1 & gets 1st priority in terms of completion.

My friend, for certain, is covering default Switch. I wanna be sure that he'll bring his out, otherwise I don't wanna deck the Bossun just by myself. Let's just say, me & shorts = don't get along very well...

There have been Outlaw Star cosplayers in the past- few but still there. The most common cosplay is actually Jean rather than Melfina or anyone else.

Thank you sooo much for all the replies! My official time slots are now full!

However, I will be spending non-scheduled time running down and hunting cosplays, so you still have a chance to be shot. And this may feel a little unusual, but if you see me, you can also request a few minutes of footage done. I should be easy to spot, I have a silver pipe home-made steadi-cam rig. I'm so happy to see posts about Cowboy Bebop!  Also, my vote is for Ulala.  Without a doubt!

For the Cowboy Beboppers: I was thinking of wearing my Jet Black on Day 0, at the very least.

Haha, I knew that Ulala would be more popular. ;) It is always a really popular one when I wear it, but honestly, it isn't one that I particularly like to wear (though it is fun, I can get the wrong kind of attention...it's the same reason why I'm not bringing my Hard Disc Maj. Kusanagi this year, as much as I love that costume). I'll have to decide if I'd rather wear something that is more popular but not one of my personal faves, or if I'd rather bring something that I aboslutely love to wear but no one recognizes. (Not that I don't turn some heads when I'm carrying Lady Blackpearl's 6' hammer, even though no one has heard of Legend of Mana...) It also depends on car space -- I'm going to have a 6'+ double trident for The Condesce, so who knows if I can fit them both in the car!

Though, both might be left behind in favor of that AAI group, if I can get that costume + two rather elaborate and prop-heavy ones done.

As I said, once it gets closer to the con and I can see what is realistic to bring along with what gatherings I want to and can attend, I'll probably post up a more fixed schedule, and see where Julia fits in.

To all those responding to the cowboy bebop.. I was planning a Faye Valentine cosplay. I'm glad there's so much love for the series! I was worried I would have a hard time finding another character from the series (i.e. other than Faye).

Usually there is a fighting game gathering that covers the Capcom fighting games. If you mean ALL Capcom games, there hasn't been one before that I know of

I'm seeking two spotters. :3

One for a few hours Saturday and maybe one for a few hours on Sunday.

On Saturday I shall be debuting my new Pokemon fursuit (I don't want to give too much away but it's going to be one of the new guys~)- if I get it done in time- and will be attending the gathering in it. I want to hang out with some other people for photo ops afterwards. Another pokemon cosplayer would be awesome but isn't required.

On Sunday (or another day, not permanently decided yet) I'll be wearing my Lucario fursuit. It'd be wicked awesome if my spotter would have a Sir Aaron or Riley cosplay~ :D

I can basically walk around without help (as the visibility in both is pretty good) but I was thinking hanging out with someone or a group of people would be much more fun (and easier for answering questions because I don't like to talk in suit). Also, my picture is going to be taken a lot. (I mean A LOT, I wore Lucario last year and it took forever to get from one place to another) This is why it'd be best if my spotter(s) will be dressed as a pokemon character so he/she could join in without getting too bored. :3 (it also won't be for the whole day. Maybe just 2-3 hours tops, unless both of us are having too much fun demanding everyone's attention~)

I was just wondering if there were any others? :) I was planning to go as Turbo one day, Vannellope another, and MAYBE King Candy. He seems like someone who'd be fun to be for a day.

But seriously, I can't be the only one? XD if there are, who wants to meet up and hang out or do a photo shoot or something?

I was thinking of making a gathering for WiR/Sugar Rush cosplayers since I'm sure they'll be a lot and we wouldn't have to take over the Disney gathering xD I'll be cosplaying Rancis, and I'll have some other racers and characters with me(Vanellope, Turbo, Jubileena, Candlehead, Taffyta, etc)

I've run a couple gatherings before and know how to put together different group shots and stuff, if you want I can help you out :)

Probably a worthless question, but I am on the lookout for anyone cosplaying anything Broadway? Particularly Phantom, as I was hoping to pull together a Christine Daae ensemble (in light of the musical's 25th Anniversary).

With the new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime out now I was wondering if there is a cosplay gathering for it? I know there have been gatherings in the past but they were all small. Just wanted to know since my boyfriend and his friend are probably gonna do Dio and Jotaro.

With the 3rd game, Hypderdimension Neptunia Victory about to be released, and an upcoming anime later this year, I was wondering if anyone was planning to cosplay as any of the characters from this series?  I've only seen cosplay for it once, but it seems to be developing a cult following like other NIS franchises.

I plan to hopefully go as turbo one of the days, turbo being my fav character, if other people are going and want to meet up, what would be a good day to meet? I would like to know in order to get a ride there that day :)

There isn't a set gathering, I don't think. There will be tons of JoJo cosplayers, though. My friends and I have a small SBR group planned. Maybe an official gathering will be set up once the con gets closer.

Just curious, is anyone doing Future Diary/Mirai Nikki at fanime? I might be Yuno~ :)

Not from the anime but my friend and I are wearing AKB48 outfits for one of the days.

I'd be so down if this was on Friday or Monday. I don't have everything "set" yet, but I know for a fact I can't do Saturday ( FF gathering), and Sunday is unlikely.

I am looking for some people to do a Fruits Basket sketch for the cosplay spectacular (masquerade). Further details will be provided once more cosplayers are on board, but for some starting out details:

-you do not need to have a Fruits Basket costume already
-ideally I would like all of Juunishi plus cat and Tohru (so fourteen cosplayers)

I don't want to give too much away right now in case I can get this show on the road but please reply if you are interested. I do have back up plans but I just want to start with the ideal situation right now and that is one laid out above. And you have friends that might be interested, then tell them.

I am looking for a few cosplayers for a Hetalia Skit for the Masquerade this year. We're looking for a Northern Italy, Germany, and or an America. If you'd like to join us, you would need to have made your own costume as that's one of the rule requirements to enter the Masquerade. The anime is a story about finding the identity of a murderer that killed a member of the HOMRA group. The HOMRA group wants revenge on the murderer and things get out of control and chaos is involved. The genre of this anime is mystery and supernatural. I don't think I did a good job explaining what the anime is about so go watch the first episode and see what it is.
