O hai gamers <3 I want to know from you what games (any platform: Arcade/Console/Tabletop/Party) you want to see in the Gaming Hall for 2012! For those that apply, do not post games that involve running or harsh physical contact. I don't like seeing injuries! I will consider all entries from everyone! :D
To note: If you are a group who wants to host their own game, you can also post to this thread and I will work with you to push your event!
Moar Maid RPG.
Haha I agree with TC. More Maid RPG.
Also- ;) WhiteWolf/Werewolf the Apocalypse games pre-weird changes?
I pushed it last year, I'm pushing it this year: OTOMEDIUS EXCELLENT FOR XBOX 360. Anyone who supplies the game, I will TAKE ON ALL COMERS. Prove your mettle at the greatest sh'mup since Gradius! Also...if someone can get a hold of it, and enough people are into it...how about a Busou Shinki tournament?
Persona 4: The Ultimate (the P4 fighting game)
Gundam Extreme Vs. (PS3) needs to have its own tournament at Fanime, and I will support it happening in whatever way I can. PM me or something and let me know what needs to be done on my end to make this happen.
Also, I'm sure a friend would be willing to help me host a Yomi (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/43022/yomi) tournament in addition to the accompanying panel I've been mulling over.
Heh I would vote for Sexy Parodius =-)

I'd love to see Fluxx in the gaming room. It's pretty easy for people to pick-up and a lot of fun to play. I've been indoctrinating my friends into it for the past few months and now we're all trying to collect the different theme decks. (Monty Python FLUXX tends to be the most fun for nerds.)
Skullgirls if it's out by May, and Vampire Savior if someone has it.
Maid RPGs yes I also think this should be done
i think just dance should be there. or mayb DDR again or sumthn dancingish :D

Moar Maid RPG.
I'd be willing to run it as part of my whole 'Pimping Cel-Style Games' duties.
I'm also going to be running late-night Bliss Stage, and Panty Explosion and FATE/Stay Night (using the Dresden Files variant of the FATE system) during the day.
Project Diva Arcade!
QuoteProject Diva Arcade!
i agree wit tht!! ;D
Tanto Cuore!
I'll have Otomedius Excellent there, I'll see about what else we can do! Wish I knew someone with a Project Diva!

New People shipped their Project Machine to Japan back in mid-December. =(
We can always ask when they'll get it back.
Ca$h 'n Gun$ (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/19237/cash-n-guns)
I might also be willing to bring some of my boardgame collection* if enough people are interested in specific games: http://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Dracil?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1
*Note: NOT up-to-date
I can probably host a game of Maid.
I should also have Far West by the time Fanime rolls around....
....
Oh man... Now I want to host a Far West/Maid mashup.... I wonder how feasible that will be...
Might be able to borrow a copy of Shadow Hunters, and I'll be bringing We Didn't Play Test This At All definitely. I'll ask my friend to remember Tanto Cuore.
I noticed they'll not be a tournement this year for Twinkle Star Sprites (sadly) but I certainly hope it will at least be back at Fanime, alongside Powerstones 2.
Also Mario Kart 64, which has been sorely missing from the usual great selection of N64 games for the past couple of years now.
Persona 4 Arena!
NOTE: All eGaming info goes here:
http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,17039.0.html
Also, This is only Revision 1.0. There will be more changes on the way. Keep on suggesting and we will reply back ASAP! ;D
i would like there to be just dance 1, 2, & 3. and also the michael jackson game on the wii please.
I will be bringing my Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection if anyone wants to supply a Fat PS3 for it to be on.

Project Diva Arcade!
I have Project Diva Dreamy Theatre 2 on my PS3, which is sort-of close ;).
Problem is that it's a download-only game from the PlayStation Store, and the eGaming Official Thread says "do not bring your own system..."
Any word that we can get skullgirls added?
Heyo. Just wanted to add that I'll be at FanimeCon this year along with Bliss Authority, Ben Lehman, and a few others for Cel*Style stuff. I'm still working out what exactly I'll be doing, but a preview of Golden Sky Stories is a strong possibility (http://yarukizero.wordpress.com/2011/10/29/yuuyake-koyakegolden-sky-stories-is-coming/).

Does this mean I can buy it at the con?
Also, what's the chance of a game or two of Magical Burst? It was a hit with the students I tutor, even though I had to change the game a bit to work with less dice rolls.

Unfortunately we have a good deal more work to do before Golden Sky Stories will be ready to sell, plus I'm not sure if we're going to be set up to sell stuff at the con in the first place. I haven't decided what exactly I'll be running, and to be honest I'm not super-confident running Magical Burst, but if there's enough interest I'll be willing to give it a try.

Ah, I understand. I'll continue following and hopefully we'll see a kickstarter for it in the near future :D I think, regardless of what you run, people will have fun~
so...is this the place to find like minded-gamers who just recently discovered Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS is awesome :) ?
I'd love to find a gathering of gamers playing this game :D and play local 3vs3 Light vs Dark or, Free for all against 5 other players :")
Bushido Blade 1 and 2 for the Playstation. Retrogaming, WOOT!
Skullgirls for sure! Mike Z, the project lead, stops by Fanime almost every year to play GG and BB. How cool would it be to play his own game with him?
Gundam Extreme Vs
Skullgirls
and Catherine!
yeahhhhhh
Catherineeeeee :D
QuotePC Gaming only: you are allowed to bring laptops or PC's. Whatever content is displayed to the public in your laptop or PC does not conflict with arcade (i.e bringing Street Fighter IV when there's an arcade cabinet present) nor is illegal at cons (i.e. Stepmania, MUGEN).
Does this mean osu! is prohibited?

osu! isn't an arcade game, and it has many anime songs. Many would find this game very enjoyable.
If allowed, I could provide a setup for this game.

Unfortunately, Osu! is prohibited. It falls under the same legal issues with Stepmania and MUGEN. :(
Is it because it's a non-commercial game?
A detailed description of this legal restriction would be really useful in knowing which games are allowed.
Also, I've been to Anime Express convention. While they had very strict legal restrictions there, they had an osu! booth. It was really fun when people gathered around and took turns playing.
Osu falls under the same guidelines as a bootleg copy of anything that's mass produced. Companies get upset when someone takes product of their and clearly modifies them, such as Stepmania and Mugen which are obvious proxies of obvious games. While I personally don't know -exactly- what Osu is, it seems to falling with the others mentioned above so if you're going to play it, then refrain from it in the Gaming Hall. Thankies~
Quote from: 100kV on May 03, 2012, 10:28:13 PMIs it because it's a non-commercial game?
A detailed description of this legal restriction would be really useful in knowing which games are allowed.
Games like MUGEN, Stepmania, Frets on Fire, and Osu! are all open-source software that was designed primarily for personal use only, depending on the licenses such as the Creative Commons. The simulator games like those cannot be used in commerce (aka anything that involves money like people paying for badges) because it violates patents and copyrights of the content. Stepmania -> DDR / Pump / ParaPara. MUGEN -> Just about any fighter. Frets on Fire -> Guitar Hero / Rock Band. Osu! -> Elite Beat Agents.
In addition of the matters, such games allow players to upload custom songs. Unless the songs are originally made or unless you hold a license to popularly requested songs, simply ripping songs from the internet (i.e. Anime songs or Top 40) is also illegal with the said above, except it hits on the recording industry.
Keep in mind that some of the attendees or even press are employees of big companies like Konami, Nintendo, EA, and Capcom. Having attendees say "I came to pay for a $60 badge so I can play that awesome Stepmania and Osu! to play Caramelldansen and other songs provided by staff" is not the most pleasant thing to hear. Let's not be hit with cease and desist orders or even legal actions.
If you guys want this kind of thing, it would be best to do this in a hotel room as hotel rooms are not affiliated by FanimeCon operations.

Though conventions have to patrol copyright violations, the sole responsibility goes against the vendors who provide it. If it were staff that represents the convention, then the convention itself is held legally responsible.
Certain conventions have also been hit with cease and desist orders and were threatened a shutdown due to such violations. Con names not to be disclosed publicly.
Thanks xxxplizit. That's a very clear justification.

PowerStone 2 and TSS will be there, unfortunately there were issues with my Dreamcast systems that were just recently resolved, which is why I didn't add a TSS tourney to the roster this time around. If there is enough interest for it to be brought back, just let us now and I'll do my best to run it.
As for MK64, this has actually been in our inventory for years, no one ever requests it though. Just ask us to switch out the game if you want to play :D
Sad there was no Rock Band. :(
Sad that Beatmania IIDX wasn't there.
My boyfriend always comes to the Gaming Hall to play fighting games and stays there forever. This con it was the saddest amount of video games ever. :[ What happened?
Hihi everyone. Keep in mind that we do rotate our games on a yearly basis and that trends, sadly, do run out. We try to make sure we are up-to-date with the latest games while keeping some of the old favorites.
~*~*~*~*~*~
BTW, what kind of board games do we need? We would like to be prepared for you all.
I might be attending this year for the first time :D yay! But will there be Beatmania IIDX?
We are still working out the details of our Arcade, so please stay tuned on the website (we have a Gaming Hall page) for updates.

Yeah, I'd say there definitely is enough interest in it to go for it (preferably host it Friday evening, say... 5:00PM).
... belated but revelant reply ahoy!
No topic is belated; it just takes some memory to take time out of planning for you all to visit the forums. You can submit suggestions to
[email protected] as well.
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 tournament would be awesome. Me and friend would auto sign up.
Definitely going to be there, running Bliss Stage, Apocalypse World, and possibly Panty Explosion (the game of psychics in high school) if I can get hold of it.

I'm asking around now, but no promises. It all depends if one of my staff has the time to run it in conjunction with other tourneys as well as provide some prize support.
