Title: How will I know if I get a spot in the AA?
Post by: simplylincoln on February 04, 2012, 08:45:56 PM
Is there any way to find out where I am on the waitlist now, or do I just have to wait and see if someone sends me an email saying "CONGRATS! YOU WADED THROUGH HELL AND CAME OUT WITH A TABLE AFTER ALL!!!" Or should I just figure that if I haven't been bumped off the waitlist by now, I won't be getting a table?

When you sign in to fanime artist alley it doesn't tell you what number you are on on the waitlist? :O

I think it takes up to 2 weeks for them to tell you if people got accepted or not.
I am eagerly waiting to see if I got accepted too. I hope I do :<

They've already started sending out confirmations for payment for those that got their tables. It will be through email and you can then pay for your table, etc.

Yeah, it told me right when I applied (I think it was #42?), but I'm really hoping that... 42 people will manage to fail to comply or something... which is a bit of a reach, but it's all I've got. : /

Oh they did? :O
Would they also send out an email to you if you didn't get accepted telling you that you haven't gotten accepted as well? :O

like last year...yes

there will be two emails..
a nice long one saying "congradulations you made it"

and a very very long polite way for saying
"due to the amount of submissions we recieved, we are unable to supply you a table" well there was a forum thread posted like that for 2011...

also somewhere between those two was an announcement for adding more tables but was in a lottery segment!

try not to panic..
Theres a high chance you will get a table, if you submit your form within 6-10 minutes!

Okay! I hope they send out acceptance emails soon! I am so nervous excited from waiting! I already started making stuff but I don't want to make too much stuff just in case I don't get accepted or something like that. And I just got a new paper cutter and really want to cut paper >W<
FFFFFFFFF-
Its okay I won't panic XD I'm just eagerly waiting that is all lol

Title: Awe crap, I forgot my friends name!
Post by: Hachimitsu on February 08, 2012, 04:06:17 PM
don't worry, things will be alright..
as of now.. since I submitted at 12:05pm
I actually got the confirmation noticed letter!...

I also got a noticed regarding about the permit needed for the artist alley agreement...
downside is..I think I need to change my permit..(i forgot to disclose information on my helper!)
is this going to effect the registration or no?

translation:: I registered, IM accepted, I looked over my permit.. I forgot to add my Friends name!..
....im screwed! :-[

Can you call the sellers permit people and tell them that you want a person added on? Or maybe email fanime staff about it?
I registered at 12:06-my friend just got in and she is two numbers ahead of me
so now I am crossing my fingers and hoping.
I a just nervous that is all-but I realize they are doing it one at a time instead of sending out mass e-mails all at once.

I guess they're definitely not doing in the order that accounts were submitted, then. I submitted at 12:04 and haven't gotten confirmed yet.

Hello Artists,

Yes, we are not progressing in the order that you submitted. However, there is little to fear. If you got a table, it is very likely that you will be approved. We are checking to see if you meet the minimum requirements and if your work presents any issues. We want to inform you now of any issues instead of at the convention, after you spent time and effort to make and bring them.

Hold on tight and we will get through the approval process and start seeing what we can do about the wait list.

Thank you all for your patience!

Eric

Just curious, what determines who gets approved first and who's still waiting for approval?

Yes I wonder this too
Because I signed up at 12:06 before the 100th mark was set
and I still haven't been accepted :<
So I wonder how that works.

I think it's just random. I submitted right before 12:06, but I haven't gotten approved yet, either. I think we need to be patient and wait.

EDIT:
I just got accepted.
After step 7 you are supposed to just wait right?
