Title: Can I get a refund?
Post by: Peacechan_esca on May 12, 2013, 05:29:25 PM
Hey guys! Two people in my group (both of which I paid their badges) backed out and are not going to fanime anymore. I bought their badges on the first week the website open up the registration link. Is there a way for me to get a refund for their badges?  :-\

Nope. That shit happened to me on 2 different fanimes. I couldnt get their badges which i bought. Registration only gives whose name is on the badge, regardless who paid for it. You think i would be given the badges or a refund......no.

Sadly...if you read the fine print..no refunds. Maybe next time you should make sure everyone pays for their own badge, save yourself the headache.

I wouldn't really call it "fine print".  To me, that implies the details are in tiny print at the bottom of the page, so you don't see it unless you're careful.  During the registration process, before you pay they do state in large print at the top of the page that the badges are non-refundable, and non-negotiable.

To the OP: Definitely make sure everyone pays for their own badge from now on.  You don't want to end up on the hook for this stuff, especially when passes cost at least $50/each (depending on when you purchased them).  And actually, there's no reason why they can't pay you back now.  True, they aren't going anymore, but that's no reason to hang you out to dry covering their expenses.  Even if you won't see them in person for a while, there's always PayPal.  If you do it that way though, make sure they send the money from their bank account instead of a credit/debit card since if people send you money from those sources, PayPal takes a cut.  If you send it from your bank account though, nothing is shaved off and you will get the full amount.
