Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.
Sadly, no Nintendo/Smash Bros. gathering was held at Fanime 2013, so I wanted to correct that unfortunate oversight for Fanime 2014. Perhaps the reveal of new Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS will goose interest. But as the first post says, this gathering is for all Nintendo characters, so don't be shy if your character doesn't appear in Smash Bros. But bring Smash Bros. props if you got 'em! I'll be sure to bring my trusty Star Rod.
I'm planning to hold the gathering on Day 2 sometime, so we can get as many people as possible without competing with hotel check-in/con registration. But Day 1 worked well in previous years and if that works best for most, I'll certainly reconsider. Day 3 is when I'm planning on holding the Legend of Zelda gathering, and I'd like to keep Nintendo/Smash Bros. on a separate day so it can serve as a "second" gathering option for the Zelda people who might not be able to make the official one.
Not sure about the location, but I'm thinking somewhere with steps/levels would be cool so we can maybe simulate some shots in the multi-tier vein of Smash Bros. levels. I'd love to maybe use the big planter outside the Marriott, but I don't think we can use that for gatherings, so somewhere inside the convention center lobby is more likely.
If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions about anything, I'd love to hear 'em.
I hope to attend as 64 and Melee version Link.

My cosplay group and I are hoping to attend this if we can get our Smash Bros cosplays done! Glad to see someone doing this Gathering, I was going to run one if someone else didn't haha

One my friends is going to be Wario while myself and my other friend are still deciding. We're mostly waiting to see who gets revealed for Smash Bros 4 haha

Depending on the day and how things pan out for me, I MIGHT be able to make it as the WiiFit Trainer! I really want to anyway, the cosplay is already finished, and I've only worn it once. I'm also trying to con my boyfriend into being the male WiiFit Trainer. ;P We'll see!
Hi there! I'm working on a WiiFit Trainer. I'm hoping this gathering will end up being on Friday as many of the larger gatherings (some I plan on attending) are on Saturday and Sunday.
I can't wait for this gathering! I'm gonna be going as the WiiFit Trainer. ;D
If we get a large number of wii fit trainers we should orchestrate her final mash on one of the tiered platforms XD
I replied to the thread on cosplay.com, but I just wanted to confirm here as well, that I will indeed be bringing Sonic :D
Hey all, con's getting close now and I hope all your costumes are in good shape. Unfortunately, things are very busy for me right now and I don't think I can give this gathering the attention that it needs. I hope someone can come forward to run it in my place. I can still maintain this thread and help submit the gathering to the Fanime Cosplay Gatherings department if desired. Thanks!
If someone doesn't step-up you should contact the gatherings staff if you haven't already, they'll probably adopt an orphaned gathering.
I could run this gathering on Friday. If you could submit the SR that would be much appreciated otherwise let me know and I can do it.

Probably around 2 - 3 pm with preference being closer to 3pm so people will have a chance to get their badge. And location at G2 or G3 (unless you think we will need more room?)
My vote would be to have this happen during Friday, any time or location, if that is still being considered.
I haven't heard from Nemuren for some time so I will probably submit the SR myself soon. They will both probably be Friday and I will try to make sure that the times don't conflict.
I've got a gijinka version of King Bowser, so that will be a thing, time allowing for it.

Since another shoot is interfering, I'm afraid I must bail out as Sonic for Friday... that's why I'm hoping (as well as my Little Mac of a boyfriend) there may be a second shoot on another day

I assume after looking at the cosplay.com thread that you are referring to the Fight Game gathering and Capcom vs. SNK. You might want to ask CountMetal if they are sure that the Capcom vs. SNK gathering has been approved, I still don't see it on the official gathering list. Unfortunately I would not be able to make Saturday or Sunday and I wouldn't feel comfortable changing the time this close to con. and I think 2pm is probably the earliest I'd go on Friday anyway because I want people to have time to get their badges (though I'm picking mine up Thursday). And that still wouldn't allow you much time for a costume change. And I wouldn't go any later because then it would be interfering with other gatherings (Fight Game and Cosplay Battle) which might interest people attending this gathering. And I have other event obligations in the evening. I stepped in to run this gathering for 2014 and it was a really positive experience for me and lots of fun! Unfortunately, I wanted to give ya'll a heads up that I will not be able to run it for 2015. I have a wedding to attend in Ohio over memorial day weekend :(

I would suggest trying to contact Nemuren to find out as they have run it in previous years. As I mentioned, I cannot and I also mentioned that to Nemuren in a PM but I have not gotten a definitive yay or nay as to whether they will be picking it up again. Although they have already stated that they will be running the Legend of Zelda gather for 2015 as per usual... so there is a possibility that this is currently an orphaned gathering.
