i love hack it is so cool and fun (the game) i have only really seen like 3 eps but i know i will like the reat any one agree??    :) :) :)
Yes, .hack (pronouned "dot hack") is awesome. The TV series isn't for everyone; it moves at a slow and very deliberate pace. But if you can take that, I found the plot to be interesting and the characterization really shines. The game wasn't so much for me. It plays kinda like an MMORPG, but it lacks that which makes MMORPGs so interesting: human interaction. It trys to make it up in plot, which it does well, but that wasn't enough to convince me to trudge through dungeons for hours on end until the next major plot point.
I like it. I like it alot. I like the shows. I like the games.
Oh, yeah! .Hack is in my veins! I'm absolutely crazy about it!
I have:
.Hack//Games
.Hack//SIGN
.Hack//DUSK(AKA THE LENGEND OF THE TWILIGHT)
.Hack//INTERGRATION
.Hack//GIFT
.Hack//ENEMY and CONTAGION
.Hack//LIMINALITY
And lots more! Oh, oh! And has everyone heard of the new game .Hack//ANOTHER BIRTH? If not, you guys should check it out at:

(Offical Japanese Website)
Even though you can't read any of the Japanese, it's always fun to look at pictures and explore around the place!
.^-^.
.hack....lol...good stuff.
Couldn't get into the games, for almost the same reason as Tsubasa. Loved the series though. SIGN had an awesome plot and I just loved the characters, such a great series. Although, the first...3/4 of the series moved very slow, which I normally don't like, but I was drawn enough into the story to want to know how it goes.
As for DUSK/Twilight, whatever you want to call it, I loved that as well. A much more fun twist in the same setting. 'Twas very enjoyable.
Liminality...that did almost everything but fried my brain...
Can anyone tell me why or how this thred split?

Are you sure its a game? I googled it and it was listed as a novellization.
I love the .Hack series. The music is awesome too. I got all of the special edition CDs that came with the DVDs.
And I am currently finishing the 4th game. I think the game is awesome, though the game play can get repetetive. The secret I think is to take a break from it periodically.
The .hack series is my new obsession! I was hooked eversince the first epi of .hack//SIGN!! If, by some chance, I didn't see/read the series' background(i.e. the entire series IS the game, thus explaining those weird face marks), then I would have not liked it at all. (i guess my missing the 1st epi of ZOIDS kinda ruined it for me, hence I don't like ZOIDS) But I just *LOVE* "thinking" anime(which is what I call anime that's more "wordy" than "action") and from the get-go there was ONE major question that I soo wanted answering: "What made this guy(himself a mystery) loose his memory?" And after having watched the entire series on CN(my ONLY anime outlet), I came to actually CARE for the characters: despise/hate characters, laugh at/with them, and most importantly, cry for them. And THAT'S what determines a great series for me(be it anime or manga). And then, as if I didn't care enough for a series, then came .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet ... and SHE *shudders* ... that... evil... female character, that left her sick Grunty not once, but TWICE, came back! Seeing that epi again on CN got me to asking: just what DID the other girls do to her at the end? Hotaru was curious. (as was i) I've been buying the .hack//SIGN DVDs and the .hack//LotTB(Dusk) manga, but do any of you recommend the LotTB DVDs? The manga and anime of Dusk IS actually different from each other!
And btw, are any of you familiar with the .hack gashapon/capsule toys that are out there? There is two sets(6/5 & 4) that in total have 9 different characters represented. (in Fanime 2K4, the bag of 6 was almost $50!! Here's hoping they come back MUCH cheaper next year.)
...Since I haven't played any of the PS2 games, I felt out of the loop with whatever the "legendary Dot Hackers" did and why they're soo important. Do the "legendary Dot Hackers" appear anywhere else other than the games? And is there any truth to all 4 volumes coming back in a box set?

Other than being mentioned in Legends, they make an appearance in the bonus episode called .hack//integration it was included in the limited edition volume 6 DVD of .hack//sign.
All the characters (from //sign and the video game that is) gather for a party and it wraps up a few loose ends. It was kinda cool.

Wow.. this thread has gone through a lot of dead revivals.
I love the puchigusos >.< I love the .hack//DUSK one the best.. ahhh so cuuute..
I never really got into the game though, too expensive to buy them all.

^_^ has it? And I only just got here!
I must be out of the loop. What are "puchigusos"? And considering the SD style of .hack//DUSK, I was almost not taking it seriously. But I've learned my lesson now.
Ditto. $50 per game!? C'mon! I'm hoping for a GH series or a box set in the future. ANYTHING! (father always says: Never pay full price.)
Puchigusos are called gruntys in the American version.
I still like calling them Puchis though because it's so fun to say XD Plus the DUSK one likes to run around going "puni puni puni puni".
Heh heh... I love Puchiguso too! They're all so cute. I like the .Hack//SIGN grunty more than Dusk. Reason being because the one in SIGN has BIG WATERY EYES! SO CUTE! Ha ha.
Suspicious: Heh, I freeloaded off all the games from my friend. And it's pretty cool. You might be missing out on something real nice. =) If you want, I can lend them to you. But, I must warn you that they take ALOT of room on your memory card. That is, if you have all 4 volumes!

Sure, I'll take you up on your offer ^^
......as soon as I find my memory card... I still need to finish my Okage game on it ~.~ *cries* That and I miss my gummi warship from Kingdom Hearts.

Buy the games used for the best deal. However all the previous edition have gone down in price to 29.95 each. I would expect the last game (vol. 4) to go down in price soon as well.
I am almost finished with the last game. I have beaten Cubia (for the last time) and the last 'wave' boss. I have one more dugeon to go through and then it's the Item collection event.
QuoteBuy the games used for the best deal. However all the previous edition have gone down in price to 29.95 each. I would expect the last game (vol. 4) to go down in price soon as well.
Just today I bought Pt.1 for $20(well, it's
really $19.99, but $.01 is nothing, ne?) I browsed before actually buying and saw a
used Pt.1 was only $2 less.. Plus, it would have been without the manual. Pt.2 used was ~$25, a new Pt.3 was $30, and Pt.4 is still $50....
As time passes by, I'm doubting there ever will be a "box set" of all .hack games(though it
was a "rumor" in the first place) so I'm going ahead and buying them as long as they're $20... Probably no more than that.
I watched 23 episodes of hack//sign, but couldn't finish it. Moved too slow for me, storyline wasn't for my type.
I found the english dub of .hack//SIGN horrible. (Morganna? Say that again? I can't make out what you're talking about) For me, the main hook of the series when it first came out was the music. You just gotta sit through it after that and either love or hate the storyline. The music sounded a lot better than the dub because you have english lyrics with japanese speakers.. instead of english lyrics with english speakers.
I agree, the music was the best part of the series. I thought the english dub was bad as far as voice talent went, but the english dub script wasn't as good as the subtitles. And the japanese seiyuu were great.
So I prefere to watch it subbed. And yeah it was a sloooow moving character driven piece. But it one of my favs.
QuoteI watched 23 episodes of hack//sign, but couldn't finish it. Moved too slow for me, storyline wasn't for my type.
You only needed 2 more epi to "finish" the series!! You were/are sooo close! And isn't anime great that way?... There's different anime to fit all peoples' tastes and no-one
should put you down for it, ne? :D If you don't have a fave anime(series or style/genre) yet, there's lots more to try out.
And yeah, it was real hard to hear what Morganna was saying most/all of the time... but that would be when I'd quickly put on the subtitles and understand her that way. Otherwise, the dub was better than good, imo, but not great... (what's "perfect" anyway?) Being that I'm seemingly poor, since I get my anime from good ol' TV and thus dubbed, that is how I first am introduced to a series... And if
THAT doesn't catch my attention, why would I think that hearing in Japanese would give it a better chance of my liking it? Then again, I could/will argue that whichever version of a series I see first (sub or dub) will be considered the "standard" for its own series. ....Having taken japanese in college, my sensei told us all that the japanese speak in a round-about way. That is to say, they don't get to the point of their statements right away. Which is why I like english for its bluntness. But for the dub to get to the points quicker, I felt there were a lot of filler dialogue that wasn't neccessary, so I'll agree with both of you there.
I say I'm "poor" because I don't d/l my own anime off the internet. No job whose paychecks i can use to buy them DVRs and "burn" my endless library of unlicensed fansubbed anime. Lucky you guys. (if you're sensing sarcasm, you'd be wrong) As I wrote in "guests I'd like to see in 2005", I typed in Wendee Lee and Brad Swaile for english voice actors... I don't have anything against the japanese ones. I just feel the english ones are under-represtented...
I love Tsukasa's english voice actor/actress... I still don't know who it is. Does anyone know? (a list of other works by the same VA would be appreciated) ^^;;
Since I'm basing my current opinions of .hack//SIGN from having watching it on CN when it used to run, they may be a bit off... I'm assuming the BGM is the same in both versions. That's another aspect that got me hooked. I loved the music and would like to find a .hack//SIGN CD that has the better known songs/music from it. (but just one, tho.)
Of the SIGN DVD series, I only have vol.3, 4, and 6... And it won't be until i get the other 3 before I re-watch the series.
.hack PS2 :?: How would you list all the .hack stuff in all four games?
- Infection
- Mutation
- Outbreak
- Quarantine
THEN
- Liminality?
...Liminality is the OVA, right? If a part of Liminality is in all 4 parts(i don't know if it is), why not just call ALL of the PS2 games Liminality? Or is the OVA known by their individual cases they contain? (1st: Mai Minase Case, etc.) Any help is greatly appreciated. And if I happen to have angered anybody, I'm sorry.
ZJCitrusGraffiti: I know where you could have gotten all 4 games for about $20 dollars each. =)
You mean a place that's not online? Good! I, myself, can't drive yet so i have very few limited places where i can go myself and I prefer to see them "in person" so I know what I'm getting. :D By all means, tell me where it is? Thanks.
ZJCitrusGraffiti: Yup. They're not online. I wouldn't trust online either, heh heh. Well, it's at a card shop called SuperStars. It's in Cupertino around Valco the mall. Here's their site: http://superstarsnet.com/ You won't find the games online because it's in their USED GAME section. I hope you wouldn't mind that they're used... I wouldn't but everyone is different. I hope that helps you. =)

I actually found all four games(w/prev. mentioned prices) in two different stores at the Great Mall. :( What I look for when possibly buying a game is IF it still has it's original game manual. And for being .hack, I'd also look for if it has LIMINALITY (*assuming it's ok to "yell" names since it's supposed to be in all caps ^^;;) I thank you very much for giving me a place to go visit. :) I'll go take a look-see when I can. And now that I've browsed the site a bit and found the .hack TCG, I wanted to ask... which one of you have actually bought the game/cards? Did you buy them to play or just for the pictures? How many cards are there total? Being that they are not as popular as Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering seem to be, is there a definite "end" to the card-collecting? If there is, then I may start finding/buying them as well.

WOW! THANX! *looks up Tsukasa's VA* And it's a girl/female!!! O_O! Upon viewing her alias' lists, I NOW know she's even done Tanya's voice in the Battle Athletes OVA! (but comparing the two voices, I like Tsukasa's better) :D And now knowing the voice actress, I can't help but also request for her to be one of our guests for Fanime. *becomes giddy*

I have bought the first season of the .Hack//ENEMY. It's pretty cool, the second set has the .Hack//GIFT cards... Me so want... I play card games such as MTG, L5R, and some others, and I love to learn new ones. I bought them mainly for play. If you're interested in the card game itself, you might want to check up on their producer, Decipher.

Thank you soo very, verry MUCH!! \*^_^*/ It did answer my all my questions! Even answered questions I didn't even THINK of asking yet. (clue in on that later...)
After researching online, I've come to ask(for confirmation only):
There are ONLY 3 OAV DVDs, right? (i had thought there were only 3 to begin with) What does the 4th PS2 game have as an added bonus? another OAV? A site or two suggests that GIFT is in the 4th game subbed.
(taken from site)
"The premium cards in GIFT feature art included in the comical and very rare DVD short that was given to consumers as a “gift†for purchasing all four of the PS2 Games. GIFT was also included as an added feature in the United States PS2 game release titled “.hack//QUARANTINE - vol.4.†"
That paragraph confused me... Does it mean to say that GIFT is included in said item? Or that GIFT is in .hack//QUARANTINE? I've looked and something titled .hack//Liminality Vol. 4: Trismegistus seems to be the "added bonus disk".... Can anyone clarify?
One last question(only to those that it applies to): IF you hadn't seen SIGN first, but were introduced to one of .hack's later incarnations/series, would you still be as fascinated/"crazy" in "The World" as you are now? I can guess even imagining that can be impossible, so a similar experience with another series can be a substitute for the question at hand.

Hm... Well, regarding the .Hack//GIFT... It is a short film by BeeTrain that features the SIGN and GAMES characters in a funny art version. You can check out a review at www.animeacademy.com. In the .Hack CARD GAME, they released some cards that are basically from .Hack//GIFT, well, the artwork that is. They probably have some little weird ability as well... But anways, from what I know, is that in Japan, you can buy the four games in a set, with a nice artbox that comes along with it. I suppose they will release the same thing with a bonus of the cards as well. And also, ,in each game, it is a given that the .Hack//Liminality would be included. So, it must be the cards.
And for that other thing... I don't understand what you mean...

Browsing around Decipher's site(specifically dothackenemy), i saw that such a product, .hack//ENEMY: GIFT set, was available. I must have mis-read somewhere that I could also have some with the GIFT epi too... Along with also mis-reading that GIFT is found in just the Japanese versions of the game. I thought .hack//QUARANTINE had it.
After all of my searching the internet for any more info on GIFT(which came up empty), does anyone have further info on the chances of it being released here in the US?
And my last question is meant to be more understood as: what if you started reading volume 4 from the Harry Potter series and that turned out to be your favorite of them all. But not knowing it WASN'T the first book in the series, would it STILL be your favorite book once you went back and read/saw things from the original begining?
(i hope this way is more understandable) ^^;;
I am pretty sure that .Hack//Gift is on the Quarantine Liminality DVD. Its under the bonus material. I know I have watched it. I will double check when I get home.
I'm a bit bothered about the Dot HAck card game though. I got a really old deck (im quite sure it is now) like a Crim high destiny deck im quite sure people who know the game know how old and annoying that was. Anyway no one plays around my area is it the same around yours?
Yes .hack//Gift is on the DVD that comes with the 4th game. It's under the DATA section (extras).
No one plays the card game up where I live. They dont even carry the cards in the local comic book shop. I have to drive an hour south to find the cards. So needless to say, I havent played the game much and really suck at it right now.

After extensively browsing .hack//ENEMY's official site, I found a list that could help you find where there MAY BE .hack TCG locations. Go to: http://dothackenemy.fanhq.com/Community/UserGroups/GroupList.aspx From there, I've found a few groups around.. but I'm not sure if they still meet at this time. (i hope that the link works)
Mordyan: Thank you very much for the info! It could be months or even years until I found out for myself. Thank you once again! (btw: I'm assuming it's only in subbed format, ne?) *^_^* I've only begun playing INTEGRATION and haven't yet watched Liminality(or is it LIMINALITY?) Seeing as you are more familiar with the entire .hack series than me, could you tell me what would be the recommended order for watching LIMINALITY and playing the games? As it stands, I'm waiting until I finish INTEGRATION before I watch LIMINALITY. (pet peeve: watching things out of order... also watching things that are "out of order") Would the order be: PS2 vol.1, LIM vol.1, PS2 vol.2, LIM vol.2, etc...?? I'm asking because once I see the series in some order, that sequence is stuck with me and pretty difficult to correct/fix. I thank you in advance.
I remembered what an aquaintance and fellow .hack fan said to me one day, that he started buying .hack//ENEMY mainly for the pictures on them. ^^;; That sounded ok, since it would have been hard to find fellow fans of the card game at the time(2yrs ago). The point is I finally bought both CONTAGION starter decks(Kite and Blackrose) mainly for the PC card art. (& @ a bargain too! $7 ea.) Just fyi.
Quote from: ZJCitrusGraffiti(btw: I'm assuming it's only in subbed format, ne?)
Yup subtitled only on that one. Its is a comedy and they make fun of themselves(The characters). A parody I guess you would call it. Its the characters from both the game and .hack//Sign.

If you are only asking about the
ANIME incarnations of .hack(in which calling it "season" would be correctly applied), there are only 2(SIGN and Legend of the Twilight Bracelet(aka: DUSK)) plus the LIMINALITY OVA which can be found in every volume of the .hack PS2 games.
Anyway, this should be the ORDER of .hack:
----- Novel/Book -----
.hack//AI BUSTER (TokyoPop

Quote from: ZJCitrusGraffitiQuote from: Ranma12ok what are all the season of .hack called like i know .hack//sign and .hck//ledgen of the twillight but what else???
If you are only asking about the ANIME incarnations of .hack(in which calling it "season" would be correctly applied), there are only 2(SIGN and Legend of the Twilight Bracelet(aka: DUSK)) plus the LIMINALITY OVA which can be found in every volume of the .hack PS2 games.
Anyway, this should be the ORDER of .hack:

.Hack//INTEGRATION, AKA .Hack//UNISON, is it's own little series of the SIGN characters and GAME characters meeting each other and solving a mystery.
There MIGHT be a second season to .Hack//SIGN, but to your Sora case, Sora was data drained by Skieth in one of the last episodes. When data drained, you then become in that coma state like Mai Minase's boyfriend, Kasumi.
.Hack// AI BUSTER is before .Hack//DUSK. It isn't necessarily before the others. Also, it will NOT be published here in the USA.
Here is a descriptive timeline of it all:
End of the 20th Century:
The US Department of Defense developed the ARPANET, which became the basis of the global communication network we now know as the Internet. By 1999, almost everyone across the world had access.
Beginning of the 21st Century:
As the internet became popular, secret government information became harder to conceal and easier to obtain. The independent communist nations and the militant nations of Middle East attempts a series of political and social changes, five years after the beginning of the 21st century. Meanwhile, hackers continued to attack networks causing communication troubles and increasing the rate of cyber crime.
2002.10
The United Nations subsystem; the network council of the world, also known as the WNC was created. It was required for all the nations that use the internet to participate.
2003.1
The "WNC Winter Meeting" was held. It becomes a general meeting that reveals WNC limitations of power and effect.
2003.4
A new virus called "Hello, WNC" affected the world globally. An e-mail software company, M Corporation, with a market share of 70%, becomes the primary victim of the virus. The damage the virus affects up to ten million users throughout the entire world.
2003.7
The "WNC Summer Meeting" was held, mainly discussing the "Hello, WNC" virus. Pointless theories arise from the public concerning the actual ability of the WNC, unable to deal with problems like this.
2003.12
"Deadly Flash", a new virus appeared. 7 names of deceased humans are revealed. First capital punishment was decided upon the Japanese youth who implemented the virus.
2004.4
The "WNC Spring Meeting" was held. The introduction of the "New Century HyperNet Plan" is proposed by Japan, Germany and Italy. However, the U.S.A. and China oppose the idea and thought it was a waste of time. In result, only the bill of "Investigation and Research of New Viruses", "Technical Security Development Aid" and "Strengthening Reinforced Penal Regulations of Net Crime" and others comes into effect by vote.
2004.8
The Swiss Bank's main computer was hacked, losing 10 trillion and more in Japanese yen. The terrorist organization was also known since the 20th century actively committing crime without being caught.
2005.1
New York Stock Market prices repeatedly jumped. It was discovered that the stock exchange of Wall Street and the main computer of a major company were hacked, after the criminal announced their crime. The criminal has yet to be arrested.
2005 spring ~ fall
The outbreak of cyber crime countinued on. "Security Development Support" and "Internet Crime Eradication" slogans promoted by WNC begin to lose its effect on the general public.
2005.12
"The Pluto Kiss" incident occurs.
On December 24th, the entire internet stopped functioning. Simultaneously, all networked computers and communcation control systems crashed, causing great panic and confusion. The network was able to recover 77 minutes later. The automatic retaliatory system of the United States began to operate erroneously and was moving to a point of crisis. The virus creator was a mere 10-year-old elementary school student.
2006.1
The United States of America's 44th president Jim Stonecold took the responsibility of the "Pluto Kiss" upon himself and resigned from office. The "WNC Winter Meeting" was held. In the year 2004, when the "New Century Cybernet Structure" re-surfaced to the public, they introduced the "ALTIMIT" OS. It was able to escape the damages done by the "Pluto Kiss". Thus, became the world's most commonly used operating system.
2006 Summer
The duty of working on the "ALTIMIT" OS was to show individual accomplishment. However, because of this, the central development staff of ALTIMIT resigned their job. CyberConnect Corporation (CC Corporation) takes over. They became the foundation of "The World". Harold Hewick, a German, which he claimed himself to be, sold "The Fragment" to CC Corp.
2007.1
The ALTIMIT OS continued on into the next generation Network Systems as it spread across the world. The ALTIMIT Corporation (head office in San Francisco) established 12 overseas affiliation firms globally.
2007.5
ALTIMIT's corresponding network game "Fragment" began test play. "Pluto Kiss" caused the placement of a restriction on Networked Entertainment. However within a devastating state for entertainment market revival, the WNC removes the restrictions placed on it.
2007.7
"The Fragment" became the most popular topic within conversations between network game users. As for the prototype of "The Fragment" viewed by the public, rumors spread by a semi-maniac claim for the existence of "The Twilight Tombstone". The CC Corporation attends an International Securities Market Stock Presentation.
2007.10
By October 31st, WNC announced that all of the world's computers switched to ALTIMIT OS. At the same time, all restrictions regarding network use on the morning of December 24th 0 o'clock be removed, as formally announced in the past (The Network Peace Declaration). The United Nations named "The Mother Mary's Kiss" an international holiday on that day. On the same day, in a press conference, the CC Corporation announced the release of "The Fragment" in a big RPG "The World". The date of the release to the public was to be simultaneously on the same day at the same time.
2007.11
beginning of the month "The World" pre-orders were accepted. Within the start of the first hour, more than 100 ten thousand orders were received. The CC Corporation total sales, in stock, exceeded the ALTIMIT Corporation expectations.
2007.11 end of the month
"The World" discountinuance sales rumor began to spread. CC Corporation denied the rumor.
2007.12.24
"The Mother Mary's Kiss" finally arrived. Alex Coleman, the president directing the worlds' "Network Security Declaration" was informed of the start of "The World" download sale.
200X
The character, Tsukasa registered to "The World" (TV Animation Edition).
200X
Aura begins her awakening... (TV Animation Edition & Game Edition).
2001X
Kite was invited by Orca and logs into "The World". (Game Edition).
2001X
Rena is presented the ".hackers official limited edition character" through an election. (Comic Edition).

...um... *ahem* I did a search for .hack//INTEGRATION, and I found that it IS indeed what I said it was... ^^;; (it includes UNISON)
...Tsukasa was in a coma, Komiyan III was data drained... they're both ok in the end... no reason why Sora shouldn't be... (btw: I am waiting until I finish INFECTION before I watch the OVA of Mai Minase)

W-w-w-what?! When was there so many Dot Hacks out there? Are they simply passing me buy without notice? I mean I played all the games checked on the official card site for months on end ( until I quit) and now I hear all this dot hack info...makes me wanna go back...kinda hurl too. Besides that though it also makes me hope that there will be another Dot Hack game where you have a keyboard and/or Microhphone with a complex a.i. where you an talk to your npc's and party members. Wouldn't that be nice?.... Or we could simply make the actual anime into a real online game. I'm sure that dish out huge dollars! What are you waiting for Bandai!

^_^ Well, if one was keeping an eye out for ANY .hack news, they'd find it. As for the card game by Decipher, .hack//ENEMY, though it
does have the characters from the games, it doesn't actually fit in with any of the story lines. And if you played the games, that's great! I'm JUST NOW starting to buy them, but I can't seem to find volumes 2-4. :\ (one can say .hack is my obsession XD )
^_^ OOu, I just saw this thread.
I've been keeping up with .hack//STUFF for awhile now. I'm trying to get the games, but I've kept an avid watch over the TCG which plays very well. My husband and I have been playing it for a year.
As for the anime, I've been all of .hack//SIGN including Unison and have the OAVs. *_* Ahh... the music is lovely. my sweetums has all the OAV music.
Yes, the music is awesome. I got all the music CDs from the series. Yuki Kajiura is fantasic. Though I have to say I like the the music from .hack//SIGN more than the .hack//Legend of the Twilight.
I went to Suncoast and found the .hack//SIGN soundtrack for $17. I love it so much XD. I happened to have listened to it on my way to work today.

oo i just loved that cd i borrowed it for like only a week but it was a great cd i cat wait to buy it for my self ^_^ :D
Have you guys heard the second .hack//Sign CD? It really cool as well. It has one of my favorite songs on it from the series: In The Land Of The Twilight, Under The Moon.
Lets see there are 6 .hack music CD's:
.hack//Sign OST1
.hack//Sign OST2
.hack//Liminality OST Plus
.hack//Extra Soundtracks
.hack//Legend of Twilight
.hack//Game Music Collection
The only one I don't have is the game music collection. Hmmm... I forgot about that one. I will have to see about getting it now.

Yay! Another .hack fan! Which game volumes do you have so far? They're getting scarce, aren't they? I was lucky enough just to find vol.1! And as for the TCG, I looked at the "starter" deck lists of CONTAGION and saw that it was the only way to get the main character PC cards without depending on chance if I were to buy the boosters. Say, do you happen to have the .hack//ENEMY: GIFT set?
Quote from: MordyanYes, the music is awesome. I got all the music CDs from the series. Yuki Kajiura is fantasic. Though I have to say I like the the music from .hack//SIGN more than the .hack//Legend of the Twilight.
Say, I'm sure you've seen Yuki Kajiura's Fiction CD, ne? If you've heard it all the way through, do you think it'd be a good addition to the .hack CD library? (though I'm guessing it wouldn't
really count as a .hack CD)(on a similar side note: do you know of any Yoko Kanno CD released in the US? See, Fiction is not "based" on just one anime.)
I've seen quite a few copies of the game music at the Great Mall's Media Play. $13.99 each and they can be found in the Soundtracks section under Anime(begining of section). I haven't gotten one myself yet, so if you all decide to buy one, save one for me! ^_^;; And I was more hoping to get OST 1 with that vol.1 Limited Edition box thing, so I still haven't gotten #1 yet, either.
Question: Which issue of NTUSA do the character designs of either .hack series(SIGN or DUSK) appear in? I want to base my possible "cosplay" costume on them. Thanks for any info.

:D If you look on the bbs on the official .hack//ENEMY site, I'm an avid player. My sn is "Atma_Wpn" over there. My husband on the bbs is "Jehuty", so stop on by for cards and such. ^_^ We have the GIFT promos too.
As far as anime-wise, my husband and I don't have alot of the series as we only have the first volume of .hack//DUSK.
-walks in- Hello everyone.....hack is soo kool! lol :)
Rephrased Question: In what issue ANYWHERE can you find character designs for ANY .hack series/characters?
Ska_Kitti: Do you mean stop on by the .hack forums or do you and your husband own a store I can stop by at? ^_^ And I asked about the GIFT set, 'cuz I bought it a while ago, and I found some "extra" rare cards... a double of Sora's card and within one of the boosters, a holo/foil of A20! ...I wanted to ask anybody else who has bought a copy, what special cards they found in theirs.
Anime Freak: Well, hello there too. Something I always try to do is to read all past posts, so that discussion topics won't repeat themselves. ^_^ Always keep moving foward.
Stop by the .hack//ENEMY forum. My husband deals with trading and selling of .hack//Cards of the sort under the name Jehuty. That's be cool if we could own a store, lol.

I have seen the Fiction CD but have not heard it. I would buy just because I like her music stylings.
Any luck on finding the Limited edition box for #1? I got mine a couple months after they had sold out of them and paid like $90.00 and but I have seen it go for more than that.
I have a NTUSA issue with Black Rose on the cover. I will see which issue number it is. I don't remember for sure if it is the one with the character designs though.

In one of my web "surfings", I came across a site that had :30sec samples of all of Fiction's tracks. ...But after hearing them, I'm still indecisive.
YEAH!!! I found a site that still offers it! ...or so I hope. Most store sites I see don't describe their items well enough to know EXACTLY what it is. But with a price tag of $200 and a picture to go with it, it more than convinces me that LE vol.1 (w/STUFF!!) is still available.
I also have the Black Rose issue. Now I'm looking for the DUSK issue(Shugo and Rena). I've read issue contents for most NTUSA volumes, but nothing about char. designs for .hack so far. (i stopped at Jan 2005) But so far, the most useful/promising magazine i have CLOSE to a char. des. is one of Protoculture Addicts. ....hmm, I hope NTUSA has those designs in either Feb or March. Thanks for the info.
Ah, yes, I'm very fond of .hack. I haven't even touched the games as of yet, but I watched the entirety of .hack//sign and .hack//twilight bracelet... I thought twilight bracelet was kind of cute, and amusing, though I would've liked it if more of the chars from Sign had interacted with them/returned... All in all, though, I reallyreallyreally enjoyed .hack//sign and absolutely adore the music. I nearly died when Ramen and Rice were performing some of the songs from it last year. So gorgeous!
Hello all! Just wanted to stop by and post another neat link I found...
A fan has took it upon his/her-self to post the...
[*SPOILERS*: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!]
.hack//Another Birth translation (http://hyper.palgn.com.au)
Hope you like it. (I, myself, have not read it yet. Nor do I plan to. It would spoil me)
Later.
Hi guys! Long time no see/post!...
I check this thread every so often for any new posts and to visit the links that were posted... And a thought occured... has TokyoPop done anything new in the .hack book world? Look@this: .hack//AI Buster (http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?propertycode=HAC&categorycode=BNV)!!! Says it will be released this August for $7.99! Looks like the rumors were true! And if that was true, then what about ZERO?
Anyone's thoughts on this?
Wow, that looks really cool. I'll have to look into that the next time I stop be a Borders or BnN.
That is sweet! Now I have some more .hack goodness to look forward to! Thanks for the heads up. :D
Either/Or AI Buster or ZERO is only 2 volumes long. I guess the pricing suits the type of book it is... novel without the "graphic" part. ^_^
I have a question to any and all who care to answer:
I, for one, never knew that GN 1&2 were available in color. That is to say, the first few pages were printed in color. Through e-mails with TokyoPop, they said it was available, but only in the first printing of the volumes. Who here has those "color" volumes and how/where did you find them? I hope some still exist so as i can get my hands on them. *grr* how could i have missed them? >: \
Also: I've been looking everywhere for those cool .hack gashapon/capsule toys. I know there are 10 in total among two sets. Does anyone have an idea where I can find either volume/set. The first set has Black Rose, Elk, Gardenia, and the infected(orange) Kite <here (http://www3.famille.ne.jp/~hayato/images/sell_HG-hack-a.jpg)>. And the second set has Tsukasa, Subaru, Black Rose, Balmung, and Kite in two versions(normal=green, and infected=orange) <here (http://www.apecollection.com/FOTO/gashapon/bandaieuropa_hack2_tutte11.jpg)>. Again, I'm searching the all over the internet for them. I hope they'll show up at Fanime.
FYI: just sharing a pic to all: .hack//GAME cast pic (http://www.foren.de/system/user_YuChen.html)

oops... I'm sorry about that mistake. For a moment there it felt like the .hack saga hasn't finished its run yet.
gomen nasai
Ok its not .hack but it's related in a way.
If you are a fan of Yuki Kajiura who did the music for .hack//sign you can hear her on the new anime Tsubasa Chronicle ( http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=4591 ). She does the score for it and so far it sounds awesome. (FYI - someone else does the opening and closing themes)
Plus the anime company that is producing Tsubasa Chronicle is Bee Train ( http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=264 ) the same company that did .hack!
I just downled the first epsiode last night and there are currently 5 available subbed. I havent got to watch all of it yet but it looks cool. It is a CLAMP anime based on their manga by the same title. It uses existing character designs (Sakura and Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura as an example) from many different CLAMP series in an alternate universe setting.
Quote from: RyuHayabusathat was .hack//dusk...you can get that on DVD now.
I know where I messed up the translation: "yubiwa" isn't "bracelet"
Mordyan: Does producing Tsubasa mean Bee Train will be "drawing" the anime? ....Or what? I always confuse what producing means. ^^;; Does that mean the eyes will be drawn similar to .hack?
Quote from: ZJCitrusGraffitiMordyan: Does producing Tsubasa mean Bee Train will be "drawing" the anime? ....Or what? I always confuse what producing means. ^^;; Does that mean the eyes will be drawn similar to .hack?
I this case the production means that the same artists, techniques, and quality control are used. However the character designs are usually supplied by the original creator.
What this means in this case, is that the charcters are very much CLAMP characters. But you can see Bee Train in the background designs for sure and well as the production quality.
I am up to episode 6 now and I like it alot so far. Though some people on the AnimeSuki boards are un-happy with it when they compare it to the manga.
*dang* Finding them .hack//PS2 games are hard!!! >.< I soo love .hack in its entirety, that I don't know if I can call myself a fan if I don't have all its incarnations!!! First was the LE DVDs of .h//SIGN(missing #1), then was the GNs(am re-buying all 3, 'cuz I didn't know they all came out with colored "pin ups"), and at about the same time as the GNs were the PS2 games and the gashapon/capsule toys.... NOW I'm debating whether or not I should even consider the .h//DUSK anime since that's really not part of the .hack saga... or at least the manga has a difinitive ending. I'm at odds over that. This thread's reply one way or the other could get me to add even more .hack items onto my fanime wishlist. ^^;;
Special E3 site for dothack.com (http://www.dothack.com/flash.html)
It has something about a .hack//G.U. and the site will be offling on Friday. Sorry for the late notice. I first thought it was some spoiler for the PS2 games and I soo dislike spoilers. ^^;;; (the site's song is very pretty, btw. piano always is)
Unofficial Fansite: DotHackers.net (http://www.dothackers.net/)
I wish someone would have told me about this site sooner. Now it's posted for all to share. They even have that info about A.I. Buster sooner than I did here.
....hmm... and I feel as if I didn't get to say what I originally came here to say but got sidetracked and said all this instead. *feels absent-minded*
YAY!!! A new .hack game. Thanks for the info! :D Here is a press release announcing the game and when it is supposed to come out (2006):
http://www.gamingreport.com/article.php?sid=17116
I REMEMBER!!! It was to say that Decipher won't be making anymore .hack//ENEMY TCG cards anymore!!! I know that, for me, I usually won't begin buying a series unless I can see the "end", so for that main reason, I never began buying ENEMY in the first place, but now that I've heard that news, it makes me sad and makes me want to go out and find all the theme decks before they're gone for good. ...And probably clean out a card store of their supply of booster packs. XD Sorry for being the bringer of bad news.
Hmm, looks like the thread is dying...
I wanna ask all other .hack-fans if it would be "unfaithful" to the entire series if one didn't buy an incarnation of .hack?? Specifically, the .hack//DUSK anime. The anime doesn't really belong in the story/timeline of .hack. It's just an alternate story because the manga didn't come out that fast at the time. Opinions? Thoughts? (any are welcome)
And I've also got a question about .hack//SIGN... and it may be a ***SPOILER!!!***
[***POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD***]
Tsukasa in the real world, was a comatose girl, and Tsukasa in The World was having flashbacks of being (physically?) abused by who I assume was his/her (sorry, but SIGN has warped my itty-bitty mind and I still think of Tsukasa as a "guy" ) father/dad when s/he was younger. I hope I have all the facts straight first before I actually go onto my question, which is: Do you think that the reason why Tsukasa couldn't remember how he logged onto The World in the first place was because his/her father beat him/her up soo hard, the truama experienced by Tsukasa somehow made a seemless transition from being online(in The World) to being online/hooked up in a hospital room?? Or that s/he knew s/he WAS on a computer, but his/her father's hitting(if it was, indeed, physical abuse) had somehow caused amnesia and NOW couldn't remember where s/he is?? In any case, when the fact that Tsukasa was in a coma in real life was realized in The World, that only gave me another reason to make Bear a favorite character of mine.
Reason #1: "Oh, I am gentle, but not a pushover." - Bear, to BT
Reason #2: Bear offered to adopt Tsukasa.

AN ONLINE .HACK GAME!!!
OH EM GEE
We gotta play this. And I'm gunna request to start the official Crimson Knights Group
Aherm...
.HACK//GU

.Hack//FRAGMENT is the newest and hottest thing expected by all .Hack fans! Do check it out!
http://www.dothackers.net/fragment.php
I know I'm psyched about it. Are you? X3
OMFG!!
That is what we have all been waiting for... No?
Now we can all play and have coma inducing seizures as a result of some wayward AI...
um, guys...?? ^^;;; I had asked some questions in my previous two posts.... I feel like I'm being ignored... Answers please?
BTW: about .hack//G.U.
It takes place some seven years after .hack//DUSK, it's THREE GAMES LONG, and each disk is a STAND-ALONE story(unlike the first PS2 games, which was basically 1 big story on four disks). G.U. may or may not be for the PS2. (maybe PS3?)
Also, there MAY BE a con-current anime/manga in the works to be released when the games come out.
Hope this helps everyone.

Hey there, Loktera! You may not remember me from Fanime '05. I psuedo-helped you out with your nails at Pre-Reg. BTW: How well is your dad taking care of that Limited Edition Orange Scion, eh? (what a gorgeous car)

*er...possible spoilers. its just my opinion, but yea. just a warning*
the best response (which isnt even that good a response) i can give is: BLAME MORGANNA. i dont think getting abused would cause amnesia (unless, you know, you got kicked in the head several times and did some damage), but thats another topic. im pretty sure tsukasa's brain fart happened all "in-game" and whatever morganna did jacked her mind up and jacked it up good.

I don't think it wouldn't be "unfaithful" not to buy it. The .hack//Legends of the Twilight (.hack//DUSK) is a departure in tone from the first anime series .hack//SIGN and the companion anime to the video game... I can't think of the what its called of the top of my head.
I thought the Twilight series was more action oriented, with a lighter comedy tone to it, and with a heavy dose of fan service. It still has the underlying darkness of the other series and incorporates some interesting plot developements. I liked the Balmung character developement and story myself.
It's definitely a different from the rest. I bought it because it's still part of the ongoing story as it shows the continued evolution of the world (and Aura). I really didn't see it as an alternate story. It is simply something that happend 4 years later.
I like the series and the music was great. I have all 4 games, most of them if not all i got used. Really hard to find after a certain point.

I bought the .hack//AI Buster novel today and I'm really liking it so far. It is a good setup for the games and anime series. Are you guys excited for .Hack//G.U.I? :D

Very much excited. I am a big fan of the games and the new series looks sweet. The fact the the first game alone will be over 80 hours (which is more than the first four games combined) is a major plus. The character designs look great. The dothackers website has lots of info on the game so far. http://www.dothackers.net/gu.php
I am also hoping that they will release .hack//fragment in the US but I hear that it's still undecided.
I have the read the first .hack//AI buster novel and need to get the second one. I wonder if it is out yet?

Yep, I'm giddy myself! I can't wait for G.U. and Fragment... Tho, I must say, I'm confused as to what Fragment is. I mean, I
KNOW Fragment was supposed to be the beta version of "The World", but does that mean the real-life company who is behind everything .hack is trying to stick to their own made-up timeline? (thus, probably having the AI Buster cast, Balmung and Orca included) Or is this a brand new Fragment that will take place after/around G.U.?? In any case, I already love it all.
I've been comparing book spines of AI BUSTER, and so far, 'cuz of bad/torn spines, haven't bought AI v.1 yet. ....Yup, you read that right: "havent bought [it] yet." For a sec, I thougth AI Buster was gonna be only a one-shot manga. The news of a volume 2 surprised me. ....Now, if only .hack//ZERO were to be released.
On another note:
I'm looking for another .hack thread... a certain post to be precise. All I have to go by are the site and username related to it. I actually linked to it on a previous post of mine in THIS thread. But, through time, either the thread/post has been taken off, or new restrictions have been placed so that non-paid subscribers can't better find what one is looking for.

This is to find a link that his/her post that goes to a "real life" Tsukasa and Subaru picture, where Tsukasa is passed out on Subaru. Really beautiful if had the chance to see it before the link/post dissapeared. (I
KNEW I should have save that pic when I had the chance!)
Oh! And one more thing! Has anybody here bought that .hack//Twilight manga box set from TokyoPop? I wanted to ask if each volume in that box set came with the special colored pages at the begining of each book. Do they? I may just have to resort to secretly opening a box at any book store to get my answer.
Please, any help is appreciated.

BTW: I'm still looking for a pic that has the real-life Tsukasa passed out on the lap of the real-life Subaru. I saw it in one of IGN's BBS', but now I don't have access to them. If someone knows what I'm talking about could they post a link to that pic here? Thanks in advance.

What I meant was the volume 1-3 box set. I've seen what Tokyo Pop has done to the volumes the first time they came out... And I'm none too happy about them. Tell me, Emerge, do your volumes 1 & 2 come with that annoying red TP logo on the top of the spine? If not, then you're lucky. If NO RED logo, then you have COLOR pages! But if WITH RED logo, then you have
BLACK & WHITE pages!... Which sucks, 'cuz only volume 3 is the exception to that rule. I hate it when the spines of a manga series aren't consistent throughout printing!! *grr* On top of that, I e-mailed TokyoPop about volume 1 & 2 not having color pics, and they said that they do.. all "first printing" volumes do... So I checked my two volumes, and they too said "first printing" but didn't have the color pages. I was peeved. ....Now you may consider this next part of the argument dumb, but it bugs me. It appears that TP may have published volumes 1 & 2 a total of FOUR TIMES!!! (AND STILL DIDN'T GET IT RIGHT... in terms of spine consistency!) Look here at this list and tell me which do you have:
1st printing: Glossy finish on covers w/COLOR w/o Red logo
2nd printing: Matte finish on covers w/COLOR w/o Red logo
3rd printing: Glossy finish on covers w/o COLOR w/Red logo
4th printing:
box set glossy finish w/o(??) COLOR w/Red logo
I almost had a mind to buy the japanese manga versions just for the color pics... but i'm not sure of even THAT being true. ::sigh::

Hi again!
In the post where I linked to some fan-art, it looks like the link was disabled somehow. In addition to "re-posting" that fan-art, I also found another one... And it just so happens to be the one that I've been looking for from that IGN bbs post. :D

Also, I've been on the look-out for any news on .hack//ZERO and aside from volume 1 being un-popular enough in japan(in which case, the probable 2nd and 3rd volumes for it WON'T come out), I found two other .hack threads having info about volume 1
The first has links to scans of volume 1.

Beware of SPOILERS... You have been warned!
whee!!! thanky! ive been wondering about zero for a while now. matter of fact, ive been neglecting .hack for a while now. i got my friend into it and she is confused as fudge. some of the questions i know i could have answered in my .hack prime but now im clueless. hehe, gotta get back into this so my mind will be prepared for whatever the new game series can throw at me!!!
OHMYFRICKIN'GOODNESS!!!! You'll never guess what I did/saw!
Yesterday, I went and bought .hack//AI BUSTER 2... It felt like an impulse buy, (but it's not like I don't know what .hack is) and already I want to return it because there's an obvious misspelling ON THE COVER! It says "Rei Id[/i][/u]umi"!!! HOW CAN TOKYOPOP LET THAT SLIP BY!?! (i didn't e-mail them, but prolly i should) :? :( :x What do you guys say? Should I return it now and HOPE Tokyopop will re-release it without the typo?
On the note of AI BUSTER, when I first heard about it(very similar to how much I know about ZERO now), I never thought anybody would liscense it. Look at it now. I also didn't know it was more than one volume long. Maybe it became two volumes when the Japanese .hack//people heard it was picking up in popularity here. (I don't know.) I also never thought .hack//Another Birth would get liscenses either, and now we know it's 4 volumes long. Since I am having the SAME feelings about ZERO, maybe I'll be proven wrong later on down the road. Let's hope so. (BTW: I've been reading that maybe ZERO was supposed to be 3 volumes long, but stoped at 1; If the Japanese .hack//people stoped(once again) because it's wasn't that big in Japan, I hope they start/finish it if/when some US liscensor buys the rights)
Updating the 'official' order of each .hack installment:

----- Manga -----
I read that there will be a .hack//G.U. manga, but I've forgotten the sub-name at the moment.
.Hack//ROOTS. D:
Anyone heard or expecting this? :D
um... yes... I placed .hack//ROOTS in my updated timeline right above yours. I don't know how many years it takes place after .hack//DUSK(anime), but it IS a prequel to the .hack//G.U. PS2 games. Check above...
Ok .hack//ROOTS is looks good so far. It harkens back to the first seriers in tone but moves a little faster.
Unfortunately I am having trouble playing MKV files, so I have only seen the first episode (the only one that there is an AVI of). I get sound only and no video. I have loaded the latest Matroska codec and am at a loss...
You too, eh? Same here... I dislike when files start appearing in a new program/extention... means I have to d/l a new program... and my mom is getting REALLY annoyed by my random files and HD space usage. So I haven't d/l-ed metroska yet -_-; I'm also d/l-ing the AVI file... have yet to see it, tho. *grr* why, WHY have the "format" changed!?
Quote.hack//DUSK (Legend of the Twilight Bracelet; epi 1-12)
Theres actually a 13th episode to .hack//DUSK. The episode name is "Lets meet offline." The animation is very limited but its still fun to watch. Oh, and you learn something very interesting about Hotaru.
Quote from: TetsunaiTheres actually a 13th episode to .hack//DUSK. The episode name is "Lets meet offline." The animation is very limited but its still fun to watch. Oh, and you learn something very interesting about Hotaru.
I actually have it d/l-ed... I watched it and now know Hotaru's secret. :) The entire thing looked kinda funny with faces in bubbles floating around, but when I told myself that it originally didn't come with any visual(just audio), the fan(s) who did the video did a pretty good job.
I'm also re-d/l-ing .hack//ROOTS episode 1 and then 2 & 3... Can't wait to see them!
BTW: I wanted to post here all the typos I found in TokyoPop's translation of the .hack novels and what I changed them to(with the help of whiteout):
Clarification of Classes/Professions:
Long Arm = long poles with either a knife or axe on (both?) ends
Twin Blade = two small daggers/knives on each hand
Heavy Axe(man) = carries an axe(duh)
Heavy Blade = huge two-handed sword
Blademaster = one-handed sword
Wavemaster = staff-wielding magic user; both OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE vers. exist
- Male and Female versions of each profession exist.
Q.1) Is it agreed that "
Pole Arm" and "Twin
User" are incorrect terms?
Q.2) Are "Blademaster" and "Wavemaster" one word or two?
Q.3) Should the professions be capitalized?
Morga
nna has two "N's", right?
v1p70) "You're [at an] insanely high-level, aren't you?"; Words in brackets make the sentence more coherent
v1p53/81) the idea that you CAN'T enter someone's hideout/house without FIRST exchanging member addresses. But if that's the case, then how did Orca and Balmung get into Albireo's home if they DIDN'T exchange member addresses. Unless, Al temporarily gave them his mem.add. just for the discussion they had and then once done, all three agreed to delete each others info(mem.add.) afterwards. Because really, this exchanging of mem.add. and joining parties is a two-step process:
1- exchange mem.add.
2- ask to join parties
...but Albireo specifically said that he didn't want to do step one!!! Please can someone explain.
Although AI Buster comes first in the .hack timeline, .hack//SIGN came out first commercially and so, I guess, we'd all become used to calling it [Delta] Hidden, Forbidden, HOLY GROUND(not "Sacred"); But don't they basically mean the same thing? Nevertheless, I prefer Holy Ground. (FYI: keep it in mind if and when .hack//ZERO comes out, 'kay?)
"W.B. Yeats" is the name of real-life poet whereas "W.B. Yates"
COULD BE an intentional misspelling of the name. Hokuto knew better, but she probably misspelled it to better maintain her "n00bie" personality in "The World"... Correct me if I'm wrong.
it's "Emma W
ielant", not "Emma W
eilant"
v2p90) they were 4
Long Arms, not 4
Heavy Axe(wo)menv2p38) "scan(s)lation"; depending on preference, w/or w/o middle "S"
v2 story3) So which is it: Rin or Lin?
v2p163) is Sanjuro a Heavy Blade? just asking.
v2p151) I've never heard of a "Knight" class. Could the "Mireille"(actually "Rena"/"Bridgit") be a Blademaster instead?
v2 story5) We know that "hotaru" means "firefly" in Japanese, but since Hotaru kept her name in both the manga and the anime, couldn't "Hotaru" be kept as the name in this case? Also, the "???" after Hotaru's name in the character introduction weren't necessary.
v2 character introductions) could the "likes/dislikes" section of each character be a little more coloquial rather than a literal translation?
I wonder if both AI Buster volumes will be re-printed with all typos fixed; but if it were to be re-printed, I don't think I'd buy them again. But then again, I'm just a volume-3 book away from having the Legend of the Twilight manga series TWICE!! (.hack makes me do strange things...) So maybe I will get both AI Buster books again.
Thanks for reading through my rants/nitpicking. Sorry if it makes anyone feel bad from pointing out the faults.
Q.1) Pole Arm and Twin User are probably direct translations from Japanese that have not undergone proper refining.
Q.2) They are two words.
Q.3) Nobody will criticize you if you don't capitalize them but its just more proper. (Then again, nobody in the world of online gaming capitalizes anything unless the whole sentence is in caps)
v1p70) Nobody uses brachets in MMO's.
v1p54/81) Houses are not instanced areas. In "The World" you can buy an actual house in root cities. Also, they never joined parties (in the book, Albeiro uses team chat to talk to Hokuto during his chat with Orca and Balmung) Oh, you can also give people your member address without having them give you theirs.
v2 story3) Translation is a very tricky business. The japanese language has no "L"'s by default so they use "R"'s instead. When translated to English, either can take root, depending on the translator's mood :D
v2p163) Sanjuro is a Heavyblade. You learn so from the .hack// video game series.
v2p151) Bridgit is a Blade Master. It is stated in the second .hack//AI Buster book on page 137.

Has anybody been watching .hack//ROOTS on Cartoon Network? It's on saturday mornings at 5am!!! Episode #3 is tomorrow. AnimeonDVD.com had a poll asking (members only, it's over now) which character they prefer to be on the t-shirt that WILL be in the Limited Edition DVD #1 w/box (t-shirt, soundtrack, manga?) just like the first .hack//SIGN DVD volume.
wow...talk about a necro... :D
anyway...i didnt know it was on cartoon network. i remember i was trying to dl a fansub and it got licensed like a few episodes in so they didnt get to finish it. i might check this out. BIG "might"; i love sleep so im pretty much dead to the world at 5 A.M. :?
yep. i d/l-ed i think up to epi 7 and then it got licensed. which is good, 'cuz ROOTS weren't avi files anymore. :/ i wish i could have voted for that t-shirt design.(oh well) and i program my vcr to record ROOTS(yet still in the dark ages when it comes to DVDs... i still use tapes to record), but i think there are things called DVD-R players and recorders. i'm not that sure.
Hrm. Anyone buying this?
"buying" what? Into the concept of .hack? Or do you mean "buying" the .hack//ROOTS anime season when it comes out on DVD? ...the answer is 'yes' on my part.
Have you guys played .hack//GU yet? I bet you have. I just love the addition of the Rengeki system! I just how you can't use [person] at the end of the game. I knew i should've leveled up [person]. The attack system is more polished and refined than the old school .hack. MAN< I got soooo addicted to this game when I first turned it on and picked up the controller. I just can't wait to get the second volume! I also hope that the 2nd volume comes in a special edition.
Yeah, i got GU on the day it came out. The battle systems alot nicer than the previous .hacks. Unfortunately I beat GU too quickly so I haven't had much else to play these last few weeks >< Also, the arena gets waaaaaaay too easy after you beat the game. I'm only level 49 and I can take out the lvl 50 teams no problem >< I'd have to not do anything for about 10 minutes before they get me down to half health....
I know what you mean. The arena is way to easy after you beat the game. And the story driven arena fight with Alkaid (who happens to be my favorite character for some reason), I would have won that without the avatar, but according to the game, I was "no match". That was retarded, I just needed to do a little more to beat her too. She barely took down any of my health and I destroyed her partners.
I guess I like Alkaid because she reminds of Soi Fong off of Bleach.
