AH! you found it. Good. I was looking for it but gave up ._.

Don't beat yourself up too much. At least you tried...
JUST TRY HARDER NEXT TIME!
Ok I am just kidding. But at least people who haven't posted before can post their first anime still.
Escaflowne. I watched it as a kid, but I don't remember it too well. I only remember watching it.
The foirst aniem I remember was the episode of pokemon where ash finds a snorlax blocking the river.
Then the first animes I bought was the first DVD for the series Dual, and the original Vampire Hunter D.
^_^ Sailor Moon. I'm still a big fan today. However since I was it on UPN, it doesn't count bc they edit out alot. Aside from that show, my first Tenchi I think. It's been so long that I don't remember.
The first anime I bought was Ninja Scroll. ^_^
well, the first anime I watched was DBZ, but that was just whenever I caught it on tv, the first anime I sat through and watched all of was Neon Genesis Evangelion. Strange stuff for a first timer, but good!
well my first anime was sailor moon. then i started to talk to my friend cassy she told me about Ranma 1/2 i loved it then i started to watch alot more went back to sailor moon to just look at my old videos wow (that is some poor anime) compaird to Ranma inuyasha yu yu hakusho trigun case closed fullmetal alchemist and more. well i still like it because it was my first  8)
My first ever anime was either sailor moon, or sonic the hedgehog (the original series they aired, and the comic)
...I"m not sure which cause I was very young, but yeah, its one of those!
I guess it would've been Sailor Moon, cause I watched that sometimes when I was a kid. But I count DragonBall Z and Tenchi as my real firsts because thats when I was actually getting into it.
Quote from: CroquetI guess it would've been Sailor Moon, cause I watched that sometimes when I was a kid. But I count DragonBall Z and Tenchi as my real firsts because thats when I was actually getting into it.
ya i agree sailor moon was #1 but tenchi and dbz tho DBZ GT is not very good now ^_^
Yeah, I know, DBZ was alright, but GT is just plain WACK! I mean goku is a little kid running around with his grand daughter who's the same age as him?! It's too crazy for me!!! And Trunks in that outfit? Blah! And and and!!! Well, I could go on forever, but I won't....
ya i got so confused about goku being little but his kid were there and sayen 4 i am soo lost lol -_-
Doraemon, Anpanman and Ninja Hatorikun
Robotech,Transformers, and Voltron.
Before I knew what anime was:
Robotech, Voltron, and reruns of Speedracer
When I learned about anime:
Ninja Scroll, Record of Lodoss War, Tenchi Muyo, Dragonball Z
ohhh Yeah, I forgot about Speedracer, I use to watch that too back in the days
Yeah, speedracer rocks! The funny thing is now that I am reminded about old school anime. My mom liked anime before she knew it was anime too. She was a huge fan of Astro Boy when she was a kid. She doesn't really watch anime but she says she really respects it and that she loves the Miyazaki movies.
Ronin Warriors, Dragonball, Robot Carnival, Gunsmith Cats.
I STILL love Robot Carnival.
My first anime was Captain Tsubasa, followed very closely by Macross/Robotech. And those were followed closely by Saint Seiya.
well i don't remember my FIRST first but i think sailor moon. i sort of like card captor sakura. i used to LOVE pokemon ( i was pikachu for Holloween one year.....heh) anyway.. um i used to watch dragon ball with my nephew. the first dvd's i bought were.. inu yasha or love hina? maybe nieh under 7? wow now i am really confused...
and that is what i can remember right now.
the first I remember were Doraemon, Pa-Man, and the original Gundam. The first in the US was definitely Star Blazers, Voltron, and Robotech.
man...my firsts were DBZ & Sailor Moon lol seems to be the firsts of a lot
SAMURAI PIZZA CATS! *starts to dance like a idiot to the theme song* ahahahahahahahaahahahaha!!!! *@%(#%*^#$%)@%@!!!!!!!!
wha? o yeah i didn't know what it was at the time but it was my first anime. and what got my into it later was like CCS, pokemon, digimon and what did me in for good.....cowboy bebop! *sigh*
Dragon ballz, speed racer, and of course and im a shame to admit it poke'mon(damn that little yellow rat and its series that just wont die....)
Quote from: Monkey D. Luffy_2004Dragon ballz, speed racer, and of course and im a shame to admit it poke'mon(damn that little yellow rat and its series that just wont die....)
true, pokemon was what got it started, not my first anime but it got it all started. i wonder why it is so addictive? and actually i dont like the new shows. to many pokemon. i like the original 151 and the 3 main ppl.
Robotech, Sailor Moon, and Samurai Pizza Cats!!
Giant Robots!! Pretty Sailors!! & Kick-butt Cats in Giant Robots!!! :D
Sailor Moon...yes the dic dub
First anime huh? Mine were Mega Man, Darkstalkers, Urusei Yatsura, and then Tenchi Muyo.
The other two used to be on KTEH's sci-fi night in 1993 before they cancelled it. Man, those were good times :D .
Captain Harlock, baby! Only it was in spanish and I don't understand spanish, but I remember just *watching* it because Harlock was so ~pretty~
o_o I remember watching Sailor Moon when I was 4. xD I was really like addicted to it, lmao. Then it was Pokemon, Ranma, Cardcaptor.. and so on..
Quote from: Masatothe first I remember were Doraemon, Pa-Man, and the original Gundam. The first in the US was definitely Star Blazers, Voltron, and Robotech.
My older brother got me into Star Blazers.
Minky Momo was my first! ^^ I was like 3 years old, hahaha XDD oh and then Samurai Pizza Cats and Doraemon!!!! ^^-
rainbow brite and thunder cats, i was 5 years old and YES they are anime. But how about Mermaid's Scar and ranma, then sailor moon.
With Ranma my brother came home one day, parked me in front of the VCR and po-ped that tape in- i had never SEEN anything like that before. He loved it more then i did, but it was really funny.
naruto and bleach, and rave and mai hime, and dbz!um thats all i kno and watch...but naruto and dbz made me understand how a anime from japanese is made...
I used to ditch high school to watch Samurai Pizza Cats.
That and get stoned. Good times.
Aside from RoboTech and voltron. I remember Unico. and then there's Jack and the Beanstalk.
The first real one that I watched was Cowboy Bebop.
First anime that I didn't know was anime: Samurai Pizza Cats
First anime that I knew was anime: Dragon Ball Z
First un-americanized anime I actually went out and got: Perfect Blue
First anime ever for me was "Robot carnival" Caught it when I was 12 on pbs late night.
My first Anime I watched was a cheap-ass poorly dubbed musical type-thing called Serendipity that's when I was a weee little 'taku. It wasn't until I was 13 when I started watching Tenchi Muyo! and Urusei Yatsura on PBS. After my interest became piqued a friend of mine helped me start an Anime club in middle school... The rest, is history.
hm...my first anime i ever watched would either be Sailor Moon or Pokemon xD
ranma 1/2 was my first as far back as i can remember
I first saw Sailor moon and Pokemon. (>.< LOL) And I first bought Rurouni Kenshin, I didn't really truly get into anime until I saw Rurouni kenshin x.x';
Pokémon. I still love that show, somehow, you can never hate your first anime, regardless of how bad it gets. ^_^
Sailor Moon, followed by Dragon Ball Z. Now, I look back and find it hard to believe that I was ever into DBZ.
My first anime was Project A-ko. I was pretty young so I don't really remember all or any of it. I thought it was awesome! And thats how I got hooked on anime. Then Tenchi came into my life, now thats when I was totally hooked on anime!!!!!!!!!!!
Dragonball,excel saga,Akira
My Neighbor Totoro(yay for Miyazaki films), then Sailor Moon, Megaman, Pokemon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Ranma 1/2.
Yep... Good old memories.
for me it was ranma 1/2 :3 i was introduced to it at the tender age or 7 or was it 8 xD later on it was Key the metal idol, Sailor moon, pokemon, and card captor sakura <3
ah the good ol days :3
Stuff on Nick Jr.
Like Mya the bee and The little bits.
I also watched The Flying house when i was younger too~
Kiki's Delivery Service!
Pokémon.
Damn, I'm hardcore.
I didn't realize it until tonight, but my first anime was Unico or something to that effect. Story of a unicorn who could detatch his horn. KA-REEPY. I remember liking it when I was VERY little, in fact it was great when I was about 4.
Then came Pokémon. I was sorta curious as to what it was, and being a 1337 '73nd0 fan, I checked it out. And I was enveloped in it.
After that, I read a magazine that ran through a list of random Animes. I thought I knew what they were talking about, I'd found out what Anime was by researching Pokémon on the inter-web-basket-net, so I was acquainted with Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Gundam series... the usual stuff.
They had an article on Ranma ½. I was disgusted.
I was also fascinated.
So, after my brother and I got into Gundam (he's since become popular and has no need for such... fool), I decided to not be ignorant, and researchi the series. This research lasted a good three years...
...and I remain a hardcore enthusiast to this day. I don't OWN much anime/manga, but I do enjoy it.
Recap:
Unico (Birth-1995)
Pokémon
(Magazine, R½)
Gundam Wing
Ranma ½
first animation ever: Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke, VHS, dubbed (I was about 12, with no japanese experience) yeah late bloomer I was
first series: Pokemon, in english on WB20 (yeah around that same age, got into the game craze, naturally I couldnt help but watch the show, too)
first animation, not dubbed: Escaflowne (not the series) I was in highschool already, freshman year, anime club! oh yeah
never got into dragon ball Z, gundam wing, sailor moon (for some reason I hated the theme song, can't imagine why), stuff that was really hot at the time I was in jr. high, but I occasionally caught them on Toonami's Rising Sun program (a la Cartoon Network)
(ugh took me three months to download all of love hina on kazaa over 56kbps, this was back before bittorrent and when dsl was new)
In the States it was probably the English cut of either "Speed Racer" or "Star Blazers". My parents and older brother used to tell me I watched "Voltes V" back when we used to live in the Philippines but that was when I was at most 4 years old. I don't remember much of what happened back then. I have a pic of me wearing a "Voltes V" t-shirt doing some sort of pose, so I guess that bit was true.
Flight of Dragons
The Last Unicorn
Macross
Mach 5
and some adult thing that my teen brother had at the time.
Flight of Dragons rocks! I loved that one.
Anyways, my first was probably sailor moon. Caught it on channel 44 every once in a a while. Then I switched over to Toonami and watched DBZ and Gundam wing and others. Went back and watched some other classics like Kimba and speed racer, then I was able to afford my own, so I started my collection. ^_^
Sailor Moon. Ive watched it when I was 4 and I was addicted to anime after Pokemon came out when I was 8. Im 16 now and I still <3 Sailor Moon.
Definitely Sailor Moon. Then Pokemon. And then my very first ever non-Americanized Anime was Cowboy Bebop.
Actually... Now that I think about it, I watched Little Nemo a lot when I was really young
first one for me was sailor moon, but i dont count that one. the one i "truly" credit as my first anime was Tenchi Muyo back in the day when it was being aired on KTEH :D :D
I can't remember if the first one I watched was Teknoman (Tekkaman) or Robotech (Southern Cross arc). Then promptly moved on to Gundam, Escaflowne, El Hazard, ect...Ah, memories...
When I was little, it was Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets & Starblazers. That was the SH&t. All the other cartoons like Superfriends were a bunch of wussies. (lol) :D :D I used to walk to school with a friend and all we could talk about was Battle of The Planets.
Take care
I can't remember if I've said anything here, so I'll do it again otherwise. ^^;;;
Back in the day... My Neighbor Totoro, Sailor Moon, and Tenchi Muyo.
I would always watch Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon as a kid. Ah good memories. Makes me yearn for the day when Toonami showed Thundercats and Voltron
Sailor Moon. Maybe when I was 4 and it was on at 4:00 on Cartoon Network's Toonami...oh the good old times...
Then Pokemon when I was in Kindergarden and my future best friend whispered to me "Do you know Pokemon?" and she lent me some videos. *w*
I think I watched Kiki's Delivery Service when I was around...10, when it premiered on the Disney Channel.
My first anime (aside from occasional episodes of speed racer, g-force etc.) was Vampire Hunter D when I was around 7 or 8. Good times.
I don't remember what my first anime was i think Sailor Moon because i always used to watch when i came home from daycare, but there was another show before that one grrrr why can't i remember
Quote from: otakuapprenticefirst one for me was sailor moon, but i dont count that one. the one i "truly" credit as my first anime was Tenchi Muyo back in the day when it was being aired on KTEH :D :D
sailor moon!!!
It was Robotech: The Macross Saga. I remember the moment quite vividly. Quite frankly I had no clue what I was watching, but it was the very emotional episode where they were trapped in the SDF-1 at the start of the series. And I had never seen something like that, so it had me hooked.
trigun
First anime ever watched was either... Totoro or Doraemon, when I was really really young. XD; Ara... First anime watched on television was when America aired Sailor Moon at UPN. First anime downloaded was Fushigi Yuugi back in elementary school or something. 5th grade, I think. x.x; *Loser* T.T;
Dark stalkers...O_o? I don't remember the title...yet I know all the characters... ^-^' heh
besides sailor moon and dragon ball...
my first was neon genesis evangelion.... on second thought.. maybe it was tenchi muyo.
My first anime was Voltron, but the first DVDs i bought were Hellsing.
And by the way, I know it isn't related to this post so please no one get too angry at me, does anyone know when the Hellsing OVA is coming out?I had heard it was coming out but i dont know when.
Thanks
Well, I watched Digimon and Pokemon as an elementary/middle-schooler, but the first anime I watched in Japanese was Slayers on the International Channel. <3 Still one of my favorite ever.
probably pa-man, obake no yuutaro, pro golfer saru, doraemon and ninja hattori-kun back in like 84-85. All the child favorites. Fujiko Fujio ftw.
I always thought (Bishoujo Senshi) Sailormoon was my first anime, but I found out a while ago that it was actually Littl' Bits and Maya the Bee (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=8820), haha^0^

I'd say dragon ball and sailor moon wouldn't count, but pokemon and thundercats were my first, and then I moved on to all the gundam series, and got hooked on those for a few years, then there were less popular ones, and then cowboy bebop, and then just random anime movies that I probably should have watched the series to watch but were still awsome, like Mapleseed, and the like.
I'd say Pokemon stuck with me the most though ^_^
Haha, I can make it official now!
