Still asking questions. Why? Because I feel like it. :?
Off anime that you have watched, which anime was the most disturbing anime? In this case, Hentai is not allowed because.....I dunno. I never watched anime.
-Anime pre-wrapped in plastic doesn't count.
Eh. It might not be shocking anymore, but I remember when End of Evangelion was first fansubbed and Asuka's battle with the White Eva's was morbid and yet sooooo awesome.
I have alot of my "WTF List", but the two that are up there are Grave of the Fireflies and NGE. FMA was a little disturbing in the first few episodes.
:P If I'll be bold to enter a hentai choice.... Bible Black. *ahem* Enough said. o.0
The Rockman Anime. That disturbed me.
-Well, all game oriented animations were disturbing to me.
Grappler Baki had a few scenes that made me cringe. The one fighter that pulled out peoples arteries with two fingers. Ugh..
There was one called genocyber I think... fist of the north star, maybe...
End of Eva would have been disturbing to me, but I "got" it enough to be lighthearted about it.

Genocyber was rather disturbing. 0_0
If you also wanna count manga then I'd say Uzumaki.
Elfen Lied, no contest. It's a very dark story. I highly reccomend it if you can withstand the drama and the little bits of comedy that happens, but it's mostly dark.

I totally agree with that, even though Elfen Lied is one of my favorites.
Perfect Blue. As intense as this movie is thruout, there's that point about ten minutes before the end where you are watching it, and then say..."OH S@#!" (not givin' it away for those that have not seen it!)

:D He actually snapped the nerve cord so Baki couldn't use his arm and blinded him the same way. *sage nod* That's still a bit disturbing.

In a **good** way, of course. :D I also have Ito's GYO, a horror story that starts off with the mysterious insect-legged "walking fish", and his manga Tomie, featuring the beautiful who's one part need, one part You So Do Not Mess Around With This Person.

Yeah I've always been a fan of Ito's works and some of his stuff is very disturbing but I will have to agree with Ryu and Sasquatch and go with Elfen Lied...man that one made me actually cringe at an anime for the first time.
Baki's fight with the cord splitter guy is also on my list cuz of the sounds they used for the ripping of the nerves...ugh.
hey, tomie is not disturbing! ^^ (well, i guess it is.. but i went as her for halloween! i love tomie! ^^) but the two most distrubing animes i would have to say are excel saga (last episode.. enough said...) and azumanga daioh.
Boogiepop Phantom. Man, as much as I love that show, some of the episodes were just fuggin' FREAKY!

I agree too, I've only seen 5 or 6 Eps of Elfen Lied, and it's awesome anime to watch, there some comedy in there, the drama is awesome it gets all crazy, I still need to finish watching it, so yeah I would reccomend watching it.
Perfect Blue..... specially the knife into the eye scene.
Uhm.. Soul Taker (AWESOME.. but originally confusing. I had to watch it a second time to understand it.)
Or I Wanna Be An Angel.
I watched this about 5 years ago? And watching the first episode gave me enough of a 'wtf? I'm scared' that I stopped downloading random animes for a very... long.. time. @-@
I did not quite like having to sit through parts of the second season of Fushigi Yuugi where the Seiryu Seven attempted to rape Miaka. :?

I put in a vote for Akira, provided that the viewer is delirious while watching it. I once made the mistake of watching Akira after staying up for more than 24 hours, when I was completely and utterly hallucinating. Scariest thing I've ever seen in my life. I had nightmares for months. Interestingly enough, a few of my friends have also experienced Akira under an altered mental state (one other randomly hallucinating, one drunk, and one stoned) and all four of us experienced nightmares for a significant time afterwards.
Narutaru, Elfen Lied,
If you want disturbing/sick funny
Bo-Bobo Bobobo-bo
Crayon Shinchan
Ebichu
Oh right -- Cat Soup.
I haven't seen it but read comments. Anyone deciphered it?

Well, not quite what I'd call most disturbing, but the DVD case is (the sqwishy one with the blood and such in it).

Definately on my list. It was really disturbing in a lot of mental aspects like Evangelion.
And woowee, I'm finally back.

I think so!
Just so that evildubkid can poop his panties because of the ultra violence and service.
And then do a double header with This is my Master and Futakoi Alternative!
Hmmm, for me, it's probably Death Note. that's a manga, but it is so freaking weird. It's really suspenseful (sp?). Also sorta freaky the way "Kira" kills people without a second thought. Really makes you think though. If you're interested, you can get the scanlations online at www.deathnote.org .
Gantz, just because most of the things that happen are pretty true to our society, well at least Japan's. I HATED the ending compared to the manga though... man...how dissapointing.

I thought we are talking about anime? ;-)
Anywhoo since you brought up manga, I have to nominate The Last Man by Tatsuya Egawa who also did Golden Boy. Actually this has a lot of ultra violence and sex then Golden Boy.
Akira REALLY freaked me ou the first time i watched it... but now it's my favorite!
Perfect Blue or Darkness Blues. (It seems there's a curse on the word "Blue" for me...) Perfect Blue is something that had me continually wondering "Wait, where the Hell are we now?" and Darkness Blues just had me out-right going, "WTF???". Both hard movies to follow.
Elfen Lied.
even before i watched the anime, and my guy friend was describing it to me, i already felt pretty nauseated. still one of my favorite animes though.

I might have to change my vote. On Sunday I saw the AMV that used footage from Elfen Lied, and yeah, Pretty disturbing (but now I want to see the series).
I'm sorta surprised nobody has mentioned Speed Grapher.
Come on, you've gotta be disturbed by a villain who's a mutated dentist who "polishes" his enemies to death with Doc-Oc-style arms... with dental tools on the ends. Or at least at some of the other really disturbing stuff that goes on in that anime. But pretty good anyway.
Dokuro-chan and Elfen Lied are both givens, of course.
Some of the ones you guys already mentioned, others I've never even heard of. hmm.
Kite was good, but I did find it really disturbing.
I also found Evangelion disturbing...
Angel Sanctuary. It was good and entertaining, but...yeah.
Umm, I'll probably get flamed for this, but...
Hamtaro. *shudders*

For me it was Please Save My Earth. Don't know why but I found it disturbing.
Quote from: NyxyinLain didn't disturb anybody?
Lain just confused people.. In that aspect it was worse than Eva...
But I'd have to say that Speed Grapher was... Umm... Wow...
Now and Then, Here and There. OMG.
*brain.goes.dead*uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Bottle Fairy.
My brain and teeth still hurt...
Not disturbing, you say? You must have not watched very much of it.
There are thirteen episodes, too! Thirteen!!
