Title: Arcade Machines that you would like to play...
Post by: PassingTheBuck on February 19, 2006, 09:34:52 AM
Okay, here is what I'm looking for from this thread...

A list of arcade machines that you would like to play...

No abbreviations of arcade machine names.

The correct spelling of the arcade machine names.

Any additional hardware that is normally optional on the machine, like platforms, joy sticks, overhead displays and such.

I will be going to outsource the supplier of the machine this year and I would like a list of those machines.

No disrespecting of anyone else's suggestion for an arcade machine.

I will be monitoring this thread and I will eliminate any post that violates the rules.

This thread will close by May 1, 2006.

In that case, the above music games should come in their own dedicated cabinets by default.

Wangan Midnight - Maximum Tune 2 - Racer/Dedicab

Pump it Up: Zero Dance/Dedicab (even an Exceed 2 would do t.t)

Avoiding the obvious (See: DDR)-

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - Last year there were quite a few serious East Coast (New York) and Southern California 3rd Strike players and it was awesome. I'd love to see a repeat.

Pump It Up - Not picky about the version. Any recent version of Pump It Up would do as an alternate to DDR.

No disrespecting of anyone else's suggestion for an arcade machine.

Anything can happen. Just because it appears to very unlikely that there will be a Pop'n Music cabinet at Fanime if it's not PNM8, doesn't mean that it will be. This is the same reason why Tsubasa requested Samba de Amigo and [you and] I requested Taiko no Tatsujin.

This is a suggestion thread, nothing more.

Title: Update on the Games...
Post by: PassingTheBuck on March 09, 2006, 02:16:37 PM
Okay... Here's what happening, I've had a meeting with a vendor who will be sending us a list of arcade games that they will be providing to us.  However, I should point out that they are not thrilled with the concept of a tournment, because it seriously cuts into the machines generating money, which is one of the major reasons that they are there in the first place.

I have asked for 24 arcade type machines...

From what this thread has presented to me, if would seem that the vast majority of you want DDR's and shooter type games first, followed by a vareity of others.

Once I have the list from the Vendor, I will post what they are offering.  At that time we will make the final decision on which machines we are going to offer.

Until than as my generation would say... Peace or as I've been hearing it lately... Peace Out...

You should be sorry for disrespecting peoples' suggestions for "easy ass" shooters.  Didn't you read Craige's and Spirit's post about that?  But hey, if you find a SHMUP too easy why not challenge yourself and use a more difficult weapon selection?  Seeing you are an "extremely open minded" person like your myspace says, I'm sure you understand.

Man, it's unfortunate you guys have to be fighting over this.

As you guys know, the arcade section is pretty huge and I'm sure there will be enough to suit everyone and their gaming needs.

As for me, pretty much everything that I wanted has been suggested already :3 I can't wait to see this years' gaming selection!

although I would like to give some special attention to Paraparaparadise 2nd mix seeing as I haven't seen it in the past two years i've been at fanime.

Cite your sources now. This includes many casual players that walks up to the machine and goes "hm, this looks fun. lemme try."

You won't be able to, btw.

Quote from: deepbluevibeshey, didn't someone suggest DDR? that's too hard for me, i take that to offense, i think we should only have neon FM.

This statement also shoots down DDR, ITG, and PIU down. If you don't realize that, I suggest we quit arguing immediately, because this arguement is going to go in circles.

If that quote was intended as sarcasm, then it damn doesn't look like it.

this is not the purpose of the thread. it's rediculous. why dont you continue your argument through PMs? It will save space and it wont waste the time of readers who came to the thread to actually read about what people are looking for at the arcade.

not to mention, you guys dont want this thread locked, do you?
