Any club officers here? Or at least someone who KNOWS an officer? Why? Well because Andrew Hill's Anime Club are intrested in hooking up with other anime clubs 'round here. Get a closer-knit community of anime fans and stuff, you know ^^ And like when one club needs something, maybe another club can help :D So it's like one big fun party ^^
I am webmaster (and activities director for the 2006/07 school year) for the Mount Pleasant High School anime club (http://mpanime.snared.net/), but I'm not sure if I'm clear to approve affiliations.
Give me a moment to contact the club president, and I'll edit this post.
edit 1 Alternatively, I'm the president of the MP Music Game Club and can affiliate with you that way, if you wish.
I used to run Lincoln High anime club. I'll link the person who runs it now to this thread.
Haha, thanks you guys :D I didn't really think this'd turn out good since I don't even know any other officers or members of other clubs.
I can wait...I'm vice president for this following year, not yet, though, lol. It's just the officers are a tad eccentric, so we're planning ahead, hahah.
MP's President here. It sounds like a relatively good idea to affiliate with the other local clubs; we're all relatively close together anyway..
So, if you/yourpresident wanna talk to me, send me an email at
[email protected].
There's no more clubs that's wishing to be affiliated...! :cry:
We can have what I plan with just three clubs! It'd be lame! ><
I would love to, but ours is in Wastonville
Lemme guess, it's far...mm...I'm trying to see if we can still somehow incorporate clubs from afar, into this...
I graduated, but I used to be the president of GAO (Go and Anime Organization) at Santa Clara High. I still have a lot of members on the grouplist so yeah...

Knowing me, do you think it was? :wink:
As far as I know, it could've been there since the beginning of Santa Clara High AniClub's existence...
I actually founded and started the club, so yeah, intentional it was :).

...so, did you guys actually play Go, or was that just filler to achieve your dream of controlling a club named GAO? ;)
(p.s. My Music Game Club might change into a SOS-dan, since we've been deviating a bit e.g. JKH2. Alternatively, I've been thinking of making it into a Genshiken...)
At least you guys got an original name for your club, my club's stuck with Andrew Hill's Anime Club until we think of something, and we're all braindead. Chun, may I have the current president's contact information so I can infrom him/her of our plans? Santa Clara High's CLOSE right? (Curse me and my bad sense of direction, lol)
I too am jealous of Chun's club's name. My high school anime club was the Piedmont Hills High School Anime Club. So cut and dry. Oh, I was president too. But that was six years ago. XD;
We had Lincoln High Anime Club... I ran it for a year, two years ago. But it was a longstanding club even before I was there, so it wasn't like we got the chance to name it.
I'm not sure, but it might've been the first high school anime club in San Jose Unified... maybe?
Woww...everyone knows their club history....you guys want to know our club's history? This year was lame 'cause all officers has senior-itis. Year before was bascially the same...and the year before? It was cool...and that's just about the end of it. No clue when our club started or anything -_-;;;;
If you ever wanted to do an activity with all the San Jose High School anime clubs, you might want to see if you could get any help from the San Jose City Librarian who does anime and manga things. If you haven't met her (she attended Fanime2k5, I'm not sure if she was there this year), I can put you in touch. I don't know if your schools all have at least one teacher who's into anime or manga, but if not, at least in the Bay Area, most of libraries seem to have at least one teen/youth/young adult librarian who is.
Librarian? I haven't thought of that...can you give me her/his contact info? It seems like a great idea, I never talk to the librarians so I never know if they're into anime or not, I'll see if my friends know anyone.
Same goes for teachers, the club adviser just thinks anime's funny, but not really into it.
Wasnt there one of the Guest of Honors at '06 a librarian that was totally into anime/Japanese stuff? Gilas Portrias? Something like that? He's pretty popular around the Bay too
I have no clue...all I every do at Fanime is go to Dealer's Room and go watch some anime/asian movies in the Video Programming rooms, lol. That's all I ever come for :D
Who cares about high school!? How about some central Cali College anime clubs! I'm a member of the UC Santa Cruz "Slug Anime and Manga Association" (SAMA)
Anyone affiliated with Anime clubs at some other colleges (San Jose State, Stanford, Cabrillo, etc.)?
Thta's nice -_- But I'm in high school, and it'd be nice to get kids my age. I can't help it if I'm older -_-;;

Uh, yeah, that's pretty much the equivalent of hijacking a thread with "screw you, it's all about us"...-_-; The title of the thread says
calling all high school clubs for a
reason.
True...but I didn't wanna yell, might get kicked out of the forum for that, most forums forbid that kind of thing, so yeahhh...but we're also accepting middle schools too, even though it wasn't the plan, we still have Ocala Middle School hookin' up with us.

Fortunately for me, I usually
prefer to point out when people are out of line. It's the same as someone interrupting one's conversation in real life with a (albeit lightly) rude comment; same goes for the metaphor of fighting back.
True, hahah, I remember I got pissed on this one forum and started cussing, lol. I was thinking about the club competition thing, and like...I was thinking of doubling it as a potluck and stuff...have other contests seperate from the club compeition, and stuff. But to pull it off we need help from a bunch of schools and like money....-_-;;; Gonna have to fundraise like crazy to pull something like this off, hahah, the secretary's already started, she's trying to get some Jose Valdes Math Institute kids to sell candy to their classmates, hahaha.
Fundraising isn't terribly difficult. ^^; Costco is love.
I have an idea; perhaps I can test my Cosplay Capture the Flag event as an inter-school competition. I'll have to forward this to my president for review, but I'll let you know if it's affirmative.
Yes, we have discovered the wonderful world of Costco loonnnggg ago, lol, it happens when you're in a viet family, lol. We actually get most or fundraising stuff from Costco, lol. Our secretary's getting the fundraising candy tomorrow from Costo as a matter of fact, lol. Oooohh....for the whole club affiliation thing, we should have a thing for officers to trade off ideas! :D
Cosplay Capture the Flag? Sounds intresting, but that's 'cause I'm into sports, lol. Do you have to be in cosplay to participate? My club member's aren't really into cosplay, they're lazy I think, lol. Haven't seen a single cosplayer from our school, hahah.
:oops: Sorry about that, forgot to think before clicking submit...
I'll go start my own thread...
It's okay, mistakes happen
