Recently, the SJCC replaced their old sign (the neon yellow/black tiles. During FC06, it had a "construction under way" sign) with a new TV screen. According to the Merc, it's an HD screen! It's gonna turn on for the 1st time this weekend for the Grand Prix, showing live track racing feeds.
For sure, Fanime is gonna tap into this technology in some way... :P
if fanime staff use this, it will flipping rock. imagine not being able to get into the masq., and instead just be able to watch it on the big screen. awesome!
I wish! Nothing is free in this world of ours...
It would be cool if someone driving down the road next to the convention center all of a sudden sees anime clips playing. That would be a trip.
If we actually do use that...we should have someone like Traveling Valentine do a montage of Fanime stuff and plaster it onto the screen. >w<

Question, how much would it cost to use the sign?
It's in the "we can't afford it" range... :P
(IIRC, in the low thousands, or something...)
I saw the sign a week or so ago... Tis quite shiny... Shame it costs so much... That would be downright awesome just to flash small bits of Anime every now and then...
Yeah that WOULD be cool to use it at specific periods or intervals at time. Showing some of the best of anime. We can have a wide range from comedy to martial arts. Who knows, we might even attract more people to join us either that year or next.
I was eating at Arcadia when they started up the sign. It was quite amusing seeing a giant windows desktop with a guy clicking around display settings trying to figure it out.
all I gotta say is at night....that thing is "HELLA" bright...it lights up the block like its the 4th of july ^o^
I saw the sign this saturday, and I noticed some newer ones inside the convention center.
There were also alot more soda machines than last year. ^^
