so..yea..it's early but im thinking why not have a GGXX#R or Slash tournamnet for next years fanime. anyone up for it? im kinda itchin for some competition
i've been down for this ever since 2 years ago. i really wanna see this happen this year more than ever. i hope no technicalities happen like this year that prevents it from going down without a hitch. if it does happen, id prefer it on console with a B.Y.O.C option for those who have their preferences

cmon, people. i know some of you want this to happen just as much as we do; if not, more. i wanted this to happen SOOO badly last year. i started a topic, got more than 100 posts, and...well, if you've been paying attention you know what happened. that was the 2nd time that something happened to the potential for a GG tourney. if it happens this year, its gonna be a release, if you will, of tension that has been building up.
hopefully the third time's the charm and this year fanime and e-gaming can see a guilty gear tournament...and possibly many more to come
I'm still kinda disappointed that it didnt happen. If anyone is interesting in helping us host this or "otherwise", contact me. Its early to announce something, but we do keep an eye on suggestions.

Even so, I've discovered (I think I did, anyways) something that with Sol that'll make any match a piece of cake, so long as I land a single Gunflame.

i'm pretty sure its techable. im pretty sure you intend to do this from off the wall. if thats the case, it has to leave SOME window for teching. worst case scenario, there's always burst
Yeah, it is off the wall. And i've looked it over, and found that it's mostly useful against cleaning up scrubs. The one problem I have so far, is the fact that about 60% of my attacks get blocked. I need to figure out less predictable combos with Sol....
you could always just gun flame frc rush down
ie GF...frc if blocked either trip in to a combo or run up wild throw into an air combo (insert s, hs, sidewinder)
or just totally lock down with some of many sol's ridicoulous ground rushes gf frc rinse repeat
that would crack any turtle nice and good. but if you're going up against someone who uses iad's like no tomorrow, you should change it up a lil w/a sidewinder here and there if we're talking slash. otherwise, maybe a bandit bringer?

Its in consideration, again. I am hopeful it will make the final cut this time. What we need to know: what verison of GG do you really want? I have someone looking into it but its all I can say.
Slash is what competitive players are playing now. I'd recommend shooting for that. If the import PS2 version isn't available though, falling back on the domestic release of #Reload is probably the best bet.

i wholeheartedly agree with this. since slash is the latest in the series (excluding accent core), it'd probably be the best choice. and if i'm not mistaken, it only has a ps2 release

I know what Disgaea is, I've spent who knows how many hours playing it (and I don't even own it). I just havn't had a chance to play the second one yet...

Ah well, i've still got a few months left to practice.
If it's going to be Slash, I'm going to get screwed royally because my local arcade downgraded to XX which means that I haven't played it for a long time...but hey, I still have time to practice. I only have GGXX for PS2 to practice on unfortunatly... but I'd like to see some serious players up here in NorCal (although comp coming in from SoCal would probably destroy us). If I'm not playing, I can always watch I guess XD
My Ky game isn't that great.
There was one guy at the arcades that was pretty decent. He was probably the only guy there that could beat me, and we were going about 1:1.
Everyone else was rather bleh.
I didn't see STen there last year though, he's usually there to beat me when I'm drunk.

E-Gaming can be willing do this, IF:
1) We get a copy of a Guilty Gear game, preferably either the latest or popular one. We need to know ahead of time what version (esp on what console, to see if we can support this)
2) We can get assistance in running this (since we are not familiar with this game at all)
We can do sign-up setup and the what not, but without the two requirements, we can't do it. Other than prizes (being worked on, at least last I heard from my dept head), all it needs is approval honestly.

Well, it all depends on interest too...there's probably a lot of people here who'd want to but people who'd actually play is a different story. I'm hoping it gets approved because I'd like to play competively with someone other than the AI lol. For some reason, I thought it was a lot more complicated than what you said O_o;
Guilty Gear XX Slash (JP PS2) would be the prefered version of the game, as it is the latest one to come out for a home console

well i will see about getting New copy of XX reload cause it had a accident at fanime at fanime and i am not blaming anyone on it...things happen..even if XX reload on ps2 is not working anymore cause it got a major scratch on it so it does not work no more!

well we will have the newest verion of GG next year and we will see on a tornament next year to also!
