The popular anime series Jigoku Shoujo (sometimes referred to as "Hell Girl"), has spawned a live-action TV drama, which is set to begin airing in early November.

The main cast was also announced. Sayuri Iwata will star as Ai Enma, Kazuki Katou as Ren Ichimoku, Aya Sugimoto as Hone Onna, Hisahiro Ogura as Wanyuudou, Kazuhiko Nishimura as Hajime Shibata, and Saaya as Tsugumi Shibata.

I didn't really pick up Jigoku Shoujo after I saw the 4th episode after how monster-of-the-week it felt, but maybe this is reason enough to try to finish the series.

Just for reference, Sayuri Iwata as Ai.

When I first saw the title of the thread, I was like 'OMG GIMME'. X3

2nd season AND a live action series coming up? That's gotta be a win. <3

Yeah boyee, this probably will be worthwhile although Japan has been whoring live action flicks recently it seems.

Yess...... <3 I'm looking forward to both.
The live action seems like it'll be interesting. here's to hoping that they do a good job.

So many good series... XD

Now that it's released (along with its respective [IMO crappily typesetted] subs), let this topic become alive again!

I personally thought it was an awesome interpretation of the series, but I need to see more of the anime before I speak more of my observations. I'll just say that the 'hellish' part lacks. :(

Sayuri Iwata looks awesome cute ^^;

Downloading the anime now. By the time that finishes, I'm pretty sure that I will have a couple of subbed live action episodes to download. Are any live action eps subbed already? I saw the first ep raw at TokyoTosho...

Yeah, I saw a torrent for the subbed version and it DLed pretty quickly. Their fonts can be hard to see at times, but it's not bad.

Mmmm...Live Action get.

Okay, I concur with Spirit that the typesetting is hideous. Like, whenever Emma Ai speaks, the font is all red and spiky. I haven't watched the whole episode, but from the parts that I did see, it seems like all actors were "forced" to do it, and hence it feels like there is a lack of effort. But, I must watch the anime, and then the live action to give my _final_ opinion.
