Title: Hair question
Post by: AngelKawaii on December 11, 2006, 03:12:48 PM
Ok..so I need my hair to be orange. Does anyone know of a place that sells non permanet hair sprays..somewhere near San Jose or Sratoga?
Also...if my charachter has bangs and I don't...does that look wierd? xD (my friends thought it was. O.o)

Edit: look at my last post at the bottom of the page. xD

regarding the hair color - most hair supply stores will carry spray on color, but what i recommend using is l'oreal non permanent hair color. it colors your hair without using bleach and it washes out after several washes or so. i recommend using that instead of using spray on color

as for the bangs - i dont think it will matter that much if you dont have bangs but your character does. what character are you cosplaying? posting a picture could also help determine whether having the bangs will be that big of a difference

Woah, you live near Saratoga? LE GASP. Ilivethere.

Party City sells the sprays near ahmm... the Saratoga movie theatres... in that Wesgate (Wescape? ) mall.

The Loreal non permanent is pretty awesome too... it works well. I had to use it for my school play- I had green and orange hair, and it changed it to black. ^^ Washed right out. Yay.

Oh, the L'oreal sounds really good, I might use that for my own Hitsugaya cosplay.

yeah - how well it works depends on the color of your hair. the lighter your hair the more prominent the color is. if your hair is dark (like mine is) it will give more of a tint, but if you want something that gives some color and looks better than spray on color, id go with the loreal stuff ^^

l'oreal...

that mouse stuffs

in an orange packake... 5 bucks for one at longs... if your hair is long, you'll need two packages ^_^

i have used that MANY times to die my hair.. i've done all shades of black and purple with that stuffs.. it works amazing!! Tho.. i do have to say.. after i'd done my hair a blackish color for the 3rd time.... my hair never went back to quite the same shade of light red >.> but it was ok with me because i permanatly died it right after XD

so yeah.. threy all work awesomely.. wash out in about a week...

just be a bit wary with the black die

all the others worked fine for me!

^_^

Thank you all for your help.
Also, the bangs thing the charachter is Orihie, so I hope it won'ts make too much of a difference if I got without bangs. What do you all think?

And, hopefully the orange won't stay permanent or everyone at school will freak out when they see me. xD

I used the orange l'oreal thing and you couldn't really tell my hair was orange at all... then again, my hair is kind of dark so it's understandable.

I did get comments from people telling me it had a bit of an orangey tint for weeks afterwards, though. Even though I washed my hair every day! I think at some point people might've been imagining it.

yeah on dark hair the loreal stuff gives a tint, whereas the lighter your hair color the more the color will stand out.i have super dark brown hair (friends tell me its black but its not!) and i used the red color and it gave my hair a red tint

no there isnt white, the lightest color they have is like a super light blond i think. you could always bleach your hair and then use a hair dye, but thats permanent and you'd have to wait for your hair to grow out before your natural hair color comes back.

well yeah the lighter your natural hair color, the more the loreal color will stand out. it makes sense why the color came out more in your auburn hair than in my super dark brown hair ^^
