Title: Cosplay 07 Question
Post by: Duo Monkey on December 15, 2006, 07:04:12 PM
Bah! I can't get anyone to answer me! Our skit is going to be nearly 6 minutes long. Tis not cutable. Can we still do it? Anybody know? I tried contacting the head peoples but get no answer.

I think I remember reading somewhere in the 06 rules saying that you can divide the skit into a "2-parter" thing. I am not 100% sure though.

The rules for 07 aren't up yet, so check back soon.

Well, it's a song so doing a two parter wouldn't work. XD Wait! Hit the pause button! We'll come back on the next verse!

No.

There was a two-parter once, but that was only a "showcase" entry, not for competition.

Usually skits have been limited to three minutes... with the exception of Fanime 03 being eight, I think.

That sucks. It totally ruins our skit. Darn. I guess I have to think of something entirely different. Unless the people in charge would respond to my emails. -.- Which I've sent a lot of...

there has to be a way to cut it back. i sang last year and only did a portion of the song to make it fit time and to not bore everyone out of their minds and make their ears bleed. XD

or, just come up with a new skit idea. since i do not know the circumstances, i cannot really suggest what to do. use a TV edit version or have them cut it off at a good spot if it is a pre-made song (or alter it to keep in the parts you really want, if it is for comedy), or write a hsorter song (if you wrote it), or use the same jokes in a diffrent way (if it is a comedy song)...

Well, we're not the one's singing actually. Just lip synching and doing a story to a popular song. Cutting any parts out would make it crappy. ... Very crappy. Damnit. I was excited about doing this too. *grumbles* Guess not everyone will run things like I will at my cons I run. Oh well.

This is just a small thought... But maybe you could film it and put it as a two parter in the 3 Minute Video if it doesn't work out as you hope.

That would be rather hard considering nearly all the group is in Cali while I'm in Ohio and then they're spread out in Cali. So yeah. >.o And... Another note. When you're staff... respond to e-mails and PMs.

*twitches a brow* I'm pondering how many times I have to e-mail and PM staff to get an answer.

It's probably better not to send multiples, as that clutters up inboxes.

According to angeljibrille (Masquerade coordinator), the same rules from last year are applying to this year's con (maybe with some minor tweaking). I'm pretty positive that the time limit is going to stay consistant. (If changed at all...maybe a tiny bit longer, but definitely not to 6 min...)
