I'm planning a gathering for all you attendees who are crossplaying and crossdressing. Even if you only play a charecter who crossdresses, Bridget from Guilty Gear, or you love to crossdress, or if you love crossplaying as the opposite sex charecter. Whatever your reasons, come on down!!

well my gf and i were deathnote's L and light. she crossplayed as L, i was light. we only got like 3 pictures, and i ahve been looking for them everywhere but nobody seems to have posted them. If anybody has pictures of a white guy and an asian girl hnadcuffed together as L (asian girl) and Light (white guy). PM me the photos please it would be much appreciated
Well we were there for 30min or more. I actually got there early...I was either in a pink dress..or a black mini-skirt.
UNFORTUNATELY...people didn't all arrive at once. That was a problem. Many people only stayed for 5-10min..then more people came, but left because the group wasn't big enough. We were right there at the fountain area.
I might have a different place to gather next year...but probably not..I mean the fountain is just such an easy place.
I think we need to do more advertising everyone! You Man Temari need to go post in the Sexy No Jutsu gathering pages! They're perfect for our cause! Also if anyone can let us borrow a boombox and a CD with the Song "Dude Looks Like A Lady" Or perhaps just a CD Walkman or something with speakers to carry around.....along with a sign. We need a large sign to advertise how awesome our gathering is.

Bad news, a big chunk of my costumes were stollen after I got back from AX, but I'm hoping to have replaced some by the time Fanime roles around.

Lets see, are you in need of just music or a portable stereo (Boombox? I forget... I'm too old to remember) I can find some music and slap them on a CD. I can also make a sign or two to help out.
I don't know which costume I'll be wearing whenever we do this, but all of my costumes are crossplay so I don't think it'll matter. The closer we get to it, the more I'll have decided which outfit I'm wearing on which day.

We'll be meeting in the same area as KH. We should be able to share the same space, since there's not THAT many KH Cosplayers. I mean that area by the fountain is PLENTY big. Thus if you are a KH Crossplayer, you can SWITCH BETWEEN the groups ^_^

We'll be meeting in the same area as KH. We should be able to share the same space, since there's not THAT many KH Cosplayers. I mean that area by the fountain is PLENTY big. Thus if you are a KH Crossplayer, you can SWITCH BETWEEN the groups ^_^

Well it seems as if the gathering this year was a failure. I didn't really see anyone there....unless people gathered at the old time of 4pm, or earlier >.<
Next time I'm making damn sure I can get ready on time, and get there early. Not to mention get the gathering on the official list earlier, and advertise more...

Well I ran late, and I checked it to 4:30pm to make the time given to me by the official gathering time on the official gathering list.
Next time I'm setting this up earlier...
Also maybe have a sign that people can go to? This way we can find eachother since we'll all be from different anime and manga.

Oh I'm going to work extra hard to make sure that we do this!! First of all I'm going to ensure an EARLY spot on the Gathering List for '09. Second of all I have time where I can get recruits for people to do some advertising. That would be VERY helpful this year.

Well I'm HOPING to actually have it on Saturday...that's when the most people tend to show up and gather. I also want it early to mid afternoon so people don't have to wake up early, and have time to eat before the gathering as well. ^_^
Another thing that might help, since we'll all be from different anime and thus might not recognize the group, would be a sign.

Yeah I understand the Saturday in the mid afternoon thing.
The reason for my answer is that, I don't know what day Masq. would fall on this year (Fanime 08: falling on a Saturday, rather that on the traditional Sunday). If Masq. falls on a Sunday, then the only thing I would need to worry about here is time (cause of whatever stuff is needed of me to get into "character"). But if it falls on a Saturday, I'm S.O.L.
I'm sure to get a clear answer within the upcoming months.

@Nightroad Thanks~ That makes me feel better. Honestly I've never really crossplayed too much especially not in public. So hoping my friend and I could do the gender-bender Bleach characters. We might also perform a demo if we can find a time and place to do it at during fanime.
Costuming wise...not sure how to really consider it since as Soi Fong, I'll be wearing the Captain version AND the fighting version underneath (which is the standard for her). I don't really have a chest and knowing her fighting outfit is kind of revealing at the top at least. Not sure how to make that work exactly just yet...hmm...

Drag cos/crossplay is when you cosplay a character...wearing clothes from the opposite gender. For example, a female Kakashi (Naruto) crossplayer with Kakashi mask, headband, hair and all...but in feminine clothes.
I'm considering either drag! Kristoph Gavin (Apollo Justice) or Nnoitra Jiruga (Bleach).

Well Sexy no Jutsu counts if you're a guy. Or if you're just plain crosdressing without any real costume, like last year when I had on a pink Lolita dress ^_^V

That could work, you would just need to give people a reminder or a heads up about it. We did an informal gathering type of thing for Capcom vs SNK cosplayers that didn't make it to the Friday gathering (We held the informal one on Sunday and got a few more people to arrive)
Well I think we should wait to see when they're having the costume contests and skits and such on Saturday, BEFORE we plan anything on Sunday.

Maybe you could get a skin-toned tank top or sports bra to wear underneath, if you are nervous about anything showing. Or somewhere in another post someone mentioned some kind of tape (I think double-sided) specifically for holding edges of the fabric to the skin. Not sure where you get that at, tho, maybe a theatrical store or specialty clothing store.

When I googled compression shirts, I got sports shops. Maybe you could check at a local Sports Authority or something like that to see what kinds of shirts they have. Looked like muscle shirts for men, but if you bought in the next size below you (better try it on first), it might hold you tight. Otherwise (and I have seen this on smaller cupped cosplayers), wrap thin cloth around your chest, then have someone duct tape you over the cloth. Tuck the extra cloth out of the way.
Well good luck with all the chest bindings!! I'm just more concerned with my voice personally. Not to mention the expenses of everything. It depends on whether or not I go to a friend's wedding and everything, not to mention I have to find and buy some SHOES to go with my dress. Unfortunate my size is like 12-13 women's in Narrow >.<
I'm waiting to see how much money I have AFTER DunDraCon, and AFTER I talk to my friend about her wedding. Then I'll get a better idea of how much money I'll have for costumes. HOPEFULLY I can get enough to get another outfit, but I'm a little doubtful. @.@
I'm crossplaying both of my costumes. Casshern from Casshern Sins & Suzaku Kururugi (Knight of Rounds) from Code Geass. So, I'll be one of those two during the Gathering. Can't say for sure which yet.
