I have watched the trailer. The remake of kanon has solified me as a Key FanPerson lol. I can't wait for this now, despite that i have no knowldge of the game. oh well. I'll stick with the anime.

I won't lie, after the first 5-6 episodes, I wasn't impressed. It felt pretty mediocre, and the pace was rather slow. I wasn't that big of a fan of the makoto arc either, felt like none of it made any sense.
Buuuut, the Mai arc blew my mind and I loved it. And after growing to know more of the characters, I like the series more now as a whole. Sayuri > all.
Flashbacks are the type of storytelling I enjoy the most, flashbacks in flashbacks are even better! Kanon tends to do that a lot and it's a good watch.

I was always interested in this series (or rather the game) since I saw the original Kanon series. Its awesome that it will be an anime and its definitely on my to watch list for whenever it comes out... I'm kinda guessing it'll be around fall or so.

I will definitely watch this. I had pretty much the same reaction to Kanon as LastElixer did - I didn't really have a high opinion of the show until late in the Makoto arc or early in the Mai arc somewhere. Like AIR, it had a really slow, odd build-up, but once it got going... good times.

I'm fairly new to the series. The only characters that I actually know of are Tomoyo. (Top right in the picture), but I hear she lives with two other characters in that picture. The girl with... brown hair (bottom middle) and the guy with with black hair (bottom left, I think). Could anyone clue me in to her association?

Moon Phase reported it. They're most often pretty right on. But I suppose there's still plenty of room for speculation.
It was announced at TBS anime festa 2007 that CLANNAD will begin airing on October 4th.
The OP will be a remix of the original game OP. The ED will be "Dango Daikazoku."
No Haruhi 2nd series this year, folks.

My assessment so far: Fun series. Great production values. Cute girls.
Kotomi's probably my top. Tomoyo's high. And Nagisa is surprisingly cute. Fuko and Kyou have potential and I see some sort of attractiveness in them. Most rounded Key cast yet? Potentially, IMO.
Great show and probably the best key anime adaptation for me yet. It's all about Tomoyo and Fuko k thx.

Its pretty nice so far. I always like the flow of key series. Tomoyo, Fuko, and Kotomi are on my top right now. Ryou is also pretty nice.
My list is probably
1) Fuko
2) Tomoyo
3) Kotomi
4) tied between Ryou and Nagisa
5) Kyou
I'm sure it'd rearrange itself later... -.-;

From this early point with little footage of her, Kotomi has the highest "awesome" potential, so that places her at a fuzzy 1stish. And I always thought Tomoyo was a cool character from just art and such before the series, which helps put her high too. But if it came down to just footage from the show, Nagisa would be #1 hands down. Stupid adorable.

I finally started watching. 2 episodes in and my rankings are a complete blur. I'm with Tsubasa: this is the most-rounded Key cast yet. Every character so far interests me.
Nagisa's parents are awesome. Kikuko Inoue is so recognizable as her mother... hahaha.
And I kind of like Okazaki Naoyuki-san, strangely. He is an interesting character, to say the least.
Overall... this is the strongest start to a Key/KyoAni series yet. Looking forward to catching up.

Okay, I've seen up through ep 8 now. It's really good already, but I have a feeling it's going to get even better. After all, (Spiritsnare's going to hate me for this) Fuko is at or near the bottom of my list. Top is still open, but current contenders are Nagisa, Sanae-san, Ryou, maybe Tomoyo... and Misae-san. Like I said, it's a well-rounded list.
(I'm sad Kyou, not Ryou, is the main girl of that pair. But eh, so it goes. Ryou kind of resembles Tsukasa... not in a bad way.)

I watched episode 10 last night. That episode has to be the best one of the series so far. I love the slapstick humor and I was laughing out loud. and yesh, Kotomi is love. She's getting there to be my 2nd. And the the scene( Highlight for spoiler ) where Tomoyo and Kotomi are hugging while Tomoyo was in the bear suit was cute and sweetI want to see moar of Kotomi now.

Mmmm.... ep 13 was good. Kotomi is even better than before (young Kotomi = adorable), but I think I'm liking Nagisa even more, still. Kyou's attitude had me annoyed severely - she's definitely low-tier for me.
I'm presuming that Kyou's arc will be next. I'm curious what they'll do with that.

Post-ep-17: Things are looking interesting now. I like how it isn't developing quite according to standard galge pacing, with all the touches of past and future arcs in the middle of whatever storyline is ongoing, and that important things happen with many of the characters at once, so that you're not always sure which arc is in progress.

Hm. Four episodes left, and we're definitely in the midst of Nagisa's arc. Not that I don't like it, but does anyone else feel like Tomoyo's and Ryou's arcs barely got anywhere? Compared to previous Key series, I don't think they really developed much at all. Then again, who knows what can happen in the space of 4 episodes...
Also, Fuko's recent appearances have all been pretty hilarious.
Episode 18 pretty much hit home how the situation really went down between Kyou and Ryou. Sure, Ryou did have a crush on Tomoya, but you can tell by the reversal how Kyou was the objective in the twins meddling, not the other way around.

The ending speech in ep 22 was a bit... embarrassing, but I guess that kind of scenario is inevitable, huh. Another ep after this one...
On a slightly different note, the lack of replies in the Clannad cosplay gathering thread (http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,8352.0.html) has left me in despair. Please don't tell me not many Clannad cosplayers will be attending. ;l

Episode 22 felt rushed. To be honest, if I could have it my way I'd rather have the story continuity of the festival moved up two episodes and finish up the Ryou and Kyou stuff beforehand (Though I haven't played the original game so I wouldn't know any better).
There wasn't enough Kyou insight in my opinion. She really didn't get a "true arc", just minor story breaks here and there because of her denial of her own feelings for the sake of Ryou.
Though the episode absolutely reminded me of what Dom said back on Megatokyo:

I finished watching the series. It was not bad. For me, my expectations were getting too high towards the end. Regardless, it was entertaining ^__^ I'm looking forward to season 2.

It's not a real season two. It's just a couple-episode after story. Sort of like how AIR did a two-episode "AIR In Summer" bonus.

I really enjoyed this episode. I honestly got a bit teary eyed at the end.

Downloaded it, but no chance to watch yet. BUT I HAVE HIGH HOPES.
EDIT: My hopes were met. It was a very good episode, and it really cemented my conclusion that Tomoyo is my #2 for Clannad. I rewatched part of the earlier series in advance of this episode, so I was also reminded why Nagisa (and her arc) are #1 for me - because not only is she adorable, but she has the best parents ever (as evidenced by the way Akio's speech in ep 22... oh my god, tears to my eyes again).. but still. 24 was GOOD. Tomoyo and Tomoya are so cute together.
24's indeed a good episode. Quite moving.
The episode didn't do anything for my ranking. It didn't even need to exist to assure me that Tomoyo's 3rd. No matter how hard she tries, she'll never be any higher than #2 Kotori or #1 Nagisa.
