I went to Wonder Con, and was slightly disappointed to see only one binder full of pokemon cards. I'm hoping that since this is an anime con, not comics overall, that there will be more cards. If anyone can let me know if I'll be pleased or disappointed, that'd be great.
Im sure there will be SOME. Not a ton though. Sorry.
Damn, but thanks anyways. I bet there will be tons of magic. Poor pokes.
Not really. Its an anime con, not a gaming con. When it comes to cards, you'll probably find Yugiou in the largest amount, and some pokemon, and maybe some magic. But, again...the dealers room is more about anime, manga, and merchandise than cards.
I would advise you to check the Swap Meet. You may have some luck there, and you'll get better deals, besides.
Alright thank you, I will remember that. :-)
Hey, hey! If anyone's looking for Magic just let me know specifically what you need and I'll see if I can bring it to the swap meet.
if you want I can bring what ever I have of pokemon cards..I used to be a gym leader of the toys R us...
and most of the pokemon cards I have are kinda rare (well if you consider a gardevoir fan or a blaziken. and im still playing today XD. I'll bring as much pokemon cards from the basic series to....well..right now I stoped around the Neo series but I will purchase alot more itneresting foils from ebay.....i mean i don't know which pokemon your looking for O_O!......
also i noticed that alot of people wanted trades from pokes to pokes items. HOW ABOUT I BRING MY LAPTOP AND MAKE A CUSTOM -_o? Maybe people will stop bothering about buying my sisters backpack (had 12 people asking how much for the Meowth backpack......)))
Well how about this one for a wild one. I had ordered from E-bay a swords of revealing light card and the guy sent it plus he also sent an extra card just for ordering.
Well that extra card was none other then Dian Keto the cure master. Well there is a typo on this card I am sure of it. Instead of giving my life points 1,000 as it is supposed on MY card I got it says 10,000 how is that for blowing you away? The kicker is both card cost me a grand total of 3.00 hehehe
not much of a card O_O!......i never heard a card that has a huge typo like that other than this one card that has a misprint name of Ancient Myuu card.
Anyway expect me to be there selling my cards at the swap meet:o!!!!
Sun i might buy a few if you have my old favorites. I'm mainly looking for Gym heros. ^^

i have hella pokemon cards >_<
there like pretty rare i guess lots of holographics and old ones but isnt it like illegal to sell without a permit or whatever >_<
Swap market is more of your selling your stuff....so people can afford them..
Pokemon cards is one of them..
I have soo many that I think now would be a good time to sell them away...
most of them are Rare but aren't worth that much.
IM more of a collector and sometimes use them because I enjoy playing.. (and protecting..) i mean. my cards are nothing but Crystal's and Gardevoirs and light in their names..!!
Nya I have every rare from the first four sets and most if not all the promos. I'm thinking of selling them at Fanime during the swap meet on thursday, anybody intrested?
omg, now I wish I could get myself to sell some of my cards... 1st editions, plus some random japanese ones
Anyways, I'm planning to bring a deck to play anyone whose interested.... but yeah.... (I feel like a total nerd)
How much can one expect to pay for a pokemon card? My sister wants to sell hers, but she doesn't know how much to ask for or how to price them. do first editions cost more? does the little common, uncommon rare and halo mean anything when priceing them. so on and so forth. if anyone could answer this question for her or link a site that has a priceing guide, that would be awesome, she's bugging me everyday about it. ^_^;;
If you want a good idea of prices, check eBay. I once got about 10 different promo cards for $2, simply because he wanted to get rid of them.
I find that fake cards go for the most money. Yes, there are people who actively hunt for fakes, as they are just as collectible at this point.
Cards and Comics usually bring a wide variety of cards. I think they will also be bringing Pokemon cards.

I see. Thank you very much.

This is both a good and bad idea. Ebay can be a good way to get the general feel of the market, but...like you just said. You got a bunch of promo cards for cheap, right? That's an unusually good deal, and may throw off preception of the market. The best idea is to use several different sources (of which ebay is one) to sort of "triangulate" the average current market price. Try googling "pokemon card price" or "pokemon card price guide" and check out a couple different sites.
Pokemon cards should be marked with indicators for common, uncommon, and rare, and if it's a First Edition printing it should have another mark for that too.
As a general rule of thumb, rare cards sell for more than uncommon, and uncommon sell for more than rare. First Edition prints sell for more than their later counterparts, and "holographic" or "foil" cards fetch more as well.
There are always exceptions, of course. A particularly powerful (or otherwise sought after) uncommon or even common can sell for more than a rare that nobody cares about. Some runs of certain cards have errors, and these error cards can be difficult to find, making them desireable to certain collectors.
It's all about supply and demand. The more people there are that want a card in relation to how many of that card there are to go around determines value. On the other hand, you might get lucky and there could be a local guy with a Gardevoir shrine in his basement and he just needs that ONE LAST CARD to complete his collection here's a hundred bucks PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME HAVE IT O_O
You never know... =3=.

Let me explain that a bit more.
When fake Pokemon cards were first circulating, only really rare cards had fakes. Within a few years, however, for any number of reasons, there were fakes of just about all the cards. It came to the point where people wanted to collect all the cards AND all the fake cards. Like, they would be selling for pennies in person and would be clearly noted as being fake.
I'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing. It....well, it is what it is.
I'll be selling my old Pokemon cards at the Swap Meet on Thursday & Friday night. :)
Upon closer inspection of my merchandise, I see that I will have a small box of Pokemon cards available. I'll post a list of what I have if it is so requested.
I've got some pokemon/bleach/yugioh/digimon/dbz/inuyasha/neopets cars I'll be bringing to the con, though I mostly have pokemon. A few in particular are shadowles, few errors, 3 in german, and 4 in japanese. So keep an eye outfor that! I'll be selling on Friday at the swap meet :)
I'll be coming to sell old stuff, trade the new stuff. Have waaaay too much of the Arceus packs >.<
I'll probably be selling new Pokemon cards. I keep on pulling too many Primes from HGSS packs, and LV.X I don't need.

I said I probably might sell them, I don't know yet.
Any you're looking for?
I'm fresh out of Donphan Primes. Too many people wanted them x.X
On the topic of fake cards, does policy have problems with properly marked art/fan/tribute cards? Basically, these are official cards that have been modified for the sake of either stepping up the art or creating a new card entirely. Each card is clearly marked that it's a art/fan/tribute card, is not for playing and is for display/collection purposes only. I find that I have a few from 2005 that I no longer want.
i'll be selling however many remaining Pokemon cards I have at the Swap Meet on Thursday & Friday. I've been doing so for the last couple of years, so I'm not-sure what I have left, but please stop by my section on both nights to check them out. :)
