So, after looking at the black and white ball thread I saw that there were some people who were going to the dance alone. Some people and I decided that it would be a good idea for the ones that are going alone to the dance to meet together and go as a group. This way noone will be alone and you will get to meet new people.
Purpose: Meet new people, and don't go to the ball alone. ^_^
Meeting time and place
When: Saturday
Time: 6:30-40 PM
Where: In front of the fountains.
Come dressed and wear a mask and have fun.

It's on the second floor of the con.center, it's one of the 2 main ballrooms, so you probably can't miss it. (I don't how i'm giving directions since i've never been anywhere near San Jose before XD)

Count me in on the meeting. I'll be there in a black and white ball gown with black opera gloves and a half-mask/face painting ANBU mask. I've told my friends about it, but they don't think this kinda thing's for them. *grin* More fun for me.
I have a regular ANBU mask that I use for my ANBU Kakashi cosplay but that's made of plaster, is heavy, and won't tie around my face for anything. So I'll play around with the cheap 80 cent masks from Michael's! Yays for sharpies!

I will at the very least show up to get some pictures of this meet up and of the ball.
Night time shots are fuzzy because the camera has to increase the ISO for the shots to expose correctly. In order to shoot nighttime photos and have them come out not fuzzy you need either a tripod so you can have a long exposure, or a flash. You can mute the flash by putting a thin piece of paper or white cloth in front of it. That will make the picture not seem so washed out.

I'm bringing my camera anyway, so I might as well be a conformist and carry it with me everywhere. I mean, it's a con right? Funny crap happens all over the place. Hence why it's ALWAYS beneficial to carry a camera around everywhere you go. That's where I get most of my pictures from, anyway.

They are suggested, but it's not a requirement.
Basicly wear anything you want..BUT! formal wear and masks are recomended but NOT required.

The dance classes will be held in the same room as the dance, Fanime Dance Ballroom B according to the latest schedual.
And I did get a wife beater today, unfortunatly you can see the seams of the wife beater under the dress shirt, but it's better than nothing.
I also got some super hold hairspray and temporary blue hair dye... :)
Although I don't think that will work with my masquerade mask.

And I found the temporary dye at Longs Drugs. It was at the very bottom of the hair dye rack. It's made by a company called Jerome Russell. You spray it on after you have styled your hair and the hair is dry.

It will work. He's outfit is all black right? So, there will be a coat/purse check at the ball. So, if your coat is too long you can check it in and dance in the rest of your cosplay. ^_^

I showed up and met up with Angel along with Oni and his GF, Otaku and my friend Kyra. It was ok I guess. I'll go next year, and I hope that they play more latino music than swing. Salsa dancing is hella good :D
