Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gatherings & Events this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed. These should be the first group photos on your schedules.

first id like to give props to BSaphire for organizing the gatherings list - you're super awesome for taken on the responsibilty :D
i thought it was really awesome to have the gathering times posted around various spots at the con - i think they definately had an effect on the turnout at the gatherings (my Bleach gathering was HUGE). i definately encourage the use of the boards again for next year :D

also, since i am leading the Bleach gathering again next year, id like to throw out that the Bleach Gathering for 2008 will be held on Saturday. location is the fountains, time yet to be determined.

Hay there, I'm running the Rurouni Kenshin gathering this year, so in order to make sure more people know about it, I'm starting way early, we rushed the last one.

I'd like to have the gathering on Sunday, but I'm not sure about the time, I'm hoping to have it at a fair time that's away from the bigger gatherings but still gives people time to go to the masquerade if they want to, so most likely it will be in the morning.

I think that the boards were very helpful and I never thought I would hear that a gathering was "Too Big" *LOL :P but I am glad that the turn out for each gathering was better than expected by the majority. :)

I was wondering which board actually helped the most? I know that sounds strange, but if you used one... which one did you use?

This one helped more in my opinion.

I had no problems finding the FF ALL gathering, but it was a disaster for anyone who wasn't cosplaying FF7/Advent Children.

My sister was Rinoa and we got there to the FF8 gathering all right.

I heard there was a FFX Gathering too, but I didn't see it on the list and I never found out about it until last month when I was browsing Cosplay.Com.  Was that gathering last-minute?  It would explain why all the FFX/X-2 cosplayers came out of the woodwork on Sunday AFTER the general Final Fantasy shoot.

I haven't really used this thread before, but it was easy for me to find our Fruits Basket Gathering in 2007 XD It was small but awesome^^

I would like to maybe have an InuYasha Gathering this year? I already have like six people who will go xD

I was hoping for maybe Monday, By the fountains, and around 12:30 noon.

I'm trying ot organize a .Hack and an Air Gear gathering, I already know people who are going to cosplay from both groups

There will be two One Piece gatherings, one on Saturday and one on Sunday (done in a similar fashion to the FMA gathering at Fanime 2007. Times are currently undecided

There's going to be both a Dead or Alive and a Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball gathering at Fanime 2008.  :)  More details coming soon in a seperate thread (probably once 2008 starts.)

I'm organizing an FFVIII gathering somewhere on Saturday, or possibly Sunday.  We're most likely going to meet by the fountains.

I'd like to organize 3 different ones:

Organization XIII/Kingdom Hearts Gathering

Air Gear gathering

Hellsing gathering. let me know please!

Thanks everyone for posting! If you want to have a particular type of gathering I would recommend that you do a search in these cosplay forums &/or the cosplay.com Fanime forums for the gathering you want to have. If no one has started a thread for 2008 or updated a 2007 thread to include 2008 then start one. Be sure and check the first post of any likely threads, because they may have a 2008 list already started there.

I will have a few changes on how the gathering lists have been done in the past.

*The biggest ones right now are that ONLY the Gathering Info boards will be at con. I am looking into 8 - 10 of them.

*Another is that the super gatherings will be given priority. When there are 60+ people at a gathering then the time is best left for that gathering due to the amount of people involved in it. For example: Bleach, Naruto, Shounen Jump, Final Fantasy All, etc.

*Lastly, I do plan on having a MS Word download version for those who want to print the Gatherings List out before con.

If you want to have your gathering at the same time but a different location then it is ok to do so, but realize that many of the photographers that come and photograph at Fanime do not always make it to every gathering listed at a given time, especially if it runs concurrently with a large (60+) gathering.

Another couple points I would like to throw out are:

1. If you start a thread then people will expect you to oversee the thread and to answer their questions. This includes me; if I have questions I normally will contact the thread starter.

2. If the info for your gathering is posted here it should be by the thread starter or who ever is in charge of that gathering. Also, be sure that you have as much info in the post as possible. For example: Shounen Jump gathering: Day=Sunday, Time=1PM, MP=Fountains in Front Convention Entrance, L= Fountains in Front Hilton Side.

If you don't know something for sure then put TBA next to it. For your gathering time to be listed, the Day, Time, and Location are required to be listed in your post. If you are not going to have a meeting place (MP) then put MP=SAL (same as Location).

3. Realize when scheduling your gathering it is highly recommended to have a meeting place (MP) & a location (L) which do not have to be the same, and usually are not if the gathering location will be off site or another area other than the fountains in front, 1st floor convention lobby, or 2nd floor convention lobby.

4. With all that I do I usually do NOT check individual threads for the information. If the info isn't posted on this thread then odds are that it won't show up on the Gathering Info boards around Fanime.

5. It is best to check back to make sure your information is all complete and on the list. I normally post in this thread if the list has been updated so you can tell approximately when I update.

6. If you have any changes to your gathering information, please post or email the info to me by the deadline. After the deadline I can not guarantee that your gathering info will get changed and this may cause great difficulty for your gathering to know when & where.

7. There will NOT be a stage at the foot of the stairs for inside 1st floor gatherings this year.

8. I am not guaranteeing that two day gatherings will be listed on both days so put the most important day FIRST. Saturday & Sunday are crammed full of gatherings. It isn't fair for a smaller (under 60 peeps) gathering to have both days. If you wish to have two days then I would recommend one day be Friday or Monday since these days do not have as many gatherings and that your FIRST GATHERING CHOICE be the Saturday or Sunday.

I will not list ANY gatherings till after the first of the year. Things happen and change way to fast to start the list now. I do appreciate knowing that there will/are new gatherings being looked at and I really hope that this post helps everyone.

In all honesty, I was new to fanime last year.
And I only discovered about these gatherings saturday afternoon, and when I asked where I could find the schedule, all I was pointed to was this little whiteboard thingy with the scribble of schedules somewhere in the far side of the convention center. All I saw where scrawlings of schedules D:

I think it would be very helpful if in that pamphlet we're supposed to get when we enter Fanimecon to indicate where we could find the schedule, or have the actual copy of the schedule in it for convenience's sake in my opinion.

I've got a couple of gatherings I want to schedule. I haven't found a time for them yet, but the ones I want to schedule are a general RPG character gathering and a gathering for Tales characters.

Attention ALL GATHERINGS!!!

It has come to my attention that the Cosplay Masquerade will be moving to Saturday & will be held at the San Jose Civic Auditorium (where it was held 2004 - 2006) right across from the fountains @ the San Jose Convention Center. Because I know so many of you plan your gatherings around the Cosplay Masquerade & ALL of the Cosplay Masquerade info is NOT up currently I wanted to give you all a HEADS UP! I would also like to Strongly suggest that if you have scheduled your gathering with in 1 hour of a LARGE (60+ peeps) gathering and in the same area that you consider moving it before or after these gatherings.

As a photographer I can say that large gatherings take more time to shoot and it may prevent some of the photographers from attending your gathering if it is scheduled at the same time. It also puts lot of people in the back ground of the photos of your group due to the large crowds that attend the large gatherings.

This is ONLY a Suggestion, but I would like to see many of you happy about your gatherings and I also know that there are quite a few new people organizing gatherings and may not be aware.

The prinouts/lists of the gatherings last year were extremely helpful. Thank you soo much to whomever printed them out.

The gatherings themselves were a lot of fun. I was in a couple, and I attended several others for photos. I ran out of film! ;.; I'm going to be bringing more this year, that's for sure.

All in all my friends and I had an absolute blast, and now we're just counting down the days to Fanime 2008! ;D

Yep this a cosplay free for all since I am going as the laughing man. I just picked the Naruto one cause has the biggest cosplay and non-cosplay rate.

Ah okay, so that's what she meant. But I still need to ask about the Gaia gathering.

Honestly, I have no idea what's going on with BSaphire, don't know her but I know from others that she's a very nice person. I hope she's okay too. I just saw the list there not having been updated and since I want to know what gatherings I want to take pictures at, I felt that it would be okay to help update the gathering list. Once she posts again I'm going to stop posting but I wanted to help out. Fans helping Fans right?  :)

Oh, the location will be in front of the convention center, and the fountens for the DOA gathering

I would like to thank Succubus for working on this while I have been gone. I went through and double checked since my last post. Please check the 1st post on this thread to see if your gathering info is corrected/posted/you forgot to change it *LOL etc.

MidnightRosebud: Thank you for the compliment ^^) There was a mix up to where the handout/flyer list were located and I didn't get them out till Saturday, so they were not as effective as I had hoped. The Gatherings Info boards were REALLY effective and I plan on having them again this year, but not the flyer/handout. I will have a link here and on C.c to the Cosplayer Gatherings List (in MS Word format) for anyone to download before con.

yamaneko: Do you have a time yet for the D.Gray-man gathering? Maybe 1/2 hour before the Jump gathering?

budds I changed .hack// ALL to 1 pm on Sunday per the prior request. If you would like the group to move it you need to talk to them on the .hack// thread and see if they want to move it. Then the thread starter will send me the info and I will change it. Otherwise it stays as posted, sorry :)

Delvish: Though I have listed your FF XI gathering, if I don't get the remaining info your gathering will not be on the final version. I am glad that there is a FF XI gathering because I enjoyed seeing a couple of them last year. It takes 3 to make a gathering, so make sure you have 3 FF XI cosplayers. The characters in FF XI are like Oblivion/Morrowind characters allowing you to customize so seeing them cosplayed makes me happy because the odds of two being the same are reduced and they are not cosplayed as often ^^)

Mister_E: I don't know what the Caramaledansen gathering is all about, but since you posted that you are willing to share time/space with Naruto (??? that gathering is HUGE... I think there was around 120 peeps last year???) I listed it as the Fountains in Front. If this is incorrect please post the correct info here. Thanks ^^)

K&K4ever: Glad to see the DOA gathering is here! I am sure EBK will be too! I listed it as ALL since it is like Soul Calibur and many other games with different versions of the same characters :P

This year I retired my postion(s) with Sac Anime & Comic Cons, have become a grandmother (He's sooooo cute!), working, paying bills, working, sewing, working, sewing... oh.. did I mention working *LOL & sewing :P I needed to get ready for Sakura Con in Seattle, Washington last month and I have been a little under the weather since I have been really busy. I am better than I was last year at this time and I DON'T plan on being anywhere near as sick as I was last Fanime! *crosses fingers :)

I've got at least 4 as well as my friends which I assume are coming. As for location, I don't know the Fanime area very well so do you have any advice as to where it could be hosted? preferably somewhere large so it can accommodate a relatively large number of cosplayers assuming other FF's join in.

I have updated the list and added info to the top please read. I also moved the Caramaledansen gathering up to 11:30 am due to the amount of people that will be in the area for the large Naruto gathering.

I did some quick calculations on the poll info and here is what I have as combined totals from C.c & here:

62% of the poll takers were able to find the info on the gatherings in 2007
27% of the poll takers were not able to find the info (not on forums/new/can't find at con) in 2007
11% of the poll takers didn't care either way

If this was a Democratic Poll result it would be 62% for 27% against and 11% undecided *LOL Just a little election year humor. I am glad that the poll reflects the growth of Fanime and the effectiveness of the tools available to those returning and many new attendees. Even the ones that don't really care seem to get the info too :)

I've noticed that the 2:00 time slot on Sunday is in bold. I was wondering, are gatherings for the 2:00 hour in general on Sunday filled up or is it only for the 2:00 time slot. I noticed that the 2:30 slot wasn't in bold and that was when I wanted to schedule my general R.P.G. character gathering.

Just a quick update!
I have included a "Special Events by Cosplayers" section to the list. Check your info to make sure I have it correct please ^^) My final list will be early in the morning so make sure all your changes are up! Tell peeps to get their gatherings confirmed and post if they want it on the list too. There is little more than 12 hours to get the info up here for me.

This is non-anime specific, so any kind of Ninjas and Pirates are welcome!

Konnichiwa Fanime Cospeeps! The Final List is UP! ^^)

As of 7 AM there were a total of 173 people who voted in the polls (Fanime & C.c.) I have used the poll to gauge the effectiveness of information reaching all of you. Here is what it says:

70% of poll takers find the gathering information by means of the forums, gathering boards, or the list last year (2007)

20% of poll takers could not find the gathering information because they couldn't find it, were not on the forums, or were new to Fanime last year (2007)

10% of poll takers didn't care either way.

This means that what I am doing is working! If 20% of the people last year didn't know the info then they were less likely to be in gatherings and able to enjoy them. I will set up the poll again after this year & I would love to have all of you come back and take the poll again to reflect this year.

There will be 8 Gathering Info Boards positioned around the Convention Center. I will be putting them out Friday afternoon when I arrive in San Jose. Please remember to be kind to your fellow cosplayers and attendees.

B!  Thank you so much for all of your help organizing the Naruto Gathering.  You are awesome!  Our turn out was AMAZING! 

I had a blast at the Shonen Jump gathering too.  Too bad I fell asleep too early and didn't get to use my glow stick necklaces and bracelets...oh well there's always next year!

Your sign-postings were EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you very much for making them so readily available around the Con!!

I'll be in more gatherings next year, going as Piccolo, though just having a Shonen Jump isn't enough, we should have a Dragonball gathering to its own, because I saw a lot of dragonball universe characters this year. Also, making a suit of armor to be Al from FMA...that'll be great to see once its completed.

I have a The World Ends With You group/gathering being planned for Fanime 2009..
we're thinking about having it on Sunday at 11am at the fountains?
My cosplay group would really appreciate the ability to make a gathering :D

can you please put "Soul Eater 2009" Gathering down at 3-3:30pm in front of the water Fountains? When ever you start the 2009 gathering list Info page

Likewise, if possible, the D.Gray-man gathering would like their old time (10 AM on Sunday by the fountains). I'm gonna wait for the list to fill up more before placing the Gintama gathering ^^;;

fanime_lo-ve: I will start the times after the 1st of the year, so please repost then your Soul Eater gathering, just in case I miss it when I list the times :P

yamaneko: Please repost your info after the first of the year & I will put it in. Until then to many things change and it just gets crazy with editing the list. I'm sure that there won't be a problem, but I don't want to forget anyone :) I hope that the D.Gray-man cospeeps join in on the Jump gathering ^^)

OK, I am absolutely coordinating the Rurouni Kenshin Gathering, the Fight Game gathering, the Guilty Gear Gathering, and (until further notice) the Ace Attorney Gathering.

I really don't want to coordinate the Nintendo gathering By myself because I have never coordinated anything that big, but if no one else will pick up the torch, then I will.

I'll call you back when I have something more solid to announce.

I'm Going to be Planning the Death Note and Vocaloid gathering. I haven't decided on a date and time yet, I was waiting to see what the Main events schedules are like, like The karaoke contest and things or that sort. I would hate to make my gatherings interfere with things like that...and it sucks having to chose one event to go to. So I will be thinking of a date and Time at a later Time.

hi I would like to start a second Naruto gathering but a Formal Naruto gathering before the "Black and White Ball" so that we may go as a group. The meeting place will be some where outside the Black and White Ball entrance. But all cosplayers must be in a Dress or a Suit. (I will keep updating if there are any changes).

Have you started a thread for your Formal Dressed Naruto Cosplay Gathering? If not, I would recommend it and talk to the Naruto peeps on the Naruto gathering thread for 2009. Be sure and read the first post of this thread and thenpost back here the info before Fanime so that it can be listed on the info boards.

I also wanted to let you know that I am contacted about gatherings that are being done on other websites such as: Cosplay.com (C.c), Livejournal (LC), Myspace (M_), DeviantArt (DA), Facebook (FB) to name a few. Please be sure to list your URL when posting your gathering info so that I and others may find the conversations on the gathering.

I have listed below some Q & A that may help explain more of what this thread is about. If you have any other questions please post, pm or email me and I will get a reply to you ASAP. Also, be sure and take the poll. I will periodically update in a post what the polls are doing.

What is a gathering?
A "Cosplay Gathering" is where a group of cosplayers from the same group/title/game/subject come together for photographs from the press/media/photographers @ a particular time/location/date during the convention.

Most gatherings are open for other like/similar cosplayers to join in.
For example a Naruto gathering would be open to all Naruto characters being cosplayed from the anime, manga, or game. A Resident Evil character wouldn't be in a Naruto gathering.

Why are there gatherings?
Many cosplayers like to get together with others who are cosplaying from the same thing and have pictures taken.
By doing a gathering it helps to plan out what to cosplay during which time and day during the convention. It helps the photographers to get many of the cosplayers photos with similar characters from a series/game/etc. It is a fun way to meet new cosplayers who are interested in the same thing as you & to meet up with old friends from previous gatherings.

What makes a gathering?
A gathering consists of 4 or more people from the same anime/manga/game/title/organization/subject in costume who would like to be photographed by press/media/photographers/fans.

Do we have to have all the info when we post?
It is best to have a Day, Time, and Location & Where the thread can be located (URL) so that others can find out about the gathering.

You should have at least a day & time for your gathering. With only a Day & Time listed in your post I will place your gathering in the time requested if available, HOWEVER, your gathering will also be listed in the "Unconfirmed Gatherings" section at the bottom of the list. If you DO NOT post again with the missing information and stay on the "UG" list you gathering will not be listed on the FINAL VERSION of the Gatherings List. It is best to check back at the gatherings list to make sure your gathering info is complete and located where you requested.

If you want to meet up in a different location than the location (where you are having the photos) you  need to post that the MP is different than the L, otherwise the MP & L will be listed as the same. If the MP isn't known/determined post that the MP is To Be Announced.

What if our time/date/meeting place/location changes?
You need to re post that information here on this thread so that I can change it on the Official List. If the change can NOT be completed due to conflict then I will post you in my update post.

I requested a time and when I checked the list I saw that it was moved up/down a half an hour from the time I requested. Why was this done?
Sometimes a time requested is full. I will then try to put it in either a half hour before or a half hour after. I will then let you know in my update post.

There have been times where I have updated the list and posted the info incorrectly by accident. It is always good to re check the list periodically to make sure your info is correct.

What does MP mean?
MP = Meeting Place
The meeting place is sometimes done for gatherings that want to meet in one place but move to another location for the gatherings photos.

What does L mean?
L = Location
The location (L) for a gathering is where the cosplayers of that gathering will be located for photographs. Locations vary for gatherings. Also note that some gatherings may list more than one location to do photos. This is normally because of other things the gathering cospeeps wish to do.

For example:
The Naruto gathering may have the official group photos at the fountains in front of the convention center, but later move to a near by park for fun/random photos of their own. Photographers/press/media may choose not to attend the second location and only photograph the official group photo gathering, while other may go to the other location.

If a time is in bold, can I still get my gathering listed at that time?
You can request the time, but most of the time if a location is full then I will not list it. I may move it a half an hour before or after if the time is available, but most of the time I will post that your gathering was not listed when I post that the list has been updated.

The person who started the thread for my gathering has not been on, what do we do?
Many thread starters stick with their threads, however on occasion a thread starter no longer keeps the thread updated. An active person on the thread should take over updating the list and reposting the updates for the others.

What is a unconfirmed gathering?
This is a gathering that has requested a date and time for the gathering but does not have a location/meeting place. If left on this section past the confirmation deadline that gathering will loose the time slot set aside for the gathering

What is a special event by cosplayers?
These are events that the cosplayers are doing and NOT a Fanime con run event. These may include parades, picnics, games, and dancing to name a few. These events are included during a gathering and fall either before or after the official photo time. Events also change locations, and may be required to, especially during peak cosplay gathering times at a particular location.

How do I get my gathering/cosplayer event on the Official Gatherings/Cosplayer Event List?
First read the 1st post of the Official Gatherings List. With in the 1st post is many links. Be sure to read All the information. Because the Gatherings are being made into it's own department under Live Programming (A first for conventions ^^) there are some specific requirements. Follow the directions on the first post.
PLEASE make sure:
1. Your gathering has 4 + people before giving me the info.
2. You include all the info requested.
3. Check the thread after the updates and periodically before con to make sure your info is correct. Mistakes happen, but your eyes can help me fix any accidents.

I have seen your thread on the forums and when you get the info together later just post it here. I will put it up on the list.

If you are having a gathering in the evening for a time that isn't listed don't worry, I will still put you up. Most gatherings happen during the day in the hours listed but there are a few that happen in the evening.

Put the Katekyo Hitman Reborn gathering down for Saturday at 11:30 am, on the first lobby.

This isn't confirmed yet though.

What can I say *giggles I guess you can figure this to be the official announcement until more information on Cosplay Masquerade is completed by the Coordinator. Basically I asked the man and the man said cosplay masq will stay on Saturday. I asked because I know that it is the one Fanime event that directly affects all of the planning of our gatherings so now those planning on Saturday can work around the Masq requirements. My Shojo Beat is on Saturday and I am sure the Vampire Knight fans will appreciate knowing this ^^P

So far, I think the day has been decided upon, but not the time.  I think it's gonna be on Saturday for sure. ;)  The official time is still being decided.  (I think it'll probably be sometime in the late morning or early afternoon.  That's my guess, anyway. XD)

This could be somewhat early but......BSaphire, would it be possible to request to have the Full Metal Alchemist gathering on Saturday at 10am near the front entrance of the convention center (same spot where it was the past two years)?

Hay B, I'm not sure right now, but I might have to move the Kenshin Gathering to 5:00, Not sure yet.

Same thing with Guilty Gear, I'm most likely going to move this one to three for the people that are still in schoo :-X

I would like to propose pushing for a code Geass gathering.
Out of all the animes in 2008, Code Geass R2 stood out as the best, personally.
Since its being dubbed in America now, I think that by Fanime, people should be up to episode 14 in dub.

However, because Code Geass is becoming a mainstream that Fanime should also consider this.

There is an error with the FMA gathering time placed on the list. On the topic, I asked if the gathering could be done at 10AM, not 1PM like it is listed here

I have updated the list, however I have not been pm'd or something is missing from those listed in the unconfirmed list. Please re read the first post to make sure you have completed the requirements.

If your gathering has been listed please make sure your info is correct.

The B & W Ball has been held on Sunday in the past. I believe that it will be on Sunday this year also. That could free up some time... although Cosplay Masquerade runs around 3 hours... It's the dance each night that would be where you might go after CM on Saturday... ^^)

Great Question ^^)

This is the main reason why I don't push to have the Gatherings List in the program. I want as many gatherings on the list as possible and the info as accessible as possible so that cospeeps can attend/have fun at the gatherings. I also want each gathering to have a great turn out. If I closed it a month prior to the con then many many MANY gatherings wouldn't make it on the list. SO... :P to answer your question...

The FINAL UPDATE is Midnight Wednesday May 20... I plan to arrive @ Fanime on Thursday so to update anything printed for the info boards or a pocket list would be very hard for me to accomplish.

In the next 30 days many of the smaller gatherings will notice more people posting or viewing their threads.  The main problem gatherings face as time to con gets closer is that there isn't enough time slots left available or locations get full and they have to find another location.

I know that one possible problem this year, more than last, is the economy because the average cosplayer spends $125 for a cosplay and the country's economy is effecting all of us and our ability to cosplay as we would like. The economy will effect who or how much each of us can cosplay with room, transportation, badge, and food costs (not including our $$$'s for AA & DR ^^) So things will be up in the air for a while longer... don't stress if you don't have lots/enough peeps just yet... give it at least 30 days.

Thank you Charis... I'm sure there are others out there asking the same question and for those that didn't understand why the Gatherings List isn't in the program guide can see why I don't push it. Program Guides go to the printer approximately a month before.

Be sure and follow the directions on the first post when you submit your gathering. :)

It is up to the thread starter/gatherings organizer to send me a pm with the requested information. If you wish to have the above time and location be sure and posted on either the Cosplay. com thread or the Fanime thread for the Sailor Gathering. Thought the thread/organizer has not updated the info  on them recently they are still in charge. They are also pretty busy with school and such so please be patient.

Ok Fanime peeps! 2009 is here and there is lots to do and some news!

Fanime is making the Cosplayer Gatherings into a department under Live Programming! I have wanted to do some bold moves for a while and with the growth in the number of gatherings and cosplayer run events the time has come ^^P. There are some new changes that will happen in how I have run this in the past, but "It is ALL GOOD" I assure you! ^^)

As usual this post will be updated with the current information on the cosplayer gatherings. Please be sure and check your gathering info periodically once it is posted and read this entire post for any changes. I don't want anyone to be left out. ^^) Fanime Programming and events may cause a gathering organizer to change the date/time/location of a gathering.

Now for the new guidelines:

#1 I will have a gatherings/cosplayer events check in table located on the first floor of the convention center.

#2 The gathering organizer/thread overseer &/or Coplayer event organizer needs to check in to the gatherings table 10 minutes prior to the start of your gathering/event. DO NOT send someone else to the table because you will be on my list not them.

When you check in I will have one of the gatherings staff go with you (or check in with you) to shoot a couple of group photos for Fanime to use. Please advise your gathering that Fanime will be taking photos of the group and if they do not wish to be in them to step aside. If they stay then they are giving consent to be photographed. This needs to be stated on your first post with the list of those attending your gathering. Feel free to copy the following and post it on your list post.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

#3 Each gathering organizer/thread overseer &/or Cosplayer Events organizer needs to send me a pm prior to their time being listed on the Official Cosplayer Gatherings thread. In the PM to me the following needs to be done:

#3ASubject line is your gathering name &/or Cosplayer Event (if you are running more than one gathering then you need to put MULTI Gathering in the subject line)

#3BList each gathering name &/or Cosplayer Event, the URL for the gathering/event, requested Day & Time, location and/or meeting place individually. If you are running an event during a gathering please list the gathering also:

Example: Shonen Jump, http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,4426.0.html, Sunday 3 PM, L & MP = Fountains in Front Hilton side, EVENT = Otaku Game Sunday 3:30 PM or immediately following the gathering.

Secondly:

The list has been updated!

If your gathering is listed as "Unconfirmed" on the first post please check to see that you have followed the new guidelines and completed all the requests. The most common one is that the Fanime Photograph disclaimer is NOT posted on your thread (s) on the first post for your attending to read. If that is the only thing missing please fix it and re PM me with your gathering in the Subject line and your URL (s) in the body of the message with any changes or completed info that was missing.

If you remain on the "UNconfirmed" list you will NOT have your gathering listed on the "Gathering Info Boards," on the Gatherings List thread for Fanime forum or Cosplay.com forum, and any pocket list that may be available during Fanime. That means the 20% that do not know about your gathering and are new this year will most likely NOT get the info on your gathering. Then there are the 20% who get the info at con and are not on the forums prior to con. THAT IS 40% of the cosplayers @ Con.

Last thing:

Always check that the correct info was posted for your gathering. If it is incorrect please post here and let me know.

Thank you everyone for your patients. I know it is a little different this year than in the past, but with cosplayers being more recognized for who we are (AWESOME ^^) by Fanime means there are just a few changes.

I do not know what that gathering is currently doing. Here is the info and link for it:

#2 The gathering organizer/thread overseer &/or Coplayer event organizer needs to check in to the gatherings table 10 minutes prior to the start of your gathering/event. DO NOT send someone else to the table because you will be on my list not them.

When you check in I will have one of the gatherings staff go with you (or check in with you) to shoot a couple of group photos for Fanime to use. Please advise your gathering that Fanime will be taking photos of the group and if they do not wish to be in them to step aside. If they stay then they are giving consent to be photographed. This needs to be stated on your first post with the list of those attending your gathering. Feel free to copy the following and post it on your list post.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

#3 Each gathering organizer/thread overseer &/or Cosplayer Events organizer needs to send me a pm prior to their time being listed on the Official Cosplayer Gatherings thread. In the PM to me the following needs to be done:

#3ASubject line is your gathering name &/or Cosplayer Event (if you are running more than one gathering then you need to put MULTI Gathering in the subject line)

#3BList each gathering name &/or Cosplayer Event, the URL for the gathering/event, requested Day & Time, location and/or meeting place individually. If you are running an event during a gathering please list the gathering also:

Example: Shonen Jump, http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,4426.0.html, Sunday 3 PM, L & MP = Fountains in Front Hilton side, EVENT = Otaku Game Sunday 3:30 PM or immediately following the gathering.
Shonen Weekly, http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,9938.0.html, Friday 6:30 PM, MP & L = 1st Convention Center.
Shojo Beat, http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,8501.0.html, Saturday Time TBD, MP = 1st Floor Convention Center, L = Fountains in Front

#3CThen list your First & Last Name (yes, your real name,) Your Forum Name, and your Badge Name if different. For Example:

Jane Doe, Forum Name = Lucky Charms, Badge Name = Jane's Lucky Charms (If they are all the same then just list your name and FN & BN are the same.

That is basically it. After you contact me I will double check your URL and info then post your requested info if available.

IF your gathering is listed and I am still waiting on a PM with the info know that I still expect a complete PM from you before WEDNESDAY @ 11:59 AM or I will remove the gathering from the list and it will not appear AT Con.

All Gathering/Event organizers:
1. Check your info on the first post.
2. Make sure you check in 10 minutes PRIOR to the start of your gathering/event/rehearsal at the Cosplayer Gatherings/Events Table on the 1st Floor of the Convention Center Lobby Area.
3. Update any info on your first post of all your threads. (For those who are organizers that didn't start the thread make sure the post with the info is updated and re-post the link to the list and info.)
4. If you haven't submitted your gathering yet please follow the submission guidelines. Link is located on the first post of this thread.

List closes Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Once closed, any "UNCONFIRMED" gatherings or events will not appear on the Gathering Info Boards, Pocket Gatherings List (if provided) or at the Cosplayer Gatherings/Events Table. If you haven't submitted your gathering/event it will not appear in those places either.

There are no changes made at con during Fanime so make sure EVERYTHING is set before Wednesday, May 20, 2009.

yay fanime fun comming right now

2009 is over **( but now we can start planning those new costumes, great skits, fun activities, and talk with the many new and old friends we met until 2010 comes. I wanted to post the final poll results and say thank you to everyone for all the support this year. Look to the new threads for 2010 to give your feed back, list your URLs, take the 2009 poll, and find out what is coming up for 2010. I will be locking this one after this post.
